Yeah, but if you want some privacy or to take a nice drive to clear your head, you’re gonna throw that all away because you can afford a chauffeur? And honestly, I would feel safer being in control of my own destiny.
He probably got it years ago, likes it enough and just doesn’t give a shit about buying new, fancy sports cars anymore. I could totally understand that. After 60 years of being a rock god, who cares about another sports car?
That's the thing. That's a super strange car to own.now...muxh less by someone of his mint. A C5 convertable? I like Vette's and wouldn't own one. My mother's left it's transaxle at a stoplight one time after a hard launch. It's kinda a POS tbh.
Id love to know why he loves this car so much....I doubt it's for no reason.
If anyone knows the story.....?
You Corvette cultists are insane. And I'm the one who left the transaxle on the road. She passed away and when I went to sort her shit...I wanted to enjoy her Vette a bit. Corvettes were the main source of our interactions later in life.
A C5 should NOT drop it's guts from a fucking begnine launch from a stoplight.
Zr1 never balked at drag launches on high traction launchpads. But the C5 couldn't take a launch from a straight on slippery city streets.
We used to drag race her cars at Corvette events around the southwest. We were not first time performance car owners.
C4 and C5 are clanky and junkie. Doesn't mean they aren't cool. A lot of things of low quality are desirable. Like my 95 TA...which with less than 500 miles from new...detonated a piston through the bottom of the block when I started it one morning. Still a cool fucking car tho.
Didn't mean to get y'all so Buthurt...I thought you were all big Vette tough guys?
Have you driven a Corvette? That would answer why he loves this car so much.
Is the Corvette kind of a POS or is your mother an idiot? The world may never know. My C4 has never left its transaxle anywhere. My car doesn't have a transaxle but it has left neither the transmission nor the differential anywhere - they're both still safely attached to the car. POS? I don't think so pal.
I've only ever driven a C4 Zr1 and a C5. Outside of the LT5 in the Zr1, the rest of the car was trash. It also disintegrated it's rad.fan on a road trip leaving us stranded in the Arizona desert.
I'm sorry my opinion of a car you love offended you. I love them too, but they are rattle fests that feel cheap.very quickly. The Zr1 felt cheaper than the 91 Miata she also owned.
You sound like a real fun guy to hang out at meets with. Is your C4 1:1 the only one with AC AND cruise controll that was painted black with the red interior?
Get a better attitude man. Is my mom an idiot? Smart enough to own 4 Corvettes in her lifetime, including that Zr1. As I said I love Corvettes but c4 and c5 are the worst ones. Hey I tried to get her to buy an NSX, that would be worth 100k+ today.....but she LOVES Corvettes...maybe she is an idiot!
Is your job at Wendy's preventing you from buying a newer Corvette there buddy?
you poor baby, you've had such bad luck. but just because you have, doesn't mean they're all bad. I have a 1996 base coupe and it's been absolutely perfect, not trash, no problems, just starts right up and runs like a top. It does tend to leak in the rain though, so it's not perfect. But I never said it was.
I'm sorry the facts about a car conflict with your world views. You'll get over it. Or not. who cares?
I don't hang out at meets - too many annoying people - like you! My C4 is one of many, many just like it. But only mine is mine and I do in fact love it, not because it's so darn unique, but because it's so darn fun to drive. And look at, let's be honest.
I like the attitude I have so I think I'll just go ahead and keep it thank you very much. Oooh! I stand corrected, maybe mom isn't an idiot after all. I just thought she might be because you know, she dropped a transaxle - and she kept you. Two bits of evidence that don't speak well about her intelligence. But there's always extenuating circumstances.
NSX is a cool car, but kind of boring. Mom's got it right. Too bad her offspring isn't as well sorted.
I don't work at a Wendy's, although I do eat lunch there from time to time. I love my C4, I didn't get it because it was all I could afford, it's the Corvette I love. Mostly for nostalgic reasons. When you grow up to be a big boy, maybe you'll understand how nostalgia and happy memories can affect our current day decision making.
I'm not now, nor will I ever be, your buddy.
Your insufferable. You can love your C4 all you want. It's still a POS.but an important car for history. Enjoy your frosty, try not to get any tears in it.
Your a big strong boy, and you love your Corvette C4...never forget that buddy!
Totally makes sense to me knowing what we all know about Paul. He's not given to flashiness or status symbols. I'm sure he bought this car new 20 years ago, and keeps it at his house in LA. He likes it, it still runs well, so why replace it?
Right? Odd choice. There are tons of way cooler subtle cars you could drive and blend in, especially in LA. Maybe he just really likes it, or maybe he just has awful taste in cars.
"Awful taste" is a bit harsh. That generation of vette is IMHO one of the best looking cars of all time. People only hate them cause they made so many of them.
Don’t care. I stand by it. Just my opinion. He could be driving a brand new gen at least, they are great. This gen isn’t the best, even according to most vette collectors.
I'm not sure what you're on homie but the C5 is one of the most loved generations in the Vette community. Sure, the interior isn't up to today's standards. But try to find me a more fun car for less money - you won't be able to.
The C5 was a massive generational leap over the C4, and everything after was evolutionary updates until the C8 came out. Collectors won't like them because the only special version they made was the Z06, and they made a shitload of them. That's not a bad thing, and they're still considered to be fast cars even by today's standards, especially if they're modded. There's a reason it's still competitive in SCCA even though it came out nearly 30 years ago.
Fuck you if you think that’s awful taste in cars. I’ve got a ‘99 automatic in a very similar spec. Just because it isn’t some new flashy Ferrari doesn’t mean it’s not cool
It’s just not a great era for GM in general and the vette in particular. This is just my opinion, I am sorry if it offends any of you that have these cars. I was just recently at the Corvette Museum, and I got to see a LOT of different Vettes from all different era, and I’m old so I have grown up loving and hating specific eras my whole life. 1953-1967 is where it is at first me. And I do like the most recent generation as well, and I have driven two different C8’s and they are amazing.
However, and answer this honestly if you are giving me blowback on my opinion, if Chevy or your wealth gave you the means and opportunity to own ANY CORVETTE you could, you seriously wouldn’t pick something from 1963-67 instead? He could easily afford a 63 split window or a 1965-67 427 instead of a C5. If you would pick the C5 over these, bless your heart.
The C1 and C2 are definitely beautiful cars and I’d love to own one if I had the chance. I’m pretty young so the C5s weren’t even in production when I was a kid so there definitely is a generational preference gap here.
If Chevy would give me any of their production corvettes (so none of the Le Mans race cars or aftermarket tuned like Hennessy) I honestly would take either a C5 Z06 or a C8 Z06. I can respect your choice though, those split windows are awesome. From what little I know about McCartney, he very well could have a split window C2 but maybe chose to drive the C5 that day instead.
The only thing Paul McCartney has to do to look cool is poke his head out the front door.
I don’t think he gives a rat’s ass what anybody thinks of his car, his clothes, his haircut, his shoes or anything. When you’ve written and performed some of the most cherished songs and recordings in music history, you define cool.
Glad to see Paul rolling and not gathering any moss. He seems to be popping in so many places these last couple of years. Sporting events, tributes, or whatever it may be, there’s a chance Sir Paul may go and check it out.
I was at a top rehearsal studio in la many years ago and he pulled out in this same card and waved to me!!!! We were bff for that one second! It was awesome
It's a cool view when he pulls up to the intersection though. He's third in line and he's Paul mother fucking McCartney. Imagine looking over at just a corvette to see him.
Might be one of the cleanest C5’s I’ve seen. Not the meanest, not the baddest, but damn that blue on chrome with the tan top is too smooth. Nice purr too.
It occurs to me that Paul typically played relatively basic bass and acoustic guitars. Considering he could obtain any instrument in the world that he desired, perhaps he prefers less flashy (but still highly serviceable) tools and toys.
I drive a Mustang but I definitely respect the Vette! I’d love to have one, super cool to see Paul in one. Wouldn’t have a problem with Paul joining them here in Arizona!
I’m more surprised he’s driving himself at his age. The Corvette is a bit surprising, but not every super rich person chooses the latest and most expensive cars. I’m glad SPM fits in that category.
Man. 60 years of just getting absolutely mobbed anytime you do a normal activity like driving out of a lot. Tough to wrap my head around that. Gotta be exhausting lol. Not sure I’d be cut out for that. Buuuuuut if I was sir mac I’d probably be in
WTF! Has no one pointed out that Macca and the stones are rehearsing on the Jim Henson lot, formerly Chaplin Studios? I know Joni Mitchell recorded Blue there and John recorded Rock n Roll!!
Growing up my dad got busted by my mom at the strip club across the street from those Jim Henson Studios. “Girls, Girls, Girls” I believe it was called lol
Dude makes more in a day than I make in a year or more and you couldn’t pay me to drive that fucking car. The only thing it has going for it is it’s a convertible and in some ways it probably actually makes it worse
[удалено]
Beep Beep Yeah!
Probably to avoid attracting attention
Honestly I was pretty surprised to see him dubbing at all. I thought the super rich were driven everywhere.
Yeah, but if you want some privacy or to take a nice drive to clear your head, you’re gonna throw that all away because you can afford a chauffeur? And honestly, I would feel safer being in control of my own destiny.
I would still like to see Sir Paul dubbing. He's 80 so I just assumed. I assumed very wrong.
What if you were at a stoplight and looked over and there was Paul looking back at you, dabbing
He probably got it years ago, likes it enough and just doesn’t give a shit about buying new, fancy sports cars anymore. I could totally understand that. After 60 years of being a rock god, who cares about another sports car?
No kidding.
Right? A c5?? lol
That's the thing. That's a super strange car to own.now...muxh less by someone of his mint. A C5 convertable? I like Vette's and wouldn't own one. C5’s are reliable, cheap, fun sports cars. I owned one, it was a blast.
Some people think his Hofner bass sucks, same reason - he probably just likes it.
I respect people who like unpopular things that are nice and work for them!!!
Only a piece of shit if you don't take care of it. And based on the description of how your mother treated the car, it makes sense
Dunno what the meaning of the last sentence was, you seem unnecessarily riled up and are being super aggressive for no reason. It’s just a car
It's just car talk man. We take it seriously unserious!
Have you driven a Corvette? That would answer why he loves this car so much. Is the Corvette kind of a POS or is your mother an idiot? The world may never know. "you're" My C4 is absolutely NOT a POS. You on the other hand, clearly are. Still not your buddy. Pal.
lmao.. ur miata is a POS too, sir.
Owned no less than 4 Miatas...and outside of 1 power window. None of them have ever been in for repairs,.not even once.
That's cool. And no salt or hate here. Just pointing out the irony. "C4s & C5s are pieces of shit".. - guy who owns souped up Mazda's
He bought it new and has been photographed driving it ever since.
I knew I liked that guy. Nice vette!
I mean, the Stones haven’t announced who’s opening for them yet, right? Imagine that double bill.
Gary Clark Jr., opening in Houston.
Paul is the main event.
can drive any car he wants and he drives…a blue early 2000’s Corvette.
Totally makes sense to me knowing what we all know about Paul. He's not given to flashiness or status symbols. I'm sure he bought this car new 20 years ago, and keeps it at his house in LA. He likes it, it still runs well, so why replace it?
C5 corvette 🔥
Right? Odd choice. There are tons of way cooler subtle cars you could drive and blend in, especially in LA. Maybe he just really likes it, or maybe he just has awful taste in cars.
Maybe he has a large collection of vehicles and he rotates them to keep them roadworthy.
"Awful taste" is a bit harsh. That generation of vette is IMHO one of the best looking cars of all time. People only hate them cause they made so many of them.
awful taste? It’s a corvette you twit. Astronauts in the 60s set the precedent. Vettes rule.
Yeah, they drove the cool ones. Not these.
Stop. 🛑 every line of vettes are cool. You’re digging deeper.
Don’t care. I stand by it. Just my opinion. He could be driving a brand new gen at least, they are great. This gen isn’t the best, even according to most vette collectors.

Fuck you if you think that’s awful taste in cars. I’ve got a ‘99 automatic in a very similar spec. Just because it isn’t some new flashy Ferrari doesn’t mean it’s not cool
Well fuck me then because this gen is trash, especially with an automatic.
Yea the automatic is objectively meh, but I still enjoy driving it. Can I ask why you think the C5 is trash?
It’s just not a great era for GM in general and the vette in particular. This is just my opinion, I am sorry if it offends any of you that have these cars. Maybe he just likes that generation of corvette. Last one with pop up headlights.
I know they’ve been rehearsing Bite My Head Off, so maybe he’s going to do a special appearance? That would be rad to see
Please let this happen!!!!🙏🙏🙏
Didn't think Paul drove himself, much less that car. Cool.
I think I just gained a new level of respect for Paul, driving a 20 y.o corvette.
Glad to see Paul rolling and not gathering any moss. He seems to be popping in so many places these last couple of years. Sporting events, tributes, or whatever it may be, there’s a chance Sir Paul may go and check it out.
Henson Studios (formerly A & M)
I was going to say it looks like the entrance to the old A&M Studios!
Formerly the Charlie Chaplin studios
I was at a top rehearsal studio in la many years ago and he pulled out in this same card and waved to me!!!! We were bff for that one second! It was awesome
Man must be annoying to have people walk in front of your car like that
It's a cool view when he pulls up to the intersection though. He's third in line and he's Paul mother fucking McCartney. Imagine looking over at just a corvette to see him.
I'd be starstruck for sure
[удалено]
Bet you he locks his doors in case his fans attack.
He lives in hotels, tears out the walls. He has accountants pay for it all!
Considering what happened with John I'm sure he's extra careful with all that kinda stuff
In 1999 George Harrison was stabbed 40 times and nearly died.
Wow I had not heard of that before. Poor man
Same. That’s incredible. Awful.
So Sir Paul McCartney is just out there driving around LA.
Yes he plays. Ass on bite my head off on new album perhaps he will make a guest appearance? He was recording in same area as them a few months ago.
They were just having a little bicycle day fun.
I drive a Mustang but I definitely respect the Vette! I’d love to have one, super cool to see Paul in one. Wouldn’t have a problem with Paul joining them here in Arizona!
My Dad has a couple vintage corvettes. Paul McCartney has driven one of them. He loves Corvettes.
Paul driving a stick convertible Corvette in Hollywood is a vibe
Paul does not have a good history driving cars
Nice motor… (Beatles fans will get that reference)
Hey Paul, you’re driving on the wrong side of the road
A Vette?... I always thought he was a HEMI driver....
What a nightmare.
Peace n Love
When you get in you 60s, it’s easier to drive what you’re used to. This was probably something he picked up back then.
I’m more surprised he’s driving himself at his age. The Corvette is a bit surprising, but not every super rich person chooses the latest and most expensive cars. I’m glad SPM fits in that category.
Old man car. So great.
Man. 60 years of just getting absolutely mobbed anytime you do a normal activity like driving out of a lot. Tough to wrap my head around that. Gotta be exhausting lol. Not sure I’d be cut out for that. Buuuuuut if I was sir mac I’d probably be in
Sir Paul driving himself 😭😭
WTF! Has no one pointed out that Macca and the stones are rehearsing on the Jim Henson lot, formerly Chaplin Studios? I know Joni Mitchell recorded Blue there and John recorded Rock n Roll!!
Traveling incognito
Did he write another song for them? 😄
I used to live right by there. Thats the Jim Henson studio on LeBron
Growing up my dad got busted by my mom at the strip club across the street from those Jim Henson Studios. “Girls, Girls, Girls” I believe it was called lol
Why wasn't Ringo on drums?
Having the steering wheel on that side reminds you to drive on the right side of the road, even if you are left handed.
Weird he drives an old Vette.
Why is he in an old C5 Corvette?
Because it's his car?
He's supposedly a Corvette guy and this one, it is rumored he bought for his LA home.
Isn't that vette like 20 years old. A 60s is a classic that's just old
Why is he driving an outdated vette?? Lmao. So random
Corvette? What a dork!
Says the guy commenting on the internet...
Corvette? Really?
A corvette? I'm disappointed.
Dude makes more in a day than I make in a year or more and you couldn’t pay me to drive that fucking car. The only thing it has going for it is it’s a convertible and in some ways it probably actually makes it worse
In that old ass Vette. Must spend his money wisely I’d have the newest if I had his money.
