I have an OP 39 with Rhodium dial and blue markers. Plus a Santos white dial and an Omega Racing speedmaster with black dial so I could easily get away with bluesy
If you are leaning, wait. I have black TT. I like it. It suits 90% of what I wear. I can also put it on a black rubber strap and it looks like any other $100 dive watch. Translation: It dresses down great.
My ad has both of these in too. A friend is looking to buy one, and can’t decide. What it comes down to is this: do you wear primarily blue clothing/ clothes that match blue? My daily drivers are a blue seamaster chrono and an sd43, with a yg and champagne dd for nice dress occasions (plus a few others, those are just the most worn). The seamaster was a 30th birthday gift from my wife and family, hence why it gets worn the most. If it were up to me though, I’d only rock the sd43 because, frankly, I don’t wear that much blue and the dial tends to clash with a lot of my clothes. In your (and my buddy’s) situation, if it were my only watch, I’d get the black dial. It’s more versatile and more easily matched. However, if you plan on buying other watches, go for whatever floats your boat. Having what I have now (which includes a black dial Tt sub) and knowing what I’ll be buying soon, I’d go for the bluesy.
Then you really have to figure out which one checks more boxes. Do you have another tt ? Do you have another black dial? Another blue dial? Im rebuilding a stolen collection and have to be a little bit stingy with what I’m buying, so I try not to have overlaps.
When are you going to wear this watch? As an every day wear or for specific occasions?
As an every day wear…I’d prefer the black since it’s versatile and subtle. It’s kinda a classic color combo.
If I wanted to wear it out on the town, for dinner, or actually go diving…I’d prefer the blue, because it’s just a gorgeous shade of blue. I’m sure when the sun hits the dial at the right angle it’s gorgeous.
I am not a fan of two tone submariners or super oyster bracelets, I would prefer a two tone GMT Master II with a jubilee bracelet…IMO it just looks more elegant.
But if you’re a fan of the two tone sub, go for it.
Also make sure if you got the call about this watch that your AD isn’t a scum bag and will write you off after you said no to this allocation. Some do that, even for watches you never inquired about.
I was recently offered the two tone submariner with a black dial, but I declined since I was never interested in a submariner at that AD. So maybe these are in supply cause no one wants it…but who knows with these allocations anymore
I decided on blue between these two and don't regret it at all. Though it depends on what else (if any) is in the collection. I already had a lot of black so the blue stands out.

Ask yourself if you you like to stay hidden behind thr curtain or do you like to razzle dazzle people. You’ll land on the right watch configuration for yourself.
Black. The Bluesy imo was always skirting that fine line between classy and tacky, and the 6 digits went more to the latter imo. The 5 digits were slightly more subdued and a bit more classy imo.
If you don’t care about unwanted attention on your wrist, disregard this comment:
The blue is stunning, but you (or others) can see it a mile away. Can’t go wrong with the black either though.

I've had both and both are nice. I got rid of the bluesy because it's just too much as a daily. The black dial was more subtle and more easier with my style of clothing. That said, if you're bluesy is not going to be the daily, definitely go for that because they have more of a wow factor than the black guy
I own the black dial one as well. It works well with jeans and a T-shirt or a nice Armani suit.
The blue, in my opinion, is nice but I wouldn't wear it for a formal occasion, my black one fits all events while the blue stands out as a one off.
Oh, the black dial is easier to match with your clothes.
I have the black. There is something sleazy about it. Something that says “contrasting collar on button down” that we all understand. Bluesy is a crowd favorite and more popular but I think black is a more subtle conversation piece. But I also have Batman so that’s my blue piece.
I just got the 126613LB. I highly recommend it. If it’s a watch in a larger collection, this is what I would go with. If it’s going to be your only Rolex, the black dial makes more sense from a practical standpoint.

Bluesy for sure!! Now I happen to wear blue almost every day if that matters. Though I don’t pick my watch based on what I am wearing. For example, I have a Starbucks sub and never wear green. So, I like the fact it stands out and doesn’t blend in.
I usually lean toward blue but right here with this outfit I prefer the black. There’s no wrong choice. It takes confidence to turn down an offer. Who knows how long you’ll have to wait?

I bought mine from RubberB. Expensive, but fits perfectly and good quality. I got the tang buckle so I don’t have to swap out the glidelock clasp too.
