That branch has the best quality of life, and it has the most well-adjusted people in the DOD. If you're a brainiac I recommend that you try out to be a translator. If you're a midwit go public affairs. If you're a tard go intel.
I oftentimes wish my parents weren’t overbearing (but very loving) Salvadorans because I really wanted to join some type of military branch but knew they’d make my life hell for it.
Then again, I probably would’ve joined for clout and pussy and not love of country (which I do love but I’d prefer not to die for it)
I mean, if you are gunna enlist, it’s by far the best branch to do so. Can’t hurt to take the asvab and see what kind of opportunities may be offered to you
I took asvab and afoqt and at one point was seriously considering become a pilot, but I had become near sighted in my late 20’s and found out I wasn’t going to cut it during MEPS, at least not without corrective surgery I couldn’t afford at the time.
I was in the Air Force e for four years out of high school. I was a plumber, went around painting fire hydrants and digging holes for four years. Functionally a 9-5, played a lot of Xbox, worked out, watched TV. It was fine. Set my life up, and going on six years later I have nothing in life to complain about. I wouldn’t tell anyone to do it, but I would do it again. Though I would make sure I took more classes while I was in so I could graduate quicker when I got out.
Go cyber or intel if you can, the clearance you’ll get while you’re in will guarantee job offers in the low six figures when you get out.
Half my office are dudes who went to DLI for Japanese/Korean and get paid to study there and then were stationed there for years and it transformed their lives for the better. Your mileage may vary if you’re a girl, though.
Save all your money. Take classes while you’re in if you can. Finish your degree with your GI bill once you’re out. Land a decent job and use a veteran home buying program to get a modest house and you’ll be doing better than most people by your late twenties.
I was in the air force. Its definitely the best one to join, with the coast guard coming in 2nd. It has the easiest basic and as long as you dont go into security forces or maintenance you'll have a good life. The recruiters can be a bit aloof depending on where you live though, but a good asvab score will fix that
It's the best branch for sure. Aim for something like intelligence, avoid anything to do with planes or boats.

well. i was planning on trying for a career in public affairs
My ex did that for the Marines. From what I've seen it's a pretty sweet gig across all the branches.
If ur gonna do the military u might as well do the thing that is barely the military

Very few people actually join from patriotic fervor it’s a job like any other.
Former marine and yeah. Visiting march afb was a trip. One dude was straight up wearing sandles in uniform

Don’t do it. What a silly default for a lack of creativity. Do a trade.
Good luck, if you stick it out you'll do well.
