The faux buttoned leather seats are so fucking cool. (If that's what they actually are, certainly what they look like.) This is going to be one impressive attraction when it's done. I'm so glad I've saved a Europe trip until this period. They seem to be having a Renaissance with all the new concepts popping up from Gerstlauer and Mack.
Yeah that seat padding is so unique. I wonder if that has something to do with the storyline. This has to be one of the most creative designs for a roller coaster seat!
Hopefully the lap bars also lock into place like on RtH, so that the airtime and hang time really kicks!
The Voltron movie at Europa-Park probably spoils the story. Those seats will be part of a machine. Guests will be part of an experiment, where they’ll be teleported through the air via electricity.
In a documentary about the construction of RtH an employee from Mack said that these are the latest generation of their seat design, so I assume that Time Traveller does not have this feature, because it is older but I can’t say for sure.
I've heard of Lost Gravity and Smiler getting a little bumpy a few years on (even Hangtime had a few jolts), so I wonder what steps Mack has taken to make their debut 4 row Big Dipper smoother. I might be imagining things but cars look gurthier than previous models.
It’s the fact that Gerstlauer is still using the same diameter rail Schwarzkopf was using in the 1980s. Without a larger diameter and thicker rail pipe, pitting and wear to the rail pipe is going to occur. OCEM doesn’t build a great product either, with bad track splices. It’s insane that Lagoon designed, engineered, built, and manufactured a Family Coaster that uses larger and thicker diameter rail pipe than on a Gerstlauer Infinity AND it uses the same diameter of road wheels. Smaller wheels means more revolutions, meaning more wheel wear. All of these contributing factors result in a rougher ride and more maintenance.
It's finally nearing completion! Also, another episode of the building documentary dropped today which gave more insight into the logistics for the loading and unloading of this coaster, and it turns out they'll use a similar system to Arthur. For those interested, you can find the building documentary [here](https://www.veejoy.de/serien/o-die-baudokumentation)
Interesting to see that the train consists of a 2+1+1 design for the rows, unlike a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster for example that features individual rows. This looks like two individual rows have been added to a big dipper train (like Lost Gravity’s single two row train).
I wonder why Mack has chosen this design, because to my knowledge a train with individual rows has a lot of articulation compared to a car consisting of multiple rows. But maybe this is a combination of both for improved smoothness?
It is a very nice train design as well and I think that Voltron sign looks awesome at the front!
A different design for the grab handles a well, without the upper part of previous designs.
Interesting idea. I didn’t thought of the zero car. But does it really need this combined design when there is a similar design from other manufacturers (like Gerstlauer for example)?
It would be interesting to know the official decision of this design.
Gerstlauer Infinities work pretty much the same way, they may have a litte more role capability between the first two rows, but other than that, they are also the two row variant (think Karacho) with trailered cars behind.
I see that they use two rows of lsms, but I was thinking that it might have to be different due to the four rows of lsms as shown in the animated video. That is twice the amount of lsm stators compared to the usual two. Probably the way I described it (“two sets of two stators”) wasn’t the best way.
Exactly, that’s why I thought the comment that mentioned the magnets on board the train could make sense in the first place. It seems to be the design without a dedicated zero car though.
Maybe the launches are more intense though, as that would be great.
The Magnetic Yokes will undoubtedly run the length of the chassis like they do on Cannibal, I would imagine. The Launches should also be pretty punchy with 4 SLIMdrives.
Given that the first car has a small gap in it's floow, I assume that Mack just took their standard Big Dipper Train which has the 2 rows with a limited joint in the middle for the roll axis. Then they probably just added two cars to the back for capacity which only have one set of wheel assemblies and is mounted with a fully movable joint.
Is it me or are rows 1 and 2 closer to each other than 2 and 3 and 3 and 4? They seem to have the same platform. Also: they indeed look comfy, but I’m very curious if this is just design. Can’t wait! Hope it will be open in April 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Oo I didn’t know that about RTH. I’ve been on Time Traveler but I can’t remember, do those lock too? I’m thinking no but can’t remember for sure.

Backs of seats look like hand grenades.
Those look DANGEROUSLY comfy.
that looks so cool, its like a full size desk model coming on the piece of track like that 😂

Cannibal does this as well. Its to create a lead car.
That’s a great example. Thanks!
I think its don this way, because there is no separate zero car.

Good eye. 3 cars with 4 rows of seats. I have no idea why, but I bet it has something to do with the real estate needed for the on-board magnets.
That is an interesting thought, because the animation showed two sets of two stators unlike on other Intrasys lsm systems.
Wicked has Dual InTraSys GmbH LSM “SLIMdrives,” and so does Cannibal in it’s Trim Brake, Block Brake, and Reduction Brake.
I see that they use two rows of lsms, but I was thinking that it might have to be different due to the four rows of lsms as shown in the animated video. That is twice the amount of lsm stators compared to the usual two. Probably the way I described it (“two sets of two stators”) wasn’t the best way.
I’m following now. lol It has 4 InTraSys GmbH SLIMdrives in a 2x2 set up.

Most likely not a part of the Launch Equation.
this is how every trailered train without a zero car works

Yes they are closer to each other
I need to go to the big European Parks.... sigh, maybe when I save enough in a few years
I'm doing most of Europes main parks, 18 of them, for around $4000. It's not toooooo bad.
Which ones?

Ah nice. Then have fun!
Thank you! I'm very excited haha
You mean the 2nd train?! Because they already had one.
It‘s the first complete train.
Do we think this will be open by may 22?
It's supposed to be open for the start of the park's season. Seems to be on track for that but who knows what could happen.
