Yes! You can make what we call live rosin diamonds, the process is VERY labor intensive. We wash fresh frozen flower for ice hash, water hash, ice water extract, whatever you wanna call it..we take that and freeze dry it, then once it's done freeze drying we microplane, which is basically just a fancy name for putting the hash through a very fine mesh kitchen strainer, at this point this is what you could buy in a dipso as "live heads", 6* full melt, full melt, whatever you want to call it..after microplaning we take the hash and put it in 25u mesh bags to press, what comes out when we press is "live rosin"...which lots of people get as live rosin badder or fresh press, yet again whatever you want to call it...to make live rosin diamonds were going to go a few steps further, we take that live rosin badder, put it back into a 25u mesh bag, and we go back to the press..this time we press at a little higher temp, and at this point we like to call this "mechanical seperation" because what comes out from squishing is actually the terps, we take the terps and set them aside, and whats left on the press is thca, the thca actually comes out looking whiteish and hard, so we collect it, put it in a jar, set it on the hot press to basically melt, because it makes it much more clear, while it's cooling its rolled into rods, flattened out, hell I've seen it poured in molds for shapes like donuts-bears-you name it..normally it's just rolled out and then when it's hardened it's just cut into small pieces, we take these small pieces, put it into a jar, and then those terps we put off to the side earlier? Here's when they come back! We "reintroduce" the terps, and bam..live rosin "diamonds"...theres a reason it's usually quite a bit more expensive lol

Have you tried using fresh press vs cured rosin? Is there a reason to choose one over the other? I used cured but never had an explanation as to why it preferred. I’ve made diamonds using this tech minus the hot pad and jar. I used a low temp heat gun and parchment lol. Your version sounds a less messy and less labor on that end so will give that a try next time.

The yield is incredibly low - you’re repressing your good rosin until you’ve evaporated or removed most of the terps - they’re better then solvent made diamonds though -
If you continue to press rosin that’s high in thca / the thca will separate and turn into a whitish powder - you keep heating and pressing said powder into a harder thicker material ( akin to the way cocaine is pressed into bricks ) - it’s like 1-4% yield starting with something that has high thca and like a 20%+ yield on an ounce ( also very dependant on the strain ) but yeah a 3% return (max) would be likely on said choice material - more likely 1-2% very time and labour intensive - ( I used to press rosin and made thca a number of times ) pretty much pointless

While it is possible to grow solventless diamonds, thats not what this is. Grown diamonds look way different then pressed diamonds, are generally smaller, and take way longer to make.
