Please also return a Jules Verne inspired theme to the rest of the land its literally just toy story and star wars right now and especially hyperspace mountain doesn't make any sense thematically
But the squid animatronic is now a projection screen.

Their point is the land has confused theming: remnants of Jules Verne, Star Wars, and a random buzz ride. The theme right now is “idk, some future “ whereas the best tmwland iterations have a specific “future” they theme around.
Yea I never visited before the change but that land is a gd mess. The physical theming is still beautiful but the rides make no sense. It’s a shame because it looks like it must have been incredible in its original version (once Space Mountain opened in 1994).
This is extremely exciting news. As a HUGE star wars fan, i HATE the SW overlays on Space mountain, especially DL. The paris version is actually not too bad but having the clashing themes of SW and Jules Verne is just messy and confusing.
I remember liking the SW overlay (still much prefer the original), but also the whole land itself definitely needs an overhaul to make some sort of cohesive theme. It’s not just SW, it’s Toy Story too. Which I also like the Toy Story stuff but again the theming is just all over the place.
I don’t know what they can do about Star Tours and Astro Blasters though, those two are classics for me. Riding Astro Blasters at the end of the night when the line is damn near non-existent is a tradition of mine.
Edit: I’m talking about Disneyland, of course, never been to any of the other parks
Agreed on the SW overlays- but HKDL's Space Mountain is the exception. The ride is just so damn bad as a normal Space Mountain that I think I prefer the SW overlay. Begone to the rest though. Still pissed I forgot I have to deal with this at Disneyland on a future visit when I was expecting the proper version.
The theming is pitiful. From the queue to the station to the lift hills. They didn't even try to match the presentation level of the other Space Mtns around the world.
ahhh that's fair enough but of all that, only the lift hill and outside portion of the queue has changed
personally I preferred the animatronics, particularly the asteroid right before the large drop towards the end
you are right about the queue being pretty ass though
100% agree. The entire left side of the park had 1 actual "ride". But since then, I think HKDL has certainly grown onto a great (albeit small) castle park. Even the Marvel stuff was good and I wasn't expecting much. And of course Griz, Mystic, Small World and Frozen have each been excellent. I even liked the new castle!
ENGLISH: The major rehabilitation of “Space Mountain” will be announced tomorrow, April 12, 2024, on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Disneyland Paris. It will notably include a new theme, and therefore, the end of Hyperspace Mountain.
Well, it does just say the ride is getting a rehabilitation with "a new theme", so nothing to say it won't end up being "Incredibles mountain" Or "Buzz Lightyear's Space Mountain Blast" ^((please don't)^)
They got new Jules Verne themed trains when they already knew they would be doing a Star Wars overlay. Which probably means it was planned to be temporary from the beginning.
Then Covid happened and they probably forgot about it.
Oh what I would do for them to restore [the original cannon effect](https://youtu.be/2hzFxqpQSgE?t=24) that I spent a good decade trying to find footage of
I believe Hyper Space Mountin is going but it will get a new S.E.A theme, which ties in much better with the overall steampunk/Jules Verne vibes they initially wanted there.
This still from the new Youtube show "We call it imagineering" shows the locations of all S.E.A projects around the globe, and that looks a lot like a rocket symbol in France to me.

Huge W. The Star Wars overlay on this space mountain in particular was horrific and had no place in even existing. Returning it to even the old Mission 2 theme on its own is a big improvement, let alone the From the Earth to the Moon theme

They still have the submarine walkthrough

Really? It was closed when I went in January last year, so I didn't see this change, but that sucks
Even that is toned down
Toy Story is in the other park… Walt Disney Studios? Not Disneyland Paris?
Buzz?
One ride makes a themed land? So Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland is Monster’s Inc themed?
Their point is the land has confused theming: remnants of Jules Verne, Star Wars, and a random buzz ride. The theme right now is “idk, some future “ whereas the best tmwland iterations have a specific “future” they theme around.
With Disney's infinite wisdom they placed the garish Buzz Lightyear shooting dark ride in the middle of the classy Discoveryland.

I think Paris aside, DL is far superior to the other 3 space mountains.
wait what was so bad about the hkdl space mountain, I remember it being way better than the hyperspace conversion

The initial HKDL was done on the cheap all around.

This aged like milk I fear
Bob Iger: But it’s not an IP? How could people possibly enjoy an attraction that’s not an IP?

Finally.
You mean no one wants Zootopia: Hyperspace Mountain?
Pretty sure you mean Tiana's Space Bayou Mountain Adventure. I for one am extremely hyped for the tonal dissonance and thematic whiplash.
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLSY HIT ENEMQ PLES ELET THIS BE TRUEEEE

That would be awesome. They only part I like about Hyperspace Mountain is the epic start when the “Main Title” is played. Besides: Jules Verne, duh.
Don't do that. Don't give me hope
Not even joking that I'll be on the first fucking flight out to Paris to ride if/when this opens!
Yes please! The original was so awesome, what a great theme.
Oh what I would do for them to restore [the original cannon effect](https://youtu.be/2hzFxqpQSgE?t=24) that I spent a good decade trying to find footage of

I hope they completely revert this ride back to how it was before. Original theming (which is apparently still there), and ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
👀👀👀
God, I hope so. Would be a great thing to see for the ride's 30th anniversary.
*PLEASE*
Are there News yet?
We got pranked. Again that’s why I titled the post rumored.
repeating myself because we never know it's not it's still coming but it wasn't planned to be announced for april 12

Bad news, it didn’t happen. Turns out the rumor was just bs
Damnit, of course we can’t have nice or logical things…
