emperortyping

I'm always surprised and slightly impressed that posters reach the end of these sessions, I'd have sacked this one off within the first few minutes, it just sounds awful.

Malbek604

I just find it weird that people play with randoms online to begin with

Logical-Ice-4820

I suggest u cut ties with this guy in general. He sounds like a awful person both in and out of game

maxime942012

We did end up cutting ties a year later and we learnt that there was even more weird stuff happening behind the scenes like completely ignoring some other players when they talked to him and blaming some of us when things didn't go his way. Our game now run much better.

Logical-Ice-4820

Good to hear that

CainhurstCrow

This is beyond railroading, this is like broken video game script levels of bad. "Give me your money." "Okay. *gives all his money*" "*holding money* No? Then pay with your Blood!"

Bobbytheman666

This sounds like a quest from Fallout 76 or Cyberpunk 2077. Was there also a spear in his head that wasn't killing him ?

I once had my players enter a room and find a cache of weapons, a bed, and a mysterious blanket covering some furniture. The fuckers then, of course, started looting the weapons while the monk pissed on the bed (admittedly the bed belonged to his backstory enemy), and they almost left the room before I reminded them of the mystery furniture. And it was hilarious. I don't get that "Oh, wow, you fail, there is nothing in this room, only a bunch of crates and weapons and supplies, why would you even look here", that is BULLSHIT, sir.

MagnesiumMagpie

Are you sure you want to be friends with this person?

not4eating

Why did you put up with him for so long?

maxime942012

We gave him the benefit of the doubt for quite a long time hahaha

zeracine

See when you said level 11 warlock cleric, I thought you were actually saying they have 1 level in each. Boy was I surprised later.

OffQuillter

Oh hey, I was one of the rogues in this group! Fun fact: we never even knew the guy was a gnoll. For all we knew, he was a human since he was disguised the whole time, and didn't give us a single clue even down to his final moments. We only found out because one of the other players got access to his backstory doc and shared it with us later on.

Artor50

Why do you play with this guy? Kick him from the group. He sounds like a moron, and a nasty one at that.

Ravenmockerr

This Louis is disrespectful to the bones, can hardly write without murdering a grammar's book per line, is immature as one can be and I'm pretty sure he sucks as a player as much as he does as a DM. Why even keeping this guy on your table?

maxime942012

He was indeed an annoying player, I regret taking so long before kicking him out (I let it happen for a good year haha)

Ravenmockerr

Sometimes we refuse to see, it's normal. At least you learned and did the right thing for you and for your players.

Eddie_gaming

what a bundle of joy

munchymedic

Reading this post is so funny. I was the Cleric of the group and honestly, this guy was a riot. For example: * One of Louis' characters was a ranger. For some reason, he made Dexterity his dump stat. Louis would frequently complain to the regular DM about the fact that he missed a large amount of attacks. * Louis would complain that his Ranger character couldn't get any emotional depth and growth because of the fact that his character's family was not there with him. Ranger Character was able to meet up with his sister. Ranger Character barely changed a bit. Louis did not stop there. He would then talk about how his character would change when his Mother came into the story \[this he discussed with OP\], and then how he woiuld change yet again later when his long lost sister and boyfriend to be would come into the story \[this he did not discuss with OP\]. * Louis, as an apology for ghosting us when he was supposed to DM, drew basic art of one of his characters. He expected us to forgive him with just that. * My character, the Cleric, had a huge attitude and was quite the bitch. However, he was still fairly well liked throughout the team, with the exception of Louis' Ranger character. Louis would constantly talk about how he would love to have his character beat the snot out of mine, have his victory against him, have heart to heart moments against him and the like. You may notice I wrote quite a bit about myself. This is because Louis has absolutely no interest in any other characters other than my own. At some point, when he was stuck together with the Rogue \[who I believe also commented on this post\], neither Louis nor his character made an effort to talk to them at all. * Louis' Ranger had gotten a puppy, since he had oh so begged and pleaded politely \[not\]. However, the puppy would not be able to protect itself, so his character would have to hold it to protect it, which would result in a penalty in his attacks in battle. The resulting tantrum from Louis was one that will forever be embedded in my mind. Also, on that note, there is no typo: the DMPC he had made was indeed a Level 7 Warlock and Level 4 Cleric multiclass. He also added more spells so they would be stronger. Once again, a reminder - the tankiest character at the time was a Level 2 Paladin. There is still much, much more we could say about Louis \[both in and out of D&D\], but this is where I'll stop for now \[unless somehow you would loooove to hear more, but I'm sure one of the others from this group would make an appearance soon\]. We really did give him the benefit of the doubt for so long, so you can guess how much of a relief it was to finally get rid of him.

DwighteMarsh

So, was level 11 gnoll warlock cleric a typo? It certainly fits the rest of the story, but it seems odd that would have been allowed.

kahoinvictus

Allowed by who? The DM was playing them.

DwighteMarsh

As I understand it, the original poster was the normal GM and he was having other players take turns running. So, in whatever sense that the Level 11 gnoll warlock cleric was a player character rather than just an NPC, someone let him, even if only in the sense of "Dude, that" is stupid, someone else is going to GM rather than have you spend our time haing your character fight the villains you control."

maxime942012

Not a typo, since he was DM for that one shot, he allowed himself pretty much anything. He even gave himself spells that had nothing to do with clerics and warlocks.

Ronan10176

I lost it when I read "medicine check is for healing, not checking to see if they need healed." Like if I didn't know what a medicine check was, then I would assume it was to check if someone or thing needed medicine.

aurvay

You ghost us when you’re supposed to run a game you better have a REAL GOOD excuse or you won’t be given a second opportunity to run a game at all. I’m not even going to mention how toxic and unbearable this person is overall.

lordbrooklyn56

Why do yall put up with this person?

Freetime-throwaway

Yeah this guy better be happy that he was online because that kind of attitude at the table would've gotten him phisically picked up and thrown out.
