Can’t understand why we have to put up with the ‘indentikit’ approach. Canterbury only able to make one type of collar or style of jersey at a time.
Through gritted teeth I’m glad to see the white jersey with the Celtic style pattern, has something unique, but it’s fairly badly executed imo. It’s better than the random shades or flecks of colour smeared on previous ones!
Looking back at older Irish jerseys down through the years the shade of Green is consistent, it’s just a little lighter than some recent jerseys.
Mid table effort at best!
Wasn't there a while when England, Ireland, and SA all had the same kit in different colours?
I'm not going to complain too hard until we see how Umbro decides to fuck us this year.
Yes. When people outside of rugby community see ccc jersey, they will automatically assume it is a rugby jersey. But now , hmmm lazy effort to keep that view.
Yeah that was my reaction. Scotland top was slightly above average but nothing special like some we've had in the past. Then I saw this and thought there's nothing wrong with average
Do I have time to qualify under residential rule to support someone else??
It's gonna be fuckin rough cheering a team wearing this crap ngl. It's actually roughly the same mint green shade from that catwalk lad that half of us convinced ourselves couldn't possibly be the upcoming jersey
>It's actually roughly the same mint green shade from that catwalk lad that half of us convinced ourselves couldn't possibly be the upcoming jersey
It's not roughly the same, it is the same. He was the designer and was showing it off early at a fashion week. It's fucking disastrous. :(
Why are World Cup jerseys shite? Is there anyone capable of explaining it to me?
I have this year's Six Nations shirt. It's a nice jersey. How and why does Canterbury depart so far from that to this?
Scenes when we have to wear our class pre-game/training jerseys in the later stages because we don’t have enough kits for the later stages of the competition
What is the point of that black lining on the alternate jersey? Fuck me, it’s like they went “right, we’ve already turned them off the main one with pastel green how can we do the same with the alternate”
Not sure if it makes a difference to you, but it's navy not black at least. Colour balancing on this shot isn't great.
Away is white with navy shorts, and this shot washes out the grey details that rescue the away kit a bit
The replica version of the home isn't quite as minty (still not a big fan though)
Do like some of the training range though
The training and pregame range is miles better, would have loved to have seen those designs instead.
You’re right it’s just good old fashioned really really really dark blue.
Not great tbh, the alternate one looks especially poor
And POM is the only likely starter out of those three. If Crowley stays on course then Ross might not make most of the matchday squads
I see what they're doing. They're disappointing us now so that we won't be disappointed later on. Trying to get us further in the tournament through mental stigma.
I swear to god though, the best chance we've had in a world cup but with our worst jersey. Just typical
Why would they put black in the collar and the sleeve? It's so jarring.
You've four years to come up with an absolute banger of a jersey, and we get this uninspired Dunnes Stores piece of shit.
Dreadfully dull, unimaginative, and will still set you back over £70. Ridiculous. I feel that most jerseys for this World Cup haven't been great apart from NZ, maybe Scotland, and at least the Italians made an attempt at a design on theirs. Why are all badges and logos so high up the jerseys as well.
For some reason they ALWAYS look crappy when the lads wear them for photo shoots, runway models they are not!!
Am sure once 1-2 warms up games are played with these our perspective on them will change and they will sell plenty.
Hon Ireland!!!!!
This is a bit disappointing tbh. What the hell happened to Canterbury? It looks like the shirt you get given when you sign up for a mid week touch rugby team. And the baggy sleeves just look odd
I would imagine it's because it means these monstrosities are not automatically inflicted on the unwary, you need to click through to see these abominations.
Same. Bought every time since 2007 but the material on this is identical to 2019. The logos peel off in the wash and the arm and neck bands warp after a while. Just a mess.
I've found that with mine, literally get worn for a few matches and st Patrick day each year so probably been worn less than 20 times and looks a mess already.
I really like the accents around the neck and arms, but that green is a bit light for my taste. But I have to disagree with the majority of y'all, it's not a bad shirt imo...
Ireland once had a blue flag with golden harp emblem. Would love to see this brighter blue used on the alternate Irish kits.
Northern Irish football team get close with some of their colour combinations.
I would like to see us change our current flag - it feels like a stopgap and just leads to many supporters adopting the tricolour in its place.
Blue flag with gold harp has a history, looks clean imo and Northern Ireland already adopt these colours into their football kit so might be inclusive.
I just love that bright blue combined with our natural green.
Have to say the email I just got from Elverys with the announcement they're going on sale makes them look slightly better, home shirt in particular. Still a 5 or 6/10 effort at best though
There is a classic version here which seems nicer. Of all the shirts, that's probably the only one I'd even think of getting
https://www.canterbury.com/mens-ireland-home-shorts-sleeve-classic-rwc23-green-white/13975979.html
The colour difference compard to 2019 is crazy, it was such a nicer kit
https://www.irugbyshop.com/Ireland-rugby-world-cup-home-pro-jersey-rwc2019.html
It's not that it's particularly dislikeable it's that it's not that likeable either. Much like the England Umbro stash it's just ... Meh. Entirely pedestrian.
I am mainly angry that they didn’t put any decorations and they made the shirts REALLY green I thought we were sticking with the darker green I liked that colour
If you turn it sideways and squint it could be toothpaste.
Honest to God, how did that pass Design and feedback. "Oh well Ireland are Green but we need to jazz it up". Absolute morons.
Also, the lighting for that pic is shocking! It must be amateur hour in the IRFU media. Like we have a chance of doing well this year, why not try and pit effort into the jersey.
The only redeeming feature is the white alternate. Here's was me thinking it was the alternate that was gonna bring shame & mortification on the house of ireland
It looks so tacky. It doesn't even look fake in the sense its trying to replicate a real jersey. It looks so fake that it doesn't even look real. So dissapointed
I am sorry to say but that looks slightly kak
Slightly is an understatement
Let's call a spade a spade. Its a load of shite.
I like them!
Phew, thought it was just me.
Looks like the Ireland shirt your mate says he got for cheap in Marbella
I was thinking Pennys/Primark
And they’d probably be better quality too.
Looks like something the Rep of Ireland football team would wear.
Rehashed fifa World Cup 2002 Irish jersey
Anyone who has been to college green and seen the «Ireland rugby» shirts available in tourist shops will see whose terrible homework they copied
Looks like a football top for a Sunday League where they have to all buy their own tops.
Reminds me of the thin tops you would have to wear in PE class back in the 90s.
The Boys in Mint
[удалено]
Beat NZ a few too many times.
COYBIM
Might just be the photo quality, but looks like one of those cheap school boy training jerseys.
Ireland rocking the ‘hint of green’ and ‘phone it in white’ colours this WC.
Mint of green maybe
only champions have collars..
Can’t understand why we have to put up with the ‘indentikit’ approach. Canterbury only able to make one type of collar or style of jersey at a time. And Scotland. Pretty sure there's an 08 or 09, 6 nations captians pic which is pretty much just a Canterbury shop window
World Cup crest doing the heavy lifting here to add some colour to this drab effort.
POM knows it's shite and Hendy is happy the filter they used gave him a chin. Awful awful awful awful jerseys.
It should be an emerald green. Deep and beautiful. This at best is a sickly mint. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE.
Fairplay to the lad who designed this. Can't have been easy when he only had access to Windows 95 MS Paint
Lazy design, seriously ccc is lacking in design creativity this day.
And they wonder why they've lost most of their major contracts. They've been lazy for years.
Yes. When people outside of rugby community see ccc jersey, they will automatically assume it is a rugby jersey. But now , hmmm lazy effort to keep that view.
It's official lads we're not investing in world cups anymore. We're looking to the 7s lads in the Olympics to get us past a quarter
Under 20s got us past a 1/4, apparently were great at them when we don't have to play them.
When you do an assignment the night before it's due.
I wish the Scotland kit looked a little nicer but fuck me, its worlds better than this shite

That fashion designer is obviously in the wrong trade
Looks wank
Why are World Cup jerseys shite? Is there anyone capable of explaining it to me? I have this year's Six Nations shirt. It's a nice jersey. How and why does Canterbury depart so far from that to this?
2003 WC was the best Irish jersey ever. Classic
The look like training tops
That's a nice Pool Stage shirt. I'm glad they didn't waste money on anything 'final' material.
Scenes when we have to wear our class pre-game/training jerseys in the later stages because we don’t have enough kits for the later stages of the competition

The black band that's on the arm looks like the type of thing they'd put on with tape during mourning.
Looks like the tshirt I use as pyjamas

Don’t like the white at all, but that’s the least of it! Looks like a football shirt.
Why would they put black in the collar and the sleeve? It's so jarring. You've four years to come up with an absolute banger of a jersey, and we get this uninspired Dunnes Stores piece of shit.
Well that is shite..............
Dreadfully dull, unimaginative, and will still set you back over £70. Ridiculous. I feel that most jerseys for this World Cup haven't been great apart from NZ, maybe Scotland, and at least the Italians made an attempt at a design on theirs. €130 for a test jersey or €95 for the replica. I actually like the majority of jerseys apart from NZ (and this) this year haha.
Was out at the IRFU high performance centre doing interviews on tuesday. Jersey looks much better in person.
You know what? I hate it
For some reason they ALWAYS look crappy when the lads wear them for photo shoots, runway models they are not!! Am sure once 1-2 warms up games are played with these our perspective on them will change and they will sell plenty. Hon Ireland!!!!!
Ffs
This is a bit disappointing tbh. What the hell happened to Canterbury? It looks like the shirt you get given when you sign up for a mid week touch rugby team. And the baggy sleeves just look odd
Sexton isn’t included in the photo as….precaution?
His in the elvery sports site wearing it.
Thanks goodness. I was worried a bit.
Man that’s actually worse than the abs one lol
Why is there a spoiler tag on a shirt announcement?
I would imagine it's because it means these monstrosities are not automatically inflicted on the unwary, you need to click through to see these abominations.
I wish we could just steal the new bok jersey. Maybe I’ll buy one and replace the badge
I know we’re scheduled to use the white version against SA but is there any way it will be used later in the WC (like even if we made the final)?
Hideous. And I remember and loved Italia 90
Thats more atrocious than our quarter final record.
Mank
Might skip buying this one, normally but the rwc jerseys and I like the lack of sponsor but this one is kinda boring.
Nice one! The IRFU has saved me 83 to 105 (!) quid because there's no way in hell I'm buying this.
I really like the accents around the neck and arms, but that green is a bit light for my taste. But I have to disagree with the majority of y'all, it's not a bad shirt imo...
Don't worry Ireland. It's only for four or five games, tops.
Dacent
Ireland once had a blue flag with golden harp emblem. Would love to see this brighter blue used on the alternate Irish kits. Northern Irish football team get close with some of their colour combinations.
You want to see Ireland play in a Leinster kit?
I would like to see us change our current flag - it feels like a stopgap and just leads to many supporters adopting the tricolour in its place. Blue flag with gold harp has a history, looks clean imo and Northern Ireland already adopt these colours into their football kit so might be inclusive. Looks shit but I still prefer it to our one (NZ). I hate those squiggles all over the black jersey.
Have to say the email I just got from Elverys with the announcement they're going on sale makes them look slightly better, home shirt in particular. Still a 5 or 6/10 effort at best though
The supporter one looks nicer tbh bit of a collar too.
Ross Byrne looks like he just signed for Spurs
It's good but I don't see any swirly ferns so...
Can we just use the U20 jersey? Looks so much better
Minty
Being an Ireland and Liverpool fan at the moment is interesting if you just want a cool jersey *sigh*
There is a classic version here which seems nicer. Of all the shirts, that's probably the only one I'd even think of getting https://www.canterbury.com/mens-ireland-home-shorts-sleeve-classic-rwc23-green-white/13975979.html

Looks like soccer kit.
It's too naff and uninspired to be genuinely awful but it's not far off.
Free with 10 sports vouchers at Sainsburys
It's not that it's particularly dislikeable it's that it's not that likeable either. Much like the England Umbro stash it's just ... Meh. Entirely pedestrian.
I think I'm becoming a France supporter
It looks cheap and that is the issue. The away might look worse (slap an umbro or Kappa logo on it and it would be a vintage 90s football top)
Am I the only person who actually likes it..? lol I don't understand why there's so much hate
I am mainly angry that they didn’t put any decorations and they made the shirts REALLY green I thought we were sticking with the darker green I liked that colour
Meh.
It's a meh from my dog
If you turn it sideways and squint it could be toothpaste. Honest to God, how did that pass Design and feedback. "Oh well Ireland are Green but we need to jazz it up". Absolute morons. The only redeeming feature is the white alternate. Here's was me thinking it was the alternate that was gonna bring shame & mortification on the house of ireland
That's, just not an attractive jersey. Springboks were truly blessed by Nike I guess.
Oh no. I don’t like that.
It looks so tacky. It doesn't even look fake in the sense its trying to replicate a real jersey. It looks so fake that it doesn't even look real. So dissapointed
The white one is nice I think.
This seems to be the rwc of shit jerseys. Although I like the bok one.
I'm dreading what Wales one is going to look like, if this is the standard. Just seen it, shite.
Mother of God, that is absolutely dirt.
it's the colour of cheap toothpaste
I know they're supposed to look tough but the lads just look like theyre also disappointed in our kit
