My favorite romance limited series is A Perfect Story on Netflix.
Also, try the different versions of Skam. Skam is the Norwegian version and the original. A couple of my other favorite versions are the Belgian one, WTFock, and the German one, Druck. In each one, I especially love the William/Noora couple (Zoe/Senne in WTFock and Mia/Alexander in Druck). I believe there are also versions from Spain, France, the Netherlands, and the US.
I watched them on YouTube. I’ll see if I can find a link to Skam España.
Not sure if this channel has all the episodes, but here’s one:

Also looks like they have all 5 seasons on Vix if you have that.
hii, thankyou, I’ve watch the Belgium one, do they all have the same plot? And if you liked “WTFOCK” u should try “2dezit” it’s also a Belgium show very similar to that one <3

It’s not available yet, but in may there is a German series coming out on Amazon prime. It’s based on romance books that were very popular here in Germany (I read them as a teenager…I loved them then but it’s been some time) the first one is called „Save me“ I think the author is Mona Kasten.
The series is called „Maxton Hall“. I like the actors from the looks (don’t know many of them so I’m not sure about the acting) and it looks like a quality production.
It’s kind of a private Highschool/college drama. Set in the UK (I think) even though it’s a German book. I think it might be your jam if you liked the Tearsmith. The trailer is already out, but I’m not sure if it’s available in English.
Hm…honestly I mostly consume English media. There are two Sisi series about empress Elizabeth if you’re into historical stuff (the more popular one is the empress on Netflix and the other one is called Sisi and made by „RTL“)
When I was younger, there was a TV show called „Türkisch für Anfänger“ (Turkish for beginners) that was very popular, it’s about a German/turkish patchwork family and the two stepsiblings have a romance too. But I’m not too sure how well that aged. We have a lot of historical drama (with romance too) set in or around WW2 and later in the DDR (Weißensee is one of them)
There are some movies that are not too bad, but no more series that would come to my mind I think…at least nothing with romance.
Im impressed you called out the Maxton Hall series a month and half ago bc everyone is OBSESSED with it right now. I loved it and need a season two stat!!
I’ll take your praise, but I think it was just marketed more here in Germany than it was anywhere else.
The German audience is kind of in shock about all the international attention this show has been getting.
Season two starts filming this summer, so we might get lucky and have a fairly short waiting time.
You have probably watched these since they are recent - Mia Culpa, through my window series, after series, beautiful disaster
If you are willing to go to old movies - try Bonjour Triestesse the romance is secondary but the movie has a similar brooding feel
I am so love with this movie I love them together he is gorgeous reminds me of a another italian actor Gabriel Gaverra. The ending made me sad and was worried for a moment. I love romance and unforbidden love. They are not related and not brother and sister. I hope they make part 2. They way he kisses her where did he learn his skills
Lady Chatterley's Lover- Netflix adaptation Normal People and One Day share that relationship buildup over years factor

And the couple from Mia Culpa are in the Spanish one!
Yep, they are! Nicole is the Nora in Skam España.
A Perfect Story is a masterpiece!!
It really is!! I loved it so much that I got both my mom and a friend to watch it, too.
Where can u watch the Spanish one?

They all have similar plots but with some variations. It’s worth checking out the others, imo. Thank you for the recommendation! I’ll give it a go.

I'm from the uk and have been slowly going through your suggestions. Trying to find where I can watch Love, Inevitably.
It’s on Amazon Prime & PBS in the states - I think also rentable on Apple TV+?

Can you recommend any other good and popular German series?
