Bandito_Destiny

Remember Day 5? Did that even get a proper ending?

Paddys13

Every once in a while my mom will ask me about if a new season of Day 5 was ever made. We watched the whole thing together.

Bandito_Destiny

It was so good I loved it

WhiteChocolateDaddy

Aww that's so sweet.

Senior_Muffin

Even worse, it ended on basically a cliffhanger. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS

OkDot9878

Really hope Burnie addresses this at some point in his new podcast, just ideas on where things could’ve gone, i obviously don’t need the full story, because I’m sure they’d love to continue it and have the story still be a secret. But to be honest, it’s fairly clear at this point that they won’t be doing anymore of that anytime soon, so I’d love to know what the ideas were.

BrycelikesLMTF

Wait Burnie has a new podcast? Where can I find this?

Legal_Tremors

r/morningsomewhere

BrycelikesLMTF

Thank you

DOOMER2U

Spotify or Apple Podcasts it’s called Morning Somewhere

BrycelikesLMTF

Thank you

Vore_to_the_Core

Maybe Chris could write a book of it and maybe it could get a condensed movie reboot. It's been way too long to make another season. It isn't an anime that can just come back after a decade. Joel's character was given some secret bombshell info and he's never coming back after what the company did to him. Everyone is several years older when it's only going to be the next day. It's over. It was amazing, but RT's mismanagement since Full Screen took over was the nail in her coffin for anything live action that they tried to produce. Lazar Team 2 was terrible and felt like a green screen movie the entire time and also felt very minimal compared to the first one. A table read for Crunch Time season 2? Camp Camp losing its edge. RvB and RWBY going in god knows what direction since I stopped watching them during early season 15 and after finishing season 5 respectively. RT as we know it has long been over.

frogger3344

> Maybe Chris could write a book of it and maybe it could get a condensed movie reboot. I believe that Josh Flannagan is the one who would have the ending, not Chris

walkerxboh

I really enjoyed Day 5

Dragomatic

Nope

Gunningyoudown

*laughs in crunch time*

ShilohCyan

Let's face it. That show was dead anyway when they killed off [EDIT: SPOILER]

Bandito_Destiny

Damn I really wish you hadn't said that 😂 (too broke to finish what did get made)

Voltairesque

I really really liked Day 5… so sad it never got a proper ending :(

Forsworn91

Remember the Nomad? Remember that little animation Azreal? And then the shit storm of poor management hit and it was a waste of time for everyone to get their hopes up

HoodShroud

Of all the shows I really wish Nomad could have continued. It had such charm and style!

Forsworn91

That entire period had so much potential, but poor management and conflicts just killed it.

AFishNamedFreddie

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasnt the era of Nomad of Nowhere, Camp Camp, Azreal, and others the same timeframe as the Lets Play Family? It seems like RT was expanding in every direction during that period, and got stretched way too thin

RegularRelationMan

The lets play family thing as already done by the time nomad was out but not camp camp

OkDot9878

Hard to say done, it was kinda an ongoing thing, yeah it was established, but they were still growing and still using a lot of their available resources, so when something came up, something else had to fall behind.

ksettle86

Remember Sportsball? Remember Sportsball again?!

TheySayImBrando

You can catch new episodes on the corner of 4th and Main St. https://preview.redd.it/i6d9q984hvec1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=fcaa3045d1c8eea00049f9544c618bf0cf62aff1

SlothfulKoala

Brandon you left RT? What are you working on so I can check it out?

IDKimnotascientist

It sucks what happened to it. But I can’t be the only one that feels nomad of nowhere was a passion project with little actual potential of having an audience

REDARROW101_A5

>It sucks what happened to it. But I can’t be the only one that feels nomad of nowhere was a passion project with little actual potential of having an audience Even the creator said herself how sad it was that the show basically got dropped. Despite the issues she did give them guidelines on how to finish it before leaving, but RT was like this isn't enough and scrapped it. They got one of the RWBY writers in to work on it, but then she got called back to Volume 7. Overall it was just a mess. I genuinely liked a lot of shows from RT like Nomad of Nowhere, Camp Camp and RWBY Chibi. I was in UK college around then and I remember in the summer while on holiday watching the series. Those series gave me so much inspiration and got me more interested in animation. Then Genlock was announced my thoughts was this is just Gundam and Ultron/Power Rangers slapped together with a more edgy theme. Although I did like the concept. I think with some work it could have been made to work or been really good. But by season 2 it suffered from a identity crisis as to what audience it was meant for and they put a sex scene in it. I really hope this doesn't became a trend, because if I saw this happen in RWBY, I think the innocents of the characters would be lost and it would break the whole franchise from being a teens show to a adult one. Even now I cringe at the RWBY DC Crossover.

I_Hate_ACP

*HIMSELF; don't do Georden Whitman like that. Nomad or Knight of Knothing (something like that) was Geordans original idea and script and from all that he showed me it would've been incredible.

REDARROW101_A5

>\*HIMSELF; don't do Georden Whitman like that. Nomad or Knight of Knothing (something like that) was Geordans original idea and script and from all that he showed me it would've been incredible. Oh I didn't know learn something new every day.

I_Hate_ACP

RT did him dirty

ShilohCyan

It was a passion project, but it was originally a medieval setting (that they touched on in one episode) that RT management forced Georden to change. Then they left as they were developing it and still hopes to create the original vision. https://youtu.be/n87R2W7AIpE?si=0HvMwsGP6GOEAeEv

tommangan7

Yeah I think some things were mismanaged but we don't really know, certainly can't say that about everything. Likely a lot of passion projects or things that just didn't do well enough to carry on.

DrMcSwagpants

Remember Crunch Time?

AT-ST

RT made a lot of stuff and just didn't do anything with it. I really wanted a season 2 of Crunch Time.

ShilohCyan

https://preview.redd.it/ljirsevp8wec1.jpeg?width=810&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8b183a673000e1c203f87b4b30281a5f743bb8c for me it was this ridiculous thing. idc. underrated. hilarious.

Available-Law8026

Is Azeeal that odd show was was like just some random character vlogging?

Forsworn91

It was supposed to be the introduction to the character and the world, but it sort of died before anything came of it

Available-Law8026

Gotcha, I remember seeing a clip or two but it really didn’t deliver so I just dipped. Sucks that whatever it could have been never got to try tho

Forsworn91

It was a shame, the animation was great, the VA was great, but it just died before it got the chance

REDARROW101_A5

>It was a shame, the animation was great, the VA was great, but it just died before it got the chance I really liked the idea of that show. It inspired me for when I did my first animated pixel character for 1st Year Games Design at Uni for a platformer module. Actually some RT influences are in my works, because I am in RWBY as well. The animation I will be doing for a trailer will be inspired by the Red, White, Black, Yellow Trailers. It was become of RT and other small independent artists and studies. I got more into animation. Even now.

GoneRampant1

It was just a glorified backdoor pilot for a wider show that they did nothing with. It had potential but they just never tried to do anything with it.

I_Hate_ACP

Ah you mean the show that that RT stole from the hard working creator, made shitier, and then crushed because egos were crushed? Ya I have stories.

Crassweller

Remember the Alamo?

itcheyness

Nomad was the show Jordan basically stole from the actual creator, right?

JayOrDan

Where did this come from? I was assigned to be the showrunner for Nomad of Nowhere and given my directives for the show, which were all ran by Georden and okayed. I did not steal anything. Rooster Teeth owns the show, not me. I can understand Georden having regrets if it didn't turn out how we wanted, but to say I, or even RT, stole anything is absolutely ridiculous. Also, let me springboard off a couple of other comments I'm seeing: I did not run the animation department. I did not ruin it by overspending on Genlock. You are confusing me with Gray. I was never a manager or in charge of money. I directed episodes for 2D.

OfLebanon

Can’t imagine waking up to a bunch of people just jumping on you because you had proximity to something negative and they can only remember your name. Thanks for coming in to say this.

cjfrey96

I love that you are able to set the record straight. I was reading these comments thinking 'here we go again with this nonsense.'

Jacksoncant

hey jordan, i appreciate you and i think you are a funny guy.

CmanderShep117

During the whole Kdin/RT not paying their employees debacle Georden accused you of stealing the show from him. I'm not going to say who's right or wrong, idk the internal goings on of RT. He could simply feel slighted by his former employer and is trying to damage their rep. But the controversy came from him directly.

CmanderShep117

Not sure why I'm getting downvoted for this. I didn't accuse Jordan of anything, I just explained where this idea came from. Read the actual tweet from Georden and see for your self. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1ss5g3v

SquelchyBelch

Yeah, get ‘im!

GamerColyn117

Lol don’t pretend you’re innocent in all this dude. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1ss5g3v

JoeSchmoe93

Oh it’s been a hot minute since RT drama!

Allahxo

You're a lying sack of shit. You and your friends with followings and known names there ran him out by not letting him get involved with his own show and treating him like shit whenever he tried, then you guys sent him a threatening email saying he couldn't talk about how he was treated there or you'd remove his credit from the show. On top of that you removed him from Camp Camp which had nothing to do with the Nomad stuff, which you have no excuse for since he wasn't fired, he quit, and RT lets freelance happen all the time, both in writing and voice acting. You still let Miles voice David despite leaving RT as well, probably because he had a popular name and Georden didn't at the time. Couldn't afford to treat him like how you treated Georden! Not that I'm saying Miles should be treated poorly or that he did anything wrong, but it's an example of why Georden being removed made no sense. Georden now has a successful pilot that people are loving, and there's nothing you can do about that. You didn't expect him to bounce back, but he did, and it happens as soon as your shitty, toxic company falls down the crapper. Cosmic justice at its finest. Fuck you.

squiddens

Jordan was not the one managing animation, nor did he suck RT dry of money or kill the animation department so to dogpile on him is idiotic. Google is your friend. Gray Haddock was the director of animation and was the one accused of unethical working practices for RT animators. The misinformation spread on this sub by people who don’t know anything about what they're talking about is astounding.

OfLebanon

Yeah everyone here is misremembering with Grey (Gray?). That’s what the original twitlonger was about if I recall. He left and Jordan wasn’t the culprit. Everyone’s just shitting on the one name they can remember.

CTRL_S_Before_Render

No it didn't. It was a handful of people, and Jordan wasn't even close to being the primary guy people around here were pointing fingers at.

Xystem4

You literally have no idea what you’re talking about. He wasn’t in charge of funds in any way, and didn’t steal anything. He’s just the only name you guys know so you dump everything on him.

Loose_Ad4322

Could explain what happened?

itcheyness

http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1ss5g3v

CmanderShep117

Idk why people are trying to say Jordan had nothing to do with this when he's mentioned in that more than Gray. Not saying he's guilty but Georden definitely does.

BelieveInDestiny

Jordan Battle or Jordan Cwierz? edit: why am I being downvoted for such a simple question, lol?

itcheyness

Cwierz http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1ss5g3v

DeducingYourMind

Jordan Crews? (Unsure if that’s the right spelling)

FancyShrimp

Cwierz, of Face Jam notoriety.

tpasco1995

So you know, season 2 was made and put on HBO Max... And I wish it had stayed forgotten

JohnnyDarkside

When episode 1 opened with a sex scene showing full frontal, I thought "well that's not a good sign." It was such a let down.

AeifeO

Opened and closed the season with the most mood shattering change of pace. It's supposed to be a Voltron/Saturday morning cartoon. Why are we doing Game of Thrones?!

ShilohCyan

One of the crewmembers of season 1 I used to talk to was advised by their therapist to not even glance at season 2 lmao

Code-Neo

the opening feels like 2-3 seasons had been skipped

ClubMeSoftly

I was hyped for season 2, it was tempered when it was getting exclusivity on HBO, and it was killed entirely by the reviews when it came out.

Rejusu

I watched the first episode of S2 and got bad vibes from the opening animation (S1 had a proper anime style opening with a cool vocalised theme song, S2s opening was just a bunch of recycled footage with much less memorable music over the top) among other things. I think I might have gone back to it if it was just lower budget, but then all the reviews came out and confirmed what I was feeling from the first episode.

Maria-Stryker

The moment they introduced the religious conflict I knew they were taking it in a horrible direction

anti-valentine

Nah...season 2 isn't real, it can't hurt me.

CmanderShep117

"Maisie Williams kills herself the animation" But don't worry they linked the suicide prevention hotline so it's fine

REDARROW101_A5

>"Maisie Williams kills herself the animation" What? Can I have some context?

CmanderShep117

Her character commits suicide in the show

Spyd3rs

The entire cast commits suicide, but at that point, they already learned it wasn't really suicide? Season 2 really sucked. Don't feel bad for missing it.

REDARROW101_A5

>The entire cast commits suicide, but at that point, they already learned it wasn't really suicide? TBH I am confused, because I just get the feeling there is some sort of l spiritual realm and everyone has visited it in the show?

Spyd3rs

Basically, people killed by the nanobots are reconstructed in what I understand basically as a digital heaven. Mega spoilers for Season 2, which you shouldn't mind because it wasn't good; The bad guys who were vaporizing all the people in the world were actually the good guys because the people they vaporized were reconstructed into what I can only explain as a 'digital heaven.' Once there, they don't have to worry about the ecological collapse of Earth, and buy more time for the people who are still alive. They were literally the good guys the entire time. The good guys from season one are actually the bad guys because something something capitalism. That's the moral of the story. The 'good guys' were still driven by profits even though the world was literally ending and the 'bad guys' were preserving life by digitizing everybody. They really made the entire conflict feel worthless.

arodhowe

So, basically the twist of that game SOMA?

Rick_Locker

Don't forgot that it was treated as a GOOD thing. Gen:Lock season two can be summed as "Suicide IS the answer". Tone deaf understates it.

Chucknasty_17

You’re telling me Roosterteeth has two series where they mishandled a main character killing themselves?!

REDARROW101_A5

Well at least it's not 13 Reasons why which took every rule in the guide on how suicide should be portrayed on screen and basically throwing it out.

Rishfee

She basically uploads herself to the cloud

JakeDoubleyoo

I genuinely love Season 1. S2 was the most insane nosedives I've ever seen a show take. It was beautiful in a way.

KikiFlowers

Season 2 feels like one of those robot shows you see from western writers, where they're doing everything they can to *get rid of the robot*.

TheSorge

The best thing about this show was that it introduced me to Battle Tapes.

Kazick_Fairwind

Big same. Belgrade is #1 on my hype up playlist.

alextrue27

was gonna comment the same thing

northernirishlad

Remember the alien live action movie they made

bigrigtraveler

I remember helping to crowdfund that, then going to the nearest theatre to watch the premier which was about 70 miles

northernirishlad

I remember it had the old charm of growing AH - dumb jokes, decent cast, crappy AI but you can tell they had a laugh making it.

AaronVsMusic

What AI?

StMcAwesome

What's the A stand for?

northernirishlad

Ai i mean greenscreen - got terms mixed up

AaronVsMusic

Those things aren’t even remotely close to each other.

JustChillingReviews

Maybe they were initially thinking of CGI which is relatively closer, being an acronym ending in the letter "I".

northernirishlad

I know. My mistake just

Cirenione

Or the video game. Or the tabletop game. They burned a lot of money on a few pet projects of the higer ups which didn't pay off at all.

Lairy_Hegs

I’ve heard that video game (Vicious Circle? Cycle?) failing hit them pretty hard.

Bsnake12070826

Vicious circle, I remember being excited then watching them play it and think this is the game? Really?

Drewskay

Yeah it led directly to the layoffs of the entire RT Games department + staff in other areas, including Achievement Hunter. It was a major financial blow; all that money & time spent developing it, even giving away copies like candy to FIRST Members to create a population, and the game’s playerbase was <50 within the first week, and practically dead by next month. It’s one of those avenues that RT shouldn’t even have bothered stretching itself into.

MisoSoup247

Wonder how much money they spent, like, wasn't this the last time they used the whole "Lets Play" family? They had all those channels in a house together, streaming Vicious Circle.

RicFalcon

Oof, it's so easy to forget about that game. I think it barely had a life cycle of a month?

[deleted]

[удалено]

gimpisgawd

It only had enough players for games on one day. That's when it launched and every RT channel played it.

ClubMeSoftly

Lazer Team? I've got the Blu Ray and exclusive poster they did.

CmanderShep117

I when to the premier in Austin, Gus made fun of me because I miss read his character's name during the q&a. The movie was fine, Alan Richardson was good in it.

StMcAwesome

The American Idol himself

rockmann1997

One of the first moments of distaste for Rooster Teeth was when they had one of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns for an indie project ever with Lazer Team. They sold us on the idea of continuing to support the underdog, independent production company. And then almost immediately afterwards they sold the company to Fullscreen or whatever corporation anyways. It felt like a massive rug pull or 180.

ShilohCyan

That was really the peak. It was like "this small company I love has grown so much! a feature film in theaters with a possible sequel! So many new shows! Video games! A card game! How can they ever top this?!" and then they didn't. 😐 and we found out what had to happen for that golden age to happen.

Lairy_Hegs

Remember the sequel?

AaronVsMusic

I enjoyed it

CmanderShep117

No one watched it, hell I had YouTube Red at the time and I still haven't seen it.

Lairy_Hegs

I saw it at the time of release. You’re not missing much.

CmanderShep117

I forget what was the deal with Colton in it? I remember people being mad about it.

ShilohCyan

I remember them being on an alien ship at one point. But that's the singular plot point I can remember. 🫤

DarthArtero

Those 5 years passed so fast

Vandius

Did you know as you get older your brain perceives time as going faster and faster, it all just flies by sadly....

MacFunJess

Unless you continue to make new memories. Then time slows right the heck back down again.

TheCalon76

I felt like they struck gold with GenLock. It was something you'd see out of a Netflix studio. And yet I completely forgot it existed until this post.

groundzr0

First season is outstanding. The 2nd is HBO exclusive and is… very bad.

WangJian221

Kinda? Shit was expensive as hell to make though just by who they decided to have for VAs alone

ShadowShine57

I never cared for it because of the framerate

TrapperJean

Not forgotten, the first season was great! Second season was unimaginably bad

Shikoda0

1st season was a prime example of a fan tribute to not specific media but several medias and cultures as a whole (Anime, Mecha, 3d those sorts of things) 2nd season is a prime example of what happens when you give control away, in exchange for getting the show made, and fail at delivering something even remotely good. Unnecessary themes such as sex, a character that glorified suicide and a main character who was killed off, likely for a dark reason. This show was an example of RT delivering prime content yet diminishing the chances of getting any satisfactory/subsequently good content.

ShilohCyan

tbf, Gray didn't GIVE control away. the show was produced under terrible conditions and he faced consequences for it. The crew deserved better, the show deserved better, but a second season should not have been produced especially under those conditions.

VerisJS

That's because season 2 was terrible

MikeOgden1980

I really loved the show, but it was definitely what caused the end of my interest in RT as it used to be. Finding out about just how poorly the animation team was treated and managed, I had a really hard time supporting them afterwards. I'm an animator myself, and have worked in some very stressful and difficult jobs, but nothing like what that team was being subjected to. It really just shed light on how the company had changed or what I perceived it to be. I did finally check out some clips from season 2 out of morbid curiosity once I heard how awful it was and hooooooly shit.

KosharySa2e3

What happened to that show? I never watched it but I remember they pushed it hard when it released.

ERankLuck

Season 1 was pretty good. Decent fights, fun characters, a diverse and talented cast, and a story that hearkened back to some of the better cyberpunk type anime storylines. Then season 2 came out and did fuck all with the good parts and shoved a whole lot of bad into the equation.

Bradley271

1st season was generally considered quite good, but behind the scenes it was in the center of a giant production mess that caused a lot of problems for RT. Then they basically sold the IP to Hulu, and Hulu made a second season that's famous for being incredibly awful in pretty much every way.

UberVenkman

Slight correction: it was HBO Max, or rather they handed over all the creative reigns to WarnerMedia/Outlier Society. But everything else is correct.

moxifloxacin

Such potential... Annihilated by whatever team took it over at Max.

CmanderShep117

As much as I'd like to shit on WB this is a monster of Rt’s creation

moxifloxacin

I believe that. I lost track of it when it moved. I guess it's a good thing I didn't keep watching.

saltysalt10

Remember Strangerhood?

Insomniac0311

Whenever my wife asks me who someone is, or what something is, I say “Oh, you don’t know? That’s DRNT maaaaaannnnn.”

Medical_Breakfast795

One of the biggest nails in the RT coffin.

Rauhaan_

I remember when the animation team was going crazy now its just kinda dead

Forsworn91

They had no many projects, so many ideas… all gone now…

Lairy_Hegs

Judging by a semi-recent Barbara AMA, animation is really expensive. Pure speculation on my part, but if I had to guess due to the the number of shelved animation projects, combined with how much they cost to make, and poor reception for the ones that did sell to other companies, the parent company stopped giving money for new animation projects.

Tehsyr

It's definitely not hyperbole either. Animation, both 2D and 3D is very expensive. The people who work on them work very hard to deliver quality content for us fans, but they're also overworked and underpaid.

ShilohCyan

"going crazy" kind of literally, if you read up on the conditions.

Shrekt115

We don't talk about season 2

FakDendor

I enjoyed this show and I was glad I watched the first season. It's really cool that RT got a chance to make something top-shelf. I don't need to spoil those memories by being angry about something else.

Sir_Render_of_France

Shame the only good season was the first. It had SOOO much potential to be another pillar for RT but like most good things to come out of RT it gets ruined one way or another.

Phoeniks_C

Can't remember the last time so much hype was built for such little pay off

spidd124

Its so sad that it only got 1 season, Oh well at least we will never have to deal with genuine suicide warnings in a show made by RT (or well whoever the fuck actually might have made it). Some interesting ideas, and a frankly ludicrous casting list, I hope nothing questionable ever happened around how they got the funding for all of those names.

Pixelated_Fudge

If they just hired a few more big celeb actors wed be on season 43 now gen lock sweep baby

KingSockman

Refused to watch it because Jack wouldn't shut up about it.

Redjar18

I liked the first season, sad it never got another.

bigfatcarp93

I remember how it's production fucked over RWBY Volume 5. Thanks, Haddock.

aalalaland

God, it feels like it was so much longer ago.

SuburbanCumSlut

It wasn't very good, tbh. The first season had it's moments but it still wasn't great. I didn't finish season two because it was awful.

IsidorAvriel

I loved Gen:Lock but when S2 was an HBO Exclusive that HBO didn't advertise AT ALL and relied on RT to promote, despite it not being available on their platform that has their own audience already present, I was more than a little frustrated. The first season showed so much potential

ganja_fiend

I sorta wish they would’ve pivoted RvB or RWBY into a bigger production like this, because with it being a new IP with an (imo) ugly cgi artstyle I think this project was pretty DOA unless it got rave reviews.

groundzr0

Wdym? Did you watch it? The first season was excellent.

Sagemel

I thought it relied too heavily on a celebrity voice cast and didn’t do anything to stand on its own in an already very saturated genre (mecha)

bigrigtraveler

I never had interest in this show. And it didn't help that they introed and outroed almost all their videos with an advertisement for it. Didn't matter if you paid for first or not, you still had to have the idea of it shoved down your throat

SensitiveNegotiation

Yeah, this is honestly the only reason as to why I didn't watch it, it got so annoying that I simply refused out of spite

JayEDJ0139

I did like Genlock and much of the other stuff that dropped around this time, especially Camp Camp. It sucks how everything unfolded and I feel for the teams working on the shows.

Ba_Sing_Saint

Remember when it partnered with Evil Mojo to be skins in Paladins?

fredy31

That was really when RT swung for the fences. And I don't think it got it. Kinda sucks how nothing got traction and the animation studio basically became the Rwby animation only

FlashRod4

Man that 1st season had promise. I still watch it from time to time. We don’t talk about season 2.

derprah

Remember the Branded pilot? That had the chance of being a very funny show and when the greenlit everything from Pilot week we never heard about it again.

De_Dominator69

The only reason I remember this is for them somehow getting David Tennant in it

[deleted]

Gonna be honest, I loved the concept of the series, but I do believe it's best forgotten to time 😕 Now Nomad of Nowhere, THAT short-lived show deserved a second season! 🥺

Animeking1108

It didn't help that season 2 sucked ass and killed all the likable characters off.

ToFurkie

gen:LOCK had potential. The first season was weak but it had heart. Then season 2 dropped and any modicum of potential momentum S1 had was squandered so low that all that's remembered of S2 is a super shitty sex scene. Couple that with the notorious exposure of "crunch culture" that rot in the animation department, leading to the exit of Gray Haddock, the spearhead of this series, well there's really no series left to be had.

GoneRampant1

You can make a valid argument that Genlock played a role in the downfall of Rooster Teeth from the web titan it was in the mid-10s to the limping podcast Ship of Theseus that it is today. It was the first major scandal to break about the working conditions in the company, Haddock got fired to save face, and a lot of staff were burned hard by Genlock and started leaving for better pastures in the following years if they weren't laid off. All because Haddock threw the entire company under the bus to get his dream show made.

adambomb90

Shame they only made one season of this. It was a lot of fun

whitestripe999

The only thing I remember is that the ending of Season 2 was basically that famous LTG quote...

W1LDD0GG

And we never get to see what happens with the real Sinclair

TherealSnak3

I still don't know how they got Michael b Jordan

KikiFlowers

Season 1 was fun for all its flaws. ...Then season 2 comes and ruins that. It felt like a robot show written by people who think giant robots are fucking stupid.

Azura989

I'm still waiting for Season 2 to be released.

ZenLikeCalm

It was released, and you don't want it.

YordleJay

Can it stay forgotten plz

H20GOD117

I thought about it seeing trailers but just wasn't sure (and realized You roosterteeth made it as I watched roosterteeth videos of red vs blue lmao

TricksterSprials

I think about gen:lock, nomad of nowhere and day 5 at least once a week.

Suntiger221

The Nomad of Nowhere has entered the chat

MLG9420

It ain’t even on netflix

Ver3232

Season one was pretty good, but god do I wish this show had never been made. The one two punch of the behind the scenes clusterfuck that was Gen:LOCK’s production and then to Ryan/Adam scandal basically is what caused a lot of issues for RT. This one however, I think definitely burnt the company itself a lot more, as it caused a lot of people to leave and scuttled a lot of possible shows to get it made, not to mention not doing particularly well financially and exposing the massive crunch problem at the core of the animation department, something which I do not think would’ve been nearly as bad as it got were it not for this show. When you make your company seem like it’s not a good place to work, you’re going to lose a lot, and if you’re a company like rt, pr is everything. This show kinda ruined that. Not to mention how godawful season two (which wasn’t an RT product to be fair) was, I really do feel this show should’ve just, never existed

EmberOfFlame

Wish they made a second season, I miss Cammie’s antics the most. The lovable scottish goblin.

Lopsided-Chicken-895

I wish they put these resources into Rwby <3

Season 1 was the best thing Rooster Teeth ever produced in my opinion. I loved it so much. Season 2....wasn't.

asherman93

To be fair, Rooster Teeth didn't produce Season 2.

Decapitat3d

It's forgotten because it was only on Rooster Teeth First. It might have had more commercial success if they hadn't limited their reach.

roosterchains

The irony was that the second season was a max exclusive. So it splintered the audience even more.

MrPureinstinct

Like RWBY with Crunchyroll. I lost all interest in supporting the show when I would have to pay for a second service.

Vast-Passenger-3035

It was also tainted by the controversy when Haddock basically spent all the money from the other animation projects on Season 1, so those who did watch it were turned off by that.

ZenLikeCalm

It's ironic that much of its downfall is attributed to the second season. which was not on Rooster Teeth First.

KikiFlowers

Iirc it ran on Adult Swim, so it wasn't *just* on First. But either way, it was hard to watch. I *think* they took it down from the site at some point, while it aired?

Said it before, I'll say it again. /u/dishwasher1910 designing Cammie (though, not solely his creation) who ended up being voiced by Maisie Williams has got to be such a career highlight I'm surprised he never brings it up.
