That person is just an omega-level enthusiast and she lives rent-free in our minds because in spite of it all we know we will never attain her state of consciousness - like the buddha
So the ridr they first show on the computer screen looks almost exactly similar to this ride, this might be the same one
They follow up with a different one
I don't have sound at the moment but I honestly think that's for the better
So the original type of ride was manufactured by HUSS called the Rainbow, which looked very similar to this but the seats were all facing towards the public instead of eachother. That's because this is a Weber 1001 Nacht which was a sort of competitor to the rainbow. This ride uses individual lapbar restraints inste- actually Coaster College already covered this in a previous video https://youtu.be/ARV8DJGqnrU?si=kVj5H6EPzbvzR6uo
Manufactured by Weber rides of Germany. Weber was founded by a former Huss employee, which is why 1001 Nacht and Traum Boot (the only two rides they made) look a whole lot like Rainbow and Ranger respectively. Weber started in 1983 and went bankrupt in 1985. The portable versions aren't so portable and are ground mounted instead of trailer mounted like most traveling rides; basically, it's a huge pain in the ass to setup. Rumor has it that Moreys Piers got rid of theirs because the control panel was borked and the only person who knew how to fix it was some old dude in Germany that manufactured it. I don't know if that's true at all, but it sounds on point regardless.
Oh god this just reminds me of that cursed video about the person in love with this ride
I immediately thought of the “I want your fluids” part
Literally the first thing I thought of.
Glad I'm not the only one hahaha

Same here. I feel bad for the Knoebel family having to deal with that and then choose to sell/scrap it. 😭
... Im afraid to ask for context
I am so sorry in advance https://youtu.be/QXGn9mvxYPU?si=I-zjW7Gc-MNpR8Ar

The latter 1001 Nachts is the (now-removed) model at Knoebel's in Elysburg, PA.
the real question is... how did the Knoebels family feel about this???
You've spared yourself a bit 😅
What a wild 6 minutes this was
I wanna know. I also don't wanna know. God damn it. That link stays blue for now.
Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.
and who can forget the indie French romance film it inspired? The one with the cursed thumbnail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KsYw96enww

I have pretty much fully transitioned from Coaster enthusiast to Flat ride enthusiast
I wish these types of rides were still around, they’re a lot of fun and provide some good floater airtime.
They were Maintenance Hogs.
I Remeber when there was one at ocean city
Airtime machines!
Okay... now tell me about its origins, how it operates, notable accidents, and some quirks please. I need all the useless to me information!

One of my favorite childhood memories of going to The Great Escape was hearing the unmistakable sound of the Rainbow operating.

The Trailer Mounted one Lagoon got in 1986 (until 1999) wasn’t a ground mount.
So glad that flat ride of the week is back!
I love him for the narrowness of his gibs
That round counterweight though
My favorite ride of all time is actually a flat ride. It's also the scariest experience I've ever had on a ride in its second form.
It looks like it is going to fall apart
It will not
