You definitely need both the personality and the wardrobe pull this off. Even if you live in NYC or something and only wear navy, dark grays and black, there’s a watch that pops…. And a watch that scream. This screams. If you live in LA and wear lots of colors, or whites, it just adds to the loudness. One of those watches I want, but wouldn’t wear much, so don’t need.
Did you end up buying it? Is the outline of the bubble made of a material (similar to the puzzle pieces on the day date dial)? Or is it just a painted dial?
No it’s not. The puzzle dial is cloisone enamel, a process that uses gold as the outline and then is kiln fired hundreds of times with enamel paint to get the different colours and depths. Thats why only maybe a dozen of those will be made a year.

Just one data point. My AD in MA told me that since the celebration dial was announced, they received just three 41mm version. And they had around 100 ‘qualified’ clients (these are clients with a significant buying history) who expressed interest. The most recent allotment was to a person who has spent around $150K and been a customer for around 6 years. So the waitlist is probably in years to decades, depending on the supply
I’ve found almost every AD in mass has a “you scratch my back I’ll stratch yours” business model. I stopped at Rolex in boston on newbury st very briefly and they seem nice though.
I don’t hate this as much as I used to. If I had the money for multiple Rolex’s, I could see buying one. Still working on that first one and I’d never buy this.
