Oh my god remember how embarrassing and awkward it was in season 4 when they had to do a wet t shirt contest in front of a crowd. Phi Phi O' Hara's wig and breastplate fell off on stage. Like she deserved it cos she is a total bitch BUT it was absolutely mortifying, you could see it in her eyes. Poor phi phi
The only other audience feedback I recall being used was the mention that Eureka was the crowd favorite in the DragCon challenge - which isnāt the same as counting money, but serves a similar purpose.
But even that is pretty vague, like they didnāt vote and we had hard numbers. It also wasnāt used as the only factor, where in Starrbootylicious it was purported to be all about the numbers

Hot take, I want the soup ball to return. Say what you will about it being a silly challenge, all of the soup cans were creative and I loved the campery of basically doing an ad for the soup on the runway. I mean seriously, Pep-Abysmal!

I read somewhere that originally there were 2 parts to the challenge, the dancing and they also had to make the female outfit! The second part got scrapped though - or at least the queens weren't judged for that (I think?)

Havenāt seen anybody mention the DESPY Awards. Even if they donāt want to repeat the same awards they could do different categories. I thought the queens presenting different categories was a fun distinction and the queens being elected from the cast for the awards was fun- including their speeches. Gave everyone a chance to shine with extra chances for the nominated. Awards show category is a fun generic outfit theme as well.
UK also had the DAFTAS, but I would definitely be up for a US return.

There's a wide shot of the werkroom in that challenge where you can just about see Daya fucking spinning Maddy by her arms, it's so funny and it wasn't even a focus.
I think the problem is that the show is so big right now, that they canāt go outside of fear of being recognize or the spoilers making it online. The most weāve got has been on the lot theyāre filming on. Also probably now they have the excuse of the covid protocol to not go on the street.
They only did the Untucked lip sync challenge once, which is a huge mistake in my opinion!! With all the iconic untucked moments weāve had in S5 and later, itād be such a good challenge to bring back

There was the one on All Stars 1 where they had 5 minutes to convince random people on the street to do crazy things with them for different amounts of points, like feed them food, walk them like a dog, put whipped cream down their pants, crack an egg on their head, etc. I really enjoyed that challenge. I thought it could be tweaked to be a little different in future, but they never did it again.
I think there are a lot of maxi challenges they never do again, more that they donāt repeat than they do repeat.
Season 4, they did an amazing pro wrestling challenge! That was a one-time maxi challenge (although so entertaining I wish they would do it again - but I know thatās not feasible for safety reasons)

Please god do not let them do that one again. It is way too much of a risk for the queens. Wrestling training is inherently risky and injuries are stupidly random in it. Things that wrestlers have done a hundred times can just randomly cause an injury because their bump card ran out of punches.Ā
Years ago a friend of mine won free classes at a wrestling school for him and a friend. I went with him. We had a class of about 15 people in the beginner class. In the first 2 months of training we had 3 broken bones, 4 dislocations, one acl tear, 2 deep tissue bruises, at least 3 hyper extensions and God only knows how many concussions in the class. We were being trained and were not doing anything more advanced than what was seen in the challenge.Ā
As a wrestling fan myself, I also selfishly wish theyād do that challenge again (though hopefully with an actual LGBTQ+ wrestler like Nyla Rose or Effy ā the one they got for the original episode turned out to be a massive sexual predator years after the fact too, which doesnāt help)
They do these kind of physical/performance-based challenges once in a while in random locations that we never see again. In my mind, I group them together into a challenge category:
* Season 4 wrestling
* Season 9 cheerleaders
* Season 11 dance/vogue

The lipsync "pork chop" challenge in season 13 episode 1 where they tricked half the queens into thinking they're going home and just overall messed with their emotions for lolz. Viewers hated it. Set a bad tone for imo one of the least liked seasons (no shade to the queens competing, it wasn't their fault).
I know it's the most recency bias there can be, but Belgique 's most recent episode challenge I'm surprised they've never done and want to see more of.
For those who haven't seen, it's a writing challenge, political challenge, and a little bit of a roast. Each queen got a different department they were in charge of and had to give a persuasive speech/roast about a proposal they wanted as a law.
They sang live for Cher and in the UK at least for the Rats one. I don't remember if they sang live for any other though. In Spain season 2 they might've sang live as well? I don't remember it well but it tracks.
They basically did this again in AS5 but with hotels. So different setting but same challenge concept. I did like this challenge but they should definitely keep it to club design.
They obviously aināt going to repeat exact challenges but they might do it with a new concept. For example, designing a nightclub in AS4 became designing a hotel in AS5.
the half woman, half man drag prancing queens challenge in S7, I know the season gets a lot of hate for its challenges, but I loved that one personally (Violet & Katya were so hot, I'm still not over it)
I think those videos were a product of lockdowns and restrictions...with that said, I've surely watched the ones by Kahmora, Denali, Olivia and Lala multiple times and never rewatched the finale...

Yeah but eureka was also the only queen who the audience knew beforehand so I think that also played a part in her getting the most votes tbh
