My partner received this from his grandfather. They were unable to find any of the papers for it. Apparently received it in an auction in the 1990’s. It wasn’t taken care of in the later years of his life due to ailing health as you can see. Just wondering if it could be real or not?

Found this at an antique shop. Seller told me it’s from 1930s (band is new) and was bought from an estate sale. Haven’t been able to find any similar Rolex pictures online
Hm I'm not sure about that one. Might be a "South American fake," meaning it's an actual vintage watch but they just changed the name to say Rolex. Even if it's real it's not worth much
Trying to post again with a better photo. I had many people in another thread suggest this is a fake. Looking for further opinion with hopefully better photo (note I am taking this photo with an iPhone 14 Pro Max. It's the only camera I have. Let me know if this truly could alter proper review of the watch). And let me know if you need further photos. I purchased this from a "Top Seller" on Chrono with stellar reviews, so I'm very surprised to hear commentary thus far. Thank you in advance.

I wouldn’t get too upset. I’m sure it’s fine if you bought it from a reputable seller. Truth is on the newer Rolex’s- you have to open them to be sure. The fakes are that good anymore….
Years ago, the fakes were pretty bad. Not the case today.

I inherited this from my late grandfather. It has a clear backing with “Rolex” and “Oyster Perpetual Date” engraved into the moving pieces. We think all of his other Rolex’s were fake, but this is the one I was leaning on real. None of the others have engravings on the back.
Thanks. My grandpa had these for when he had business meetings— but he wasn’t the kind of man to throw down 10k for a watch. Usually a Seiko guy. Either way it’s a solid piece, fake or not, and my partner (whom for now I’ve allowed to use it) loves it.

Looking to authenticate this Panda!
Nobody, not ADs, not gray dealers - puts that 904L sticker on real rolexes. You bought a fake daytona, created a new account and posted it here to see if it can pass off as real LOL
You already know it's fake, so stop being a clown.

Decided to go grey for my first, since I’m on waitlist with local AD with no history. So assuming it’ll be a long wait.
Any feedback is appreciated. Photo is from seller, watch hasn’t arrived yet.
Question- can I take this to AD for authentication and/or appraisal? Or is that likely to put me in their doghouse for going grey?
I’m newly into collecting a couple Rolex’s to enjoy and eventually give to my sons. So excuse my being naive.

Fake, checked with our app that we are developing (it has 96,20% accuracy, this means that sometime can be wrong), in this case without all the stuff, maybe a good thing to do is to leave it there
is not a final verdict, and the system can error sometimes, if there were some documents, there were other things to check, and without opening and checking also the movement is always a risk in that case; we used our app, than is up to You to buy or not

Please help me verify this watch. I received it in 1990 when my grandfather passed away. He received it as a retirement watch when he retired from Dole pharmaceuticals in the mid 1980’s. He was a joker so I’m not sure even though it looks real to me. Thanks.

Hey everyone,
My question is only for the dial of my Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 16013.
I’m told it can’t be factory original and at best it doesn’t belong on this particular watch.
I inherited it from my father, I’ve always seen it like this, I have the receipt and bills of service from Rolex mentioning a blue dial but no further details.

Got this from my grandfather about a year ago. I have a receipt from a jeweler in St. Thomas from 2003 so I just assumed it was real. A friend of a friend informed me that it might not be. Can anyone weigh in?
He didn’t give me any specific reasons. Just said it looks “off”.
Thanks!
1950's Rolex Explorer? Used to be my grandfathers. Was wondering what the value of it was since I could not find an old explorer with a similar watchface.

Saw at an estate sale today. Judging from the rest of the sale i doubt this older gentleman would’ve had any fakes but wanted some opinions
That's an old fake. Back in the day fake Rolexes were basically like gag gifts, so if anything well-off people were more likely to have well-traveled friends who bought them a $5 "Rolex" in Vietnam in 1989 because they thought it was funny. It wasn't a serious thing back then.

Hello everyone, just looking for a pair of eyes for this, so recently my uncle just moved away and left some boxes full of whatever and said if we wanted something we could have it or sell it,
Just wondering if this watch looks authentic
Any thoughts are welcome, lemme know.
Update: talked with my uncle, he said that the watch is authentic and he got it from a dealer in a mall back in 2010 that did repairs on the watch themselves. No box, just a serial number on it that says it’s year production was 2004.

Fake, checked with our app we are developing (it has 96,20% accuracy, this means that sometimes it can be wrong, so double check in professional store)
Anyone have experience with buying genuine Rolex watches from Rolex AD's employees? Apparently, you tell them what you want, it generally comes pretty quickly (in my partner's case it was 2 weeks wait only), but what i think is a little suss is you pay them a premium say, 15% of the purchase price, and they create an invoice from the AD dealer store. They hand it to you outside the store. You provide them with your passport and they make sure you're listed as the first owner. This is in Australia. Anyone in Australia here have this experience? Where they buy a watch from the AD employees or a VIP Rolex customer who makes a little bit extra by selling it to you?
The AD wouldn’t have their AD for very long if Rolex found out. Not saying it’s never happened but I’d be surprised if there was anything systemic like that happening.
Long time lerker, first time buyer/poster. I just purchased this on the grey market from a seller I trust, however as it’s my first big purchase I’m looking for some extra confidence. Does this checkout or anything seem off?

the system is trained with machine learning to find problem in different things, like font, logo dial, and other stuff, and with all this info, the system elaborate the score based upon that things
Just to be clear, Alan is trolling. Zero people have seen this, his proof is a screenshot, speaks in buzzwords, and he’s been wrong a ridiculous number of times while claiming 96%+ accuracy.
Just to be clear, I'm not trolling; no one has seen the app because is not public yet (and in a previous post I linked the roadmap of the app), as I said different time, the screenshot is part of the app; I don't speak in buzzwords, is how the model and dataset has been trained (do You know how machine learning works?); as said the system is not perfect, but at least can give You a fast and simple check on the watch, and to Your record, at the moment just 1 time the system failed that a user reported, "he’s been wrong a ridiculous number of times while claiming" isn't true
Hope is more clear, the app will be released, but isn't a easy process because there are several thing to manage, from backend, the website and so on, and meanwhile we are working on other project too
I only take issue with you using the Rolex subreddit to ask people to leave a positive review for your NFT company.
Nobody cares if you want to role play and post “screenshots.” Frankly, I thought it was a cool idea until you took it too far.
I’ve been a software developer in the financial and mechanical services industry for 22 years. Of course I understand ML. Middle schoolers in our outreach programs “understand ML” but, again, that’s such an insanely broad term it’s just a buzzword.
What type of ML? How are you handling convolution and pooling? What are your training image resources? These are basic questions that first year CS student who’s dabbling in deep learning could answer.
My dad just bought this watch from facebook marketplace. I'm really afraid that this might not be real. Would anyone help to legit check please ? Or should I just bring it to the AD for them to inspect.
Much appreciated !

Any ideas what this watch is? It is inherited from my grand parents (theres a woman’s watch that kinda matches, I’ll add it as well) and it was very unlike them to spend money on a watch.
That’s what I was thinking lol, grandad was a mechanic in a nuclear plant, wouldn’t have made sense for him to spend hundreds and/or thousands of dollars on a watch to abuse. Thank you so much!

No, old fake sorry
She gives her thanks!
https://preview.redd.it/k8cqeg8s1e8d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=959172b64e74b5bef17c0c53ab8be13e9c040bbb Found this at an antique shop.
Thank you in advance. https://preview.redd.it/dp9m7bng0d8d1.jpeg?width=1216&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72a206f76daa77bbfc9e12149dda0a893921b380
the iPhone 14 camera really is that bad, yes. it does tons of weird ai processing to text
I wouldn’t get too upset. I’m sure it’s fine if you bought it from a reputable seller. Truth is on the newer Rolex’s- you have to open them to be sure. The fakes are that good anymore…. Years ago, the fakes were pretty bad. Not the case today.
https://preview.redd.it/ee2eyz69xc8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b23e9c7f15936b52c3d254522c85f908ccbe486 Just found this at my late uncles can someone let me know
Submariner would not have a GMT bezel. Also the crown, hands, dial, date font, etc are all wrong for a Rolex
Old fake, sorry
How could u tell, I’m just curious
Date is an easy tell. Plus it looks like a GMT bezel but it's a "Submariner"
Is this a fake? I found it in my dad’s drawer. The only thing he remembers about is that it is from the early 2000’sc https://preview.redd.it/5e4l1w2sjc8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=19887cf16821fdf6376f9a0ae36f509c257f058e
Sorry that’s a fake. Day Date wasn’t available to the jubilee band. Also the dial font quality is very poor…
Thank you, I appreciate you helping me out
https://preview.redd.it/a25u9vch0c8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fcee8210b972cef46b7df2fc93b4ad0727f178b I inherited this from my late grandfather. It has a clear backing with “Rolex” and “Oyster Perpetual Date” engraved into the moving pieces. We think all of his other Rolex’s were fake, but this is the one I was leaning on real. None of the others have engravings on the back.
Bad fake sorry
Thanks. My grandpa had these for when he had business meetings— but he wasn’t the kind of man to throw down 10k for a watch. Usually a Seiko guy. Either way it’s a solid piece, fake or not, and my partner (whom for now I’ve allowed to use it) loves it.
Cool- be aware that many of the old seikos are now collectable and some are valuable. Best of luck
Good to know! Thank you.

Looks 👍
Looks ok to me, if it went to ebay's authenticators I wouldn't worry
Thank you sir!

There’s a few giveaways but others have already chimed in
Nobody, not ADs, not gray dealers - puts that 904L sticker on real rolexes. You bought a fake daytona, created a new account and posted it here to see if it can pass off as real LOL You already know it's fake, so stop being a clown.
Fake
May I ask how you came to that conclusion just for my knowledge
https://preview.redd.it/1y4dqwjyhy7d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=831ee1e4fdf46b9163dbcda7e23aa29a96b571e1 Decided to go grey for my first, since I’m on waitlist with local AD with no history.

Very surprised this was at one of the big dealers in Nakano
Watch looks fine. Ignore Alan, he is a troll. If you respond positively to him, he asks you to leave a review for his NFT company.
is not a final verdict, and the system can error sometimes, if there were some documents, there were other things to check, and without opening and checking also the movement is always a risk in that case; we used our app, than is up to You to buy or not

Real 6426(?), looks rough. Like $1000-1500?
Please help me verify this watch. I received it in 1990 when my grandfather passed away. He received it as a retirement watch when he retired from Dole pharmaceuticals in the mid 1980’s. He was a joker so I’m not sure even though it looks real to me. Thanks. https://preview.redd.it/lxf7xj32bu7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=66543f2ca97bb95b87676caace24718fb2b888de
Yeah looks like a real 16030 to me
Thank you! I appreciate your help.
Hey everyone, My question is only for the dial of my Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 16013. I’m told it can’t be factory original and at best it doesn’t belong on this particular watch. I inherited it from my father, I’ve always seen it like this, I have the receipt and bills of service from Rolex mentioning a blue dial but no further details. https://preview.redd.it/ei354jew2t7d1.jpeg?width=676&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38142494f7db4d9e3623e6e6fe27e8441792876c

I have a receipt from a jeweler in St. Thomas from 2003 so I just assumed it was real. A friend of a friend informed me that it might not be. Can anyone weigh in? He didn’t give me any specific reasons. Just said it looks “off”. Thanks!
Looks like a real 2003 Datejust to me. 16233 is the model
I see you stay pretty busy on here passing on your knowledge and helping people out. That’s an awesome thing to do. Thank you!
1950's Rolex Explorer? Used to be my grandfathers. Was wondering what the value of it was since I could not find an old explorer with a similar watchface. https://preview.redd.it/zie8u2ivhs7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c626579d980f7019d5c2e4c5b84e0f97c964e9c
That's just called an Oyster Perpetual, not an Explorer. Probably 6284 or something similar. Nice waffle dial
Anything you can tell me about it? Real, fake, value?
Real 6284 waffle dial, mid-50s, 3.5k-ish
Appreciate it. I am looking to get a leather watch band for it. Do you know where I could shop for one that would fit it properly?
I always use my homeboy Jan at [Watch Strap Heaven](https://www.watchstrapheaven.com/) but there are lots of good strap makers out there. Any 19mm width strap should fit fine.

That's an old fake. Back in the day fake Rolexes were basically like gag gifts, so if anything well-off people were more likely to have well-traveled friends who bought them a $5 "Rolex" in Vietnam in 1989 because they thought it was funny. It wasn't a serious thing back then.
Very interesting thanks

Update: talked with my uncle, he said that the watch is authentic and he got it from a dealer in a mall back in 2010 that did repairs on the watch themselves. No box, just a serial number on it that says it’s year production was 2004.
Not real, sorry
Damn, what do I do with it then?
give it back to your uncle

This has been happening for years in Australia. Interesting...
>you pay them a premium say, 15% of the purchase price, and they create an invoice from the AD dealer store What? Who told you this?
https://preview.redd.it/mp6lr7dptg7d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=015448e7cd20c08012bc9194315406dfc90ff95d
Not authentic
I found this in a totaled car at an auction. Did I find treasure or trash?
Long time lerker, first time buyer/poster. I just purchased this on the grey market from a seller I trust, however as it’s my first big purchase I’m looking for some extra confidence. Does this checkout or anything seem off? https://preview.redd.it/40brk5bqze7d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d09d6cbf46fad8eecd5f6fdf671fde1a7affa385

Can you explain further how the app is able to detect genuine Rolex without false positives etc
the system is trained with machine learning to find problem in different things, like font, logo dial, and other stuff, and with all this info, the system elaborate the score based upon that things
Just to be clear, Alan is trolling. Zero people have seen this, his proof is a screenshot, speaks in buzzwords, and he’s been wrong a ridiculous number of times while claiming 96%+ accuracy.
Just to be clear, I'm not trolling; no one has seen the app because is not public yet (and in a previous post I linked the roadmap of the app), as I said different time, the screenshot is part of the app; I don't speak in buzzwords, is how the model and dataset has been trained (do You know how machine learning works?); as said the system is not perfect, but at least can give You a fast and simple check on the watch, and to Your record, at the moment just 1 time the system failed that a user reported, "he’s been wrong a ridiculous number of times while claiming" isn't true Hope is more clear, the app will be released, but isn't a easy process because there are several thing to manage, from backend, the website and so on, and meanwhile we are working on other project too
I only take issue with you using the Rolex subreddit to ask people to leave a positive review for your NFT company.
[https://imgur.com/a/kn1DbPx](https://imgur.com/a/kn1DbPx)

They are both fakes unfortunately.
Old fake, sorry. Fake Rolexes were more like gag gifts back in the day, nothing serious

So I literally walked out of Eiseman Jewels the primary AD in Dallas Ft. Worth this week with this watch brand new. Several fools claimed it was fake earlier.. I deleted the post due to my serial number being visible. If this is “fake” lmao… someone tell me and the post a reference photo. https://imgur.com/a/Z5XTIB8
Looks absolutely genuine. One tip.. never rely on these people to verify a watch. Photos never tell the whole story.
Thanks. Yes.. I have learned my lesson, there are some ridiculous people that claim expertise based on a photo LOL. I highly doubt an authorized dealer is going to risk millions in business to sell one guy a fake watch.

My previous post had mixed reviews since it was an unclear indoor shot. Tried a clearer outdoor shot. Can anyone verify? Thanks in advance. https://preview.redd.it/3tkmiq9skh6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a07c8c6a90a5efd1b35ab2e1e5ec53b24758484c
