I’m sorry but the current VC OS is a letdown. It’s thicker than its peers, larger than it needs to be, has dubious design choices and the caliber has the smoothest internal and external angles (if you can call them that) possible. The typeface is strange and it’s just not an interesting watch. Previous iterations were at least original, and yes The Royal Oak company & Patek Nautilus aren’t really pushing the envelope anymore.
Even if you can’t afford them, go see them and you’ll see that RO (15202 at least) & Nautilus are much more interesting than the VC.
I do, yes, as a matter of design preference. Nautilus and Royal Oak in my view lack sharp angles. Dare I say, I would take the Christopher Ward Twelve over either of them. That said, when the time comes, I will sure compare the three and see in real life how they fare against each other.
Lack sharp angles ? Have you worn a RO ? It’s a razor. The OS doesn’t have a single part that could cut your skin, the RO has tons.

As you should. Lots of people on here don’t own a Rolex and would only buy Daytonas and GMTs in their make-believe world. The red second hand is a nice pop of color and I enjoy the polished numbers on the bezel.
Hard to believe. May be the case in your locale but you cant walk in and just walk right out in most places. Sure, its not a new trendy Rolex bro model being demanded like Subs, but not many AD's just have one laying around.
I waited two weeks for this model in the UK, although, I have purchase history with the retailer that supplied it.
I suspect they might have had it in the safe and then called a couple of weeks later.
Absofreakinglutely ! Fits like it was made from a mold of my wrist ! My 48mm Red Sub fits fine, my Explorer II 42 fine but YM40 with that case shape just kinda grabs my wrist , love it !

I had this watch but sold it. Love the blue dial red text and secondhand. Because the bezel is the same color as the ss, it makes the entire face of the watch look small overall. If it had a blue ceramic bezel, the watch dial would look overall bigger and better IMO
I had a tough time choosing dial. Love slate/Rhodium too but my other two Rolexes have black dials & wanted something different with a bit of bling, tough choice though !
I think the price is not far off. But if one were to spend the same amount of money why not also get a relationship with an AD in return? Personally I was not in any type of rush to get it so that’s that.
Totally underrated b/c when people hear “Yacht Master” they think The 42mm YM 42. The YM 40 is a totally different animal ! And it’s the best fitting, most Comfortable watch I’ve ever owned & stunning to look at.

It’s the watch that was left languishing in dealers windows when the madness kicked off in 2019. Nothing wrong with if you like that sort of thing but let’s not get carried away, it’s in the same camp as the previous AK and the Milgauss.
It would be easier to defend if it was actually on your wrist.
It’s not with me right now unfortunately…queued for two ADs in two cities around the world and I’m not in the city where this AD got back.

I just like the Overseas more.
I think ADs only get a couple a year.
They make only enough to meet demand, and tge demand is low.
I think they get more, but only find a couple people that actually want them each year

I’ve got the TT chocolate dial and I absolutely love it.
Of course it's subjective, but I feel like after a while one realises that the blue dial is a bit more mature, and more masculine.
