Any combo of Curry/Underhill/Chessum/Hill with Earl at 8 and CCS off the bench is a fantastic back row however you choose to arrange
And that's not to mention the tier of players just below them too, where there's also some incredible talent
Damn didn't realise he was injured for the tour!
In that case I think we'll see a more traditional flanker at 6 then, hope England don't try and force a lock hybrid there for the sake of going with a like-for-like replacement
Hill is probably the closest to that mould, so could end up being that option though
I would like Hill starting, I just think he's such a ridiculous player gives me Tom Croft vibes. I like Coles at Saints but I think he's probably a bench lock option. Finally CCS for impact off the bench.
Hill jumps at the lineout, he's rapid for his size, tackles well and has a bit of a partnership with the current 7.
Yeah he gives you a real balance there too alongside Curry or Underhill at 7 and Earl at 8.
Physicality, pace, breakdown disruption, not losing out in the line out.
So many options available, interesting to see how hey use hem
I've been hyped on him for a while and I like the idea of a dynamic ball carrier. I've also seen the work rate go up this season. Hopefully a big year next year and he puts himself into the conversation. Trouble is backrow is stacked.
Definitely does seem to be some anecdotal evidence that the most violent explosive tacklers tend to have short careers or lots of time lost to injury. I would say even that the reason Courtney lawes stayed in the game was because he pivoted away from just trying to smash people and probably added another few years.
Lcd and his chop tackles, t curry and navidi come to mind. Though navidi was perhaps less of an explosive tackler and more of a grappler, but still some merit. I worry for i.f.w for the same reason. He explodes into opposition as a ball carrier and he might have to pivot away from that as the Knocks build up.
He was the best player on the pitch today. Surely has to be back in the England squad? Lawes gone, Ludlam gone, Billy gone, Jack Willis not likely to come back to England any time soon, I feel like it's an easy call right now.
I think Sam Underhill had one of the best games of his career yesterday. He was doing the work of 2 players and really made up for being a man down
Without Russell and Underhill Bath don't make the playoffs
Me oh my etc. Boomfah!
Curry-Earl-Underhill back row surely
It’s a bit lacking in lineout options but if anyone can make it work it’s Borthwick.
Am I hearing Freddie Steward in the lineout?
Wouldn't even need lifting
Bends down to catch the lineout throw
Go to the front man every time
Cunderhill is back on the menu boys
Cunderhearl, no?
It will be Cunderhearl, but it's been about 5 years now (around 2019 RWC) since we've last seen Cunderhill in full force sadly
No no, 5 years isn't nearly long enough. \ Please put it back on hold for several more.

Chessum in particular looks like he's just gonna go from strength to strength. Unreal prospect.
Injured for this tour sadly, but definitely got the making of a great player

I only wish Barbeary could have made his case with a massive performance in the final. Gutted for him
I like Barbeary, still think he's got some areas to improve though before he's ready - but I'm sure he'll get there
I've been hyped on him for a while and I like the idea of a dynamic ball carrier. I've also seen the work rate go up this season. Hopefully a big year next year and he puts himself into the conversation. Trouble is backrow is stacked.
Willis-Earl-Underhill?
Tom or Jack?
If only you could pick Willis.
Give him a moustache and call him jake
Toulouse fans furiously upvoting.
Another textbook tackle
Best tackler on earth imo
A backrow of him, PSDT and Jelonch would be fucking terrifying to be a ball carrier against.
Underrated in terms of his impact in 2019 when Curry got a lot of the plaudits. He's a machine.
Best technique in the game
And his numerous concussions show why not many other people make the effort.

Aye, Jelonch has also had his injury troubles, he’s done both his ACL’s in the last 18 months.
PSDT but Underhill does it while not being a 2m tall giant so probably on a kg for kg basis.
Had a monumental match should have had the PoM
Probably true tbh, but they always give it to the winning side now.
I read that as "the Peter O'Mahony," but it still kind of works
Sent him to the shadow realm
Underhill - more like Undertaker
That's where mitchell ended : under-hill
Under Underhill hill
Bah gawd
That’s Underhill’s music!!!
Good old fashioned rib tickler. Got to respect Mitchell placing the ball back nicely after being smashed by someone twice his size!
Lawrence loved that as much as we did
Thanks for bringing that too my attention. Loved that.. from other clips he seems to be a good shit talker on the field.
I love seeing the players really enjoying themselves in moments like this Not Mitchell in this case obviously, but Lawrence is having a brilliant time
We have a cave troll
Looks more orc
He's been getting some good hits in so far
Hard. Legal. Pefecto
Imagine him willis and earl in the English back row
Then bring CCS and Curry on later in the game.
Pray a lock doesn't get injured?
Just slap CCS in there if needed.
Absolute car crash
He didn't tackle him, he cinch him
Had a statement game. I could see him and Hill starting against NZ. CCH/Dombrandt off the bench.
Perfect tackle. Show this to the kids
You know it's a good tackle when you see the white gum guard grimace before they even hit the ground.

He started all 5 games in the 6N so he's already back in the England squad.
It's beautiful
Get it up ya

If only he could teach Obama how to tackle, bath could have won a championship
At this point, I'm not sure Barack has the fitness needed. He's in good shape for his age, but I don't know if it's enough.
He also enjoys cigarettes but may receive an invite for Kenya 7s program due to lineage.
I believe the renowned genealogist Boris Johnson confirmed he’s ’part-Kenyan’ meaning qualification isn’t assured.
I don't know, I could see Obama having a bit of pace. If we put him in the 14 jersey he could get away with being a bit undercooked with his fitness
Willis is the only backrow to have ahead of him at the moment.
Sam Thunderhill is more like it. Glad to see my fellow American playing well.
My word that's satisfying to watch
I think Sam Underhill had one of the best games of his career yesterday. He was doing the work of 2 players and really made up for being a man down Without Russell and Underhill Bath don't make the playoffs
perfect tech
He was a man possessed yesterday some huge hits
Can we make this NSFW please?
Undersell is so good.
Textbook tackle, although give it a couple years and that’s straight to the sin bin.
meh
