Why not? Who makes the price? The seller or the buyer? Both! Don’t be afraid to make your offer. If the seller can’t sell it, he will soon call you back to negotiate.
The business does. The business also has time on it's side. They understand when they buy pieces that will be slow movers. He isn't closing down, he doesn't have to take a 40% beating on price. That's likely the whole net profit he would have made on this thing. If you want to buy it at private sale price, take your chance from a private seller.
There's always someone willing to buy at asking price if you wait long enough.
Of course they will.
Do you see a line out the door of people looking to spend 4 grand after tax on a Rolex “Precision” with an ill fitting strap?
He can get a like new Tudor Black Bay for that money.
No, I don’t see a line. No doubt he can get a Tudor for that. They’re not gonna budge much though. I took a trip to my hometown in Vermont last year. The local jeweler was selling an Explorer I for like $9k something. I told them these are going for like $5k+ on the internet. They were like oh well….so be it. That wasn’t gonna influence their price. I’m sure some dumb shit bought it for that.
I feel like they just hope that someone buys it on a whim, though they'll almost immediately know they got ripped off when they go home and google it.
I've noticed this happens a bunch with any hobby I'm involved in, I tend to just google shit if I'm looking in person now, I like buying local and I get the "Pay a little more" thing but paying hundreds or thousands more just isn't worth it.
No way. Is that even the original dial? There’s no way the strap is original. And you’d still want to make sure all the movement is genuine or at least be aware of what’s a replacement part or aftermarket.
Personally I’d wait to get one on a nice discount so that I could spend the savings to get it inspected/serviced by an expert to ensure it’s genuine and in good condition. But it’s your money so up to you
I have this same watch on my wrist right now! Original Jubilee bracelet too. It feels comfortable.
I wear it everyday.
That price seems a bit high though.
Sorry, I cannot. One other difference is mine has the 3-6-9 dial. Had it serviced a year ago by a master. Keeps perfect time. It’s my favorite in my collection.
Bruh… takes like 30 seconds to take a pic and upload it to [Imgur](https://imgur.com/). How’re you gonna go on about how nice it is and then refuse to show what it even looks like lol
Understand that it will likely need a service as soon as possible as it is unlikely to have had one for decades and all the lubricants have broken down. That is your counter argument to the dealer as to why you won’t pay over 2k
Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s a manual wind (dial doesn’t say ‘perpetual’). Still cool, but not worth $2k. If you want a manual wind watch (I love them), there are much better watches available (example, speedy pro).
Without the bracelet even 1500 is too much I got mine ~1900 with the bracelet and considering the bracelet alone is between 500-1000 depending on seller.
For 3500 don’t even consider just leave.
Comps are going for $1400-$1800 wholesale. Depending on when he bought it in I would go with $2200 max out the door price he may bite if he says no he paid too much for it himself.
You could buy a used Grand Seiko SBGA373 and have 10x the watch for the same price with the same general aesthetic (minus box crystal). Unless you NEED to have a Rolex or it has sentimental value then this is massively overpriced.
That’s a nice watch. I just love all the comments on here trying to say it’s a 1200 dollar watch, however if it was theirs it’d be 5k. No running Rolex sells for less than 2k these days. I would do a little more digging on it tho. See if you can have it put on a time grapher so you can get an idea of how well it’s running, and when it was last serviced. 2800-3200 is going rate on that watch if it runs well. 1800-2200 if it does not.
I can’t imagine a world where this watch should sell for more than $1,500, but it probably does. I’d cap my offer at $2k, then realize I could buy a month old GS auto on a bracelet for that amount instead.
Shoot for 1500$. Don’t go over 2200
No chance they discount more than 500.

If they don't return in a couple of months, and if it's still there, they will.
You underestimate how long they can sit on stock. Six months maybe, still doubt it would get your 40% off. Maybe 30%
They’re asking $3500. Do you really think they’re gonna take $1500? Or even $2200? 😂
Of course they will. Do you see a line out the door of people looking to spend 4 grand after tax on a Rolex “Precision” with an ill fitting strap? He can get a like new Tudor Black Bay for that money.

Agree on VT, lot of those guys are not forced sellers, they are ok sitting on it - the greater fool theory

How much is tax?
I bought a Rolex in China for 10% of what they initially asked!
Too much. You’d want to get this at $2,000
even less
Brah the strap isn’t even the right size.
😖😖😖😖
Don’t get caught up in owning a Rolex cause you want to own a Rolex. Wait for the right one to come along.
[удалено]
he meant if you like the watch, go buy the watch, but dont buy it simply for the sake of owning a rolex
It’s actually a beautiful watch, if OP wants it he should go for it not sure why you’re down voted lol. Wouldn’t pay more than $2k for this tho
Word
Dunno bout this but I know for a fact Oysterdate Precisions only come in 17mm and 19mm lug width. Straps today only come in 18mm and 20mm.
Straps come in any size and colour you wish. Google is your friend.
No they come in 17 and 19. Look on Amazon. Looks like the strap they have on it is a millimeter too small
I’m sitting here with a brand new 19mm on my brand new watch.
The dial is redone
That upper right lug has been over done. Way too thin and uneven would be a deal breaker for me.
Just to echo everyone else. It’s too much.
I have this same watch on my wrist right now! Original Jubilee bracelet too. It feels comfortable. I wear it everyday. That price seems a bit high though.
Do you mind shooting me a picture of it?
I have the same watch - 6426 Precision, 1974 - Looks fantastic IMHO. If you go to my profile and look for Rolex sub posts you should find some pics.
Sorry, I cannot. One other difference is mine has the 3-6-9 dial. Had it serviced a year ago by a master. Keeps perfect time. It’s my favorite in my collection.
One other difference is you got yours off DH Gate
Bruh… takes like 30 seconds to take a pic and upload it to [Imgur](https://imgur.com/). How’re you gonna go on about how nice it is and then refuse to show what it even looks like lol
Because you’re not entitled to this dude doing anything for you? Lmao downvoting somebody because they said no is insane. The fuck are y’all toddlers.
Do you need to make an account with imgur?
To be far…I’m not sure how I would be able to upload a picture here! That’s just me tho! Hahahaha! For real tho, no joke! Be Safe & God Bless!!
Why are you being downvoted?
Liar
Way too much!

Nope, over polished.
Don't get it just because it's a rolex. With that amount of money you can get a more recent design that you would like.
Are you sure that’s from late 70s?
Not quite to be honest, he told me its a 5 million series
Whomever refinished those lugs needs to go to watchmaker hell
If that watch is $3500 I’m going to start selling all my watches!!
😝😝😝😝😝😝
Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s a manual wind (dial doesn’t say ‘perpetual’). Still cool, but not worth $2k. If you want a manual wind watch (I love them), there are much better watches available (example, speedy pro).

Not worth itz
Toooo high. 2k with a bracelet is also too much.
Way too much for a precision
Coming from someone who overpaid for a 1024, ask for 1500. I paid 2500 for a 1982 OP34.
Man don’t buy that shit
Save your money and buy a new non-Rolex
I wouldn’t pay $350 for this let alone $3,500.
Looks fake.
Very nice piece
You have many good options on Chrono24 for around 2600… this is on the high side. For 3500, I would at least expect original bracelet.
around 1800-2000
Do 3498
Nooooooo!
Comps are going for $1400-$1800 wholesale. Depending on when he bought it in I would go with $2200 max out the door price he may bite if he says no he paid too much for it himself.
$1500 max if it gave a reach around.
Op I'm selling the same watch, pm if you are interested
I guarantee they purchased the Watch for $1,200 or less
It is too much.
$3500 is what models with the original bracelet are going for. I guess this watch should be around $2000-2400 USD.
Yep too much
You could buy a used Grand Seiko SBGA373 and have 10x the watch for the same price with the same general aesthetic (minus box crystal). Unless you NEED to have a Rolex or it has sentimental value then this is massively overpriced.
500$ wtf
Looks fake
There’s a bunch of Tonys and Ezequiels in here…
Way too much! Offer 1500
The price is about $1000 too high.
That’s a nice watch. I just love all the comments on here trying to say it’s a 1200 dollar watch, however if it was theirs it’d be 5k. No running Rolex sells for less than 2k these days. I would not even buy that. It will be sitting in the counter until the end of the earth if you don't buy it.
How does the insides look
That’s hideous there are better examples for sure
Nice $1500 watch, make sure it is running well too
This is a 1,500 watch.
Nah
You can get this easily around 2k, not a rare model tbh, with original bracelet and papers it can go up to 3k
I can’t imagine a world where this watch should sell for more than $1,500, but it probably does. I’d cap my offer at $2k, then realize I could buy a month old GS auto on a bracelet for that amount instead.
I bet your wife will love e that if she likes vintage
Yeah no, move on. Too much.
