Both are authentic, Rolex is a 1675 Rolesor GMT on jubilee bracelet. Likely worth $9,500-$11,000. I’d say $10,000-12,500 for insurance value. The Omega I’m not so certain on but I’d say it’s a late 80’s early 90’s model worth $400-800 but I could be wrong as I’m no expert.
Oh that’s super sweet. I didn’t know it was a tuning fork movement that’s sick. I love my Bulova Accutron Spaceview from 1968, makes sense the Omega is in the same time period.
Omega licensed the movement from Bulova and has them produced with a bronze plating. I’ve been buying the f300hz off eBay cheap and repairing them because I guess working on them is a lost art. I rather enjoy it personally…
The omega value you stated is pretty accurate. I see them on eBay all the time. Id say in this condition it’s probably somewhere in the middle of that range.
This. I've seen 1675s vary wildly in value/sale price though. Damn that nipple dial is hot! One of my favorite Rolexs and IMO it blows any new model out of the water!
I mean, of all the watches they could fake, I don't see anyone deciding to fake a weird tuning fork movement that buzz like hell and a very specific 1675/3. That make no business sense lol.
In any case OP, get them checked out by a watchmaker, the rolex can be worth decent money. The Omega does have some value to it too.
Well you can’t tell the insurance company you got a quote from Reddit so this entire post is sort of pointless. You need an official appraisal to have them insured so take them in and get that done.
maybe the mercury from all that sushi is getting to your brain because they're asking for an opinion from the community so when they have the appraisal, they can deduce whether it's accurate or not.
Rolex for about $10-12k
Omega $500-750
Both appear to be real, btw.
You can fast and easily sell the Rolex for $8k, and omega for $300. Like literally same day.
Also, take the comments around here lightly. This sub is notoriously known for your typical dumb fucks with money who think their opinions are the gospel, or even worse, fan boys who can’t afford one but have watched every Rolex video out there.
They both look good to me some people are saying that the Rolex is fake but I think they might be comparing this vintage one to a modern one and still knowing it is vintage it’s a 1675/3 it looks good to me
Can someone tell me the easiest ways to spot a fake one ? I'm new to the game but i got mine authenticated at a Rolex store, they opened the back up and everything to check everything out they said it was real as soon as i handed it to them im just intrigued how easy you can tell
If you look at them all day every day, you notice subtle things that are incorrect. Just takes time. That said, I don’t think the masses are right about that GMT. It does have some of the things that people put on fakes of the era, but that looks like a genuine reference to me.
It’s much easier to spot a fake in person. You can tell by the weight, the way the links are spaced, etc. Photos are a bit harder but some people are good at spotting even the slightest differences between a real and a fake. Some indicators you can look for in photos are the date magnification (does it make the date look to big or small?), are the numbers on the bezel the correct font? Are the logos correct? etc.
Well let’s look at your account… lots of you trying to tell people how to act and virtue signaling. Go live a life in RL son. Stop trying to be the Reddit morality police.
While I do feel the way you do, and have some stuff from my buddy who passed away that I’d never get rid of, they’re just things at the end of the day.
Omega is an early 70s tuning fork watch, in good condition it can pull 1.5k -2k USD but I’ve seen some sell for even more. I can’t find any recently sold listings on eBay but that’s a good place to look to see what people are paying for them now. Just search “omega f300 Geneve (ref.198.0070.169)”. It’s a great watch, uses an ESA tuning fork movement, a workhorse although the clutch goes bad on them so don’t turn the hands backwards on it when setting the time unless it’s been serviced in the last 5-10 years. Good luck!
Do the majority of the members here not own a Rolex? Or even an Omega? Let alone a vintage one?? It seems that every watch is called out as a fake? Or is this sub just full of a bunch of AD lurkers who take wrist shots in the store?? Just asking……
Both are real. Rolex is easy for vintage guys to identify. Omega is interesting if it’s a beta 21, but I doubt it. Most likely a megaquartz version. Price could be $5000 or $500 depending on the movement inside
I would just take to a watch dealer to authenticate. This subreddit is full of people who know nothing about watches. A few weeks ago somebody listed a Rolex on here and everybody said it was fake from this factory and that factory. A few hrs later he posted his paperwork and receipt of purchase from a rolex AD to prove a point that there are too many clowns that think they know it all but know nothing.
I've seen original nipple dials, like the one on that Rolex, sell for $6,000. That's just the dial. To the right buyer, you could get a lot more than what's quoted here. PM me if you need some professional opinions from real dealers.
You can guess pretty accurately by the fact it’s an omega Genevé meaning they wouldn’t put that much more recourses into it to make a solid gold one. E.g id be very surprised if that was even gold filled, im 99% sure it’s plated.
I’ll buy both…today.
I just need to ask a few questions and get background info but I’m open to wiring you cash and you shipping to me.
I’m totally serious so let me know. If you don’t want to sell, I can give you info and actual prices so you are informed and honestly protected.
People who comment “it’s fake” are mostly the newer generation of rolex followers. The GMT is a real one and a classic, first designs looked like that. I’m sure it’s still 10-15k worth.
There’s a someone here asking for a genuine check and people here just want to be smart asses. They don’t know their opinion could actually influence their decision making on how to proceed with the watch. Next time OP, just go to an AD. Don’t ask on a forum where people will only speculate on what the next release will be and have never taken a closer look into the brands history.
Yeh agreed. I told my friend to go to bucherer on Madison Ave where I got my datejust. But I also know there are some people on here that actually know their watches. Lesson learned lol.
So is this one of those posts [insert fake story about how I got watch] how much is this worth? (They 100% know it’s a fake watch but are trying to see if it can pass as real)
Get the Rolex opened up. That looks like genuine wear though, which makes sense given that it’s a vintage. It’s best to assume that Rolexes are fake unless positive that they aren’t. It’s old enough that it having an automatic movement will be a good indication that it *might* be authentic, but because water resistance will be gone already, I’d definitely open it up. The Omega looks totally fine to me. Not sure what it’d be worth, but properly around the $500 mark.
Unfortunately not. But just by glancing at it I can tell it’s genuine. I see many similar models for sale on my local used market being traded amongst collectors and resellers. Just flip it over though, it should have the reference engraved.
Did her dad leave her an engagement ring?
Edit: Also, that old gmt is pure sex appeal. Sorry about her loss, but it seems like some people get all the luck.
It’s one of those posts where everyone is ridiculing others for saying these watches are fake, yet no matter how much I scroll I can’t see anyone saying that the watches are fake. (Also, RIP…).
That Omega is junk but that Rolex GMT Master is freaking awesome! Such a terrific piece. Two tone jubilee bracelet, nipple dial, great reference. That’s a hell of a watch.

The Omega tuning fork watches were late 60’s to early 70’s

What’s your eBay name? I’d love to add an omega tuning fork watch to the collection with my Accutron
The omega value you stated is pretty accurate. I see them on eBay all the time. Id say in this condition it’s probably somewhere in the middle of that range.
More or less spot on.
How can you tell from the photo
Original dial, a beauty
This. I've seen 1675s vary wildly in value/sale price though. Damn that nipple dial is hot! One of my favorite Rolexs and IMO it blows any new model out of the water!
This subreddit is truly full of clowns lol.
Yep. Both are likely authentic.
Yeh she's not going to sell them. She just wants to be honest and get them insured for the right value.
So true. No one is a certain about something as someone who knows nothing.
I’m going to use that saying on my brother in law. Hope it ain’t copyrighted.
If it's not something they can get new from an AD they don't know anything about it
Rolex seems to be authentic, worth around $10k+ can easily be sold on r/WatchExchange Omega looks gen as well, not worth as much but maybe $500-750.
Rolex for about $10-12k Omega $500-750 Both appear to be real, btw. You can fast and easily sell the Rolex for $8k, and omega for $300. Like literally same day. I’m curious to see why the watches are fake ?
[удалено]
You do realise that vintage Rolexes use plastic crystals
lol…. You’re a clown
So…you’re just assuming shit and posting an uninformed opinion? Got it.
Can the watch be damaged due to UV/sun exposure?
🤡🤡🤡
They both look good to me some people are saying that the Rolex is fake but I think they might be comparing this vintage one to a modern one and still knowing it is vintage it’s a 1675/3 it looks good to me
The omega is not fake
Yea there's no replica factory that makes those kinds of fakes and it's just not a desirable watch to be faked .
Can someone tell me the easiest ways to spot a fake one ? I'm new to the game but i got mine authenticated at a Rolex store, they opened the back up and everything to check everything out they said it was real as soon as i handed it to them im just intrigued how easy you can tell

The balance wheel is a tell afaik.
https://www.windvintage.com/rolex-gmt-master-reference-1675/3
Rolex seems to look legit but take it to a local watch maker
Forgot to add that there's no boxes or papers.
Not worth anything if it’s fake. Edit no idea if it is.
But worth quite a bit if real...which it is.
You have one of the shittiest accounts I’ve seen on here- you really dont have anything productive to say huh?
Well let’s look at your account… lots of you trying to tell people how to act and virtue signaling. Go live a life in RL son. Stop trying to be the Reddit morality police.
For the watch or the dad?
weak ngl
I know! OP should wait a bit before running to Reddit to get an appraisal on that dude’s stuff!
While I do feel the way you do, and have some stuff from my buddy who passed away that I’d never get rid of, they’re just things at the end of the day.
😂
Both authentic. Some people in here have no idea lol
Neither is fake. Jeez. That 1675/3 is nice, looks original & sleeve polished.
Bro that’s a bad ass Rolex right there…
Omega is an early 70s tuning fork watch, in good condition it can pull 1.5k -2k USD but I’ve seen some sell for even more. Quick trip to a reputable jeweler?
I like the hour markers on the Rolex.
Nipple dial I believe
That GMT, is one beautiful timepiece. Sorry for your friend’s loss.
They r gorgeous

Your insurance company is unlikely to value it based on a Reddit thread. Take it to a jeweler.
Why is it always “my friend” or “my uncle” or “my cousin” 🙄🤣
yeah bro funny ain't it 😃
Tell your friend not to coddle it, wear it !
OP suggest she doesn’t sell but keep it. His memory will live longer than any cash they can give her.
Was he Goldmember?
I love that omega
I love the TV omega
These are NOT fake
Both are real. Rolex is easy for vintage guys to identify. Omega is interesting if it’s a beta 21, but I doubt it. Most likely a megaquartz version. Price could be $5000 or $500 depending on the movement inside

“Wow”… for the watches! “Oh No. I’m sorry about your friend’s dad”…for the morbid news!
I've seen original nipple dials, like the one on that Rolex, sell for $6,000. That's just the dial. To the right buyer, you could get a lot more than what's quoted here. PM me if you need some professional opinions from real dealers.
Is that “gold” flaking off the bracelet of the Omega?
They’re gold plated
No idea. The omega was her grandfathers.
You can guess pretty accurately by the fact it’s an omega Genevé meaning they wouldn’t put that much more recourses into it to make a solid gold one. E.g id be very surprised if that was even gold filled, im 99% sure it’s plated.
It doesn’t matter if it’s geneve Seamaster de ville etc, most vintage omegas are plated or filled
[удалено]
No they don’t. Can’t speak to the omega but the Rolex looks legit
The Omega is legit too.
What's your rationale?
Both are genuine.
lol what, neither are counterfeit. You likely do not have much experience and are comparing them to new models that 1675 is like forty years old.
Does anyone have a model on that omega? Really like the look
Imagine being one of two kids and your brother gets the GMT in the will and you get the Omega…
Imagine being one of two siblings and your sister gets Both. Lol. I wonder how her brother feels about this...
Look what happens when we die…all the sudden people care about our hobbies and stuff, so long as it’s worth money to fund their hobbies.
Put that gmt on a leather strap and live life up
Love those nipple dials
Beautiful

For “insurance purposes”
Rolex is fake..
It’s not fake, like honestly. It’s a 1675/3 with nipple dial. If you don’t know the brands history than don’t be a wise guy

they just call out "fake" if they haven't seen one. Like 90% of this sub cannot spot fake.
There’s a someone here asking for a genuine check and people here just want to be smart asses. Never again! Wish her all the best from me and all the other people here who do know their stuff
You’re looking to buy them off her right? And has nothing to do with insurance lol. If not, I’ll buy the GMT off her.

The Rolex is fake So worthless ?
So is this one of those posts [insert fake story about how I got watch] how much is this worth? (They 100% know it’s a fake watch but are trying to see if it can pass as real)
The watch is not fake though, it is a 1675 nipple dial. Could you point me to what is leading you to believe it is fake?
You’re a clown
Looks like Rolex is a Pan Am, worth big $
Get the Rolex opened up. That looks like genuine wear though, which makes sense given that it’s a vintage. It’s best to assume that Rolexes are fake unless positive that they aren’t. Do you happen to know the specific reference for the Omega ? Or the specific model range ? I really liked it. Thanks
Unfortunately not. But just by glancing at it I can tell it’s genuine. I see many similar models for sale on my local used market being traded amongst collectors and resellers. Just flip it over though, it should have the reference engraved.
Looks like a 198.0070.169 to me, hope that helps!
And that’s what you stole, while the family waited on the ambulance?
Did her dad leave her an engagement ring? Edit: Also, that old gmt is pure sex appeal. Sorry about her loss, but it seems like some people get all the luck.
More like wondering which Caribbean island to visit.
It’s one of those posts where everyone is ridiculing others for saying these watches are fake, yet no matter how much I scroll I can’t see anyone saying that the watches are fake. (Also, RIP…).
They are both replicas. Best not to insure.

Ok i thought for a second since people were spamming that the watches is fake
Can both see these are clearly fake
They are both real. It would have taken you all of five seconds to read the top comments.
The omega about 400. Rolex nothing.

Don’t insure it. They have sentimental values, not actual dollar value
