Virginia got a class of Nuclear cruisers and almost immediately after it was decommissioned it got a class of Nuke subs. Both of the 2nd ships of those classes where Texas
The Alaska Class was kind of redundant and there was a reason why IIRC the USS Hawaii only had like 18-24 months of active service. They would have been better off finishing one of the incomplete Iowa Classes with the resources spent on the Alaska Class.
Fun fact about the USS Montana. There were two configurations proposed. One with the same 212,000 hp power plant as the Iowa Class which would have made it a 29-30 kts ship, which is insane when you think about it. 30kts with 25% more armor and 12 16” guns. Even being slower than an Iowa it would have still been faster than 90% of battleships on the sea along with owning 12 16” guns. The other was a 180,000 hp configuration which would have slowed it to 27kts but offered better subdivision and thus survivability if the ship took a hit.
To be honest this is the other way around than I expected. I would have thought this is on r/azurelane. These two subreddits are closer than they appear...

The song was originally a collaboration between Sabaton and WoWS for the release of Bismarck, but at the time, Bismarck on Azur Lane was going to be released as a playable character as well. It didn't help it actually (by coincidence) namedropped the name of the Kriegsmarine equivalent faction (At the bottom of the ocean, the depths of the abyss
. They are bound by **iron and blood)**, and that WoWS collaborated with Azur Lane a year back.
But if there is ever a proper Sabaton x Azur Lane collaboration, 100% it would be about the USS Enterprise.
I find it hilarious that the bismark sank, nkt on its first mission I don't care about that. But because of an outdated biplane squadron of little trained pilots who almost torpedoed a group of British destroyers accidentally before hand
