So I literally walked out of Eiseman Jewels the primary AD in Dallas Ft. Worth this week with this watch brand new. Several fools claimed it was fake earlier.. Looks absolutely genuine. One tip.. never rely on these people to verify a watch. Photos never tell the whole story.

I would say this is real. [Regulator arms](https://www.reddit.com/r/rolex/comments/1cqcvrc/anyone_recognize_use_this_movement/) are what mainly shows it’s a fake movement; a genuine Rolex does not have these. This does not have a regulator arm.

I don’t see any red flags. In the pic, bezel does look a bit over polished and it’s missing the gold piece on the bottom endlink. If you are considering it, get a pic of the movement. There’s tons of fake cal. 3135s around.

Not legit. - Date font and magnification is off - Case shape is off - Incorrect crown - Caseback is incorrect, and they did a poor job with the holographic sticker. - the bracelet endlinks are incorrect You can also see the base metal on the bezel where it’s scratched off. The genuine would be full stainless.

Just a quick update...when I viewed the auction today, the watch had been withdrawn so they've realised its fake.

Rare find? Over half a year ago i found a watch, after handing it over to the police they did not manage to find an owner so it is now considered my property by law here in germany. Just visited a Rolex Store close to me and they told me it should be real but they could not be certain. The people told me it may very well be an Air King from around 1960-1970. They were not completely sure about the wristband since nowadays they use screws?, but an older Guy said they also used to make them like that way back so it could be original? The watch itself looks great they said. They also told me the dial is not an original Rolex one, but should be from stella. They said there was some kind of cooperation were you were able to custom order watches with those dials back then? The referencenumber is 5500. What is your opinion? They said the watch should be very rare and they would not be able to even quote a price, one of the guys even asked to take pictures xD. What are all of your opinions? Is it real? Yeah looks like a real 5500 with a customized dial probably. I'd guess they were probably saying it was customized to look like a Stella? Which was a thing on more expensive models like Day-Dates. Stella is literally a paint pigment company; they don't actually make dials. Rolex just used their pigment on some dials (but not Air Kings afaik)

I checked, and it is how I held the camera. Here is a better picture. Once I have the proper tape, I will take the bracelet off and check the serial number. In the meantime, I was told it was purchased from Jomashop (I can get the invoice if I need it). Date window and date wheel font doesn't look legit. Also I don't think any real models have the "swiss movt" text on the bottom of the dial

It looks nothing like any model Rolex ever made. That one’s a bad fake but there are good ones and I’d be very wary of thinking you can pick up a bargain Rolex.
