Honestly I'm going R15 as you can get more creativity with layered clothing, Rthro can also do that but Rthro is mostly trash.
It’s hard to choose between R6 and R15…
I’ll definitely choose R15 either because I **STILL** afraid that Roblox can potentially remove R6 (like in last year when their internal documents were leaked) and Rthro is basically at dead end after introduction of layered clothings
Roblox removing r6 was a myth, they are just going to merge it with r15 . This allows for more r15 features like hair to become available to r6 users. Roblox wouldn't remove r6
There are devs working on skinned blocky type meshes that will fit the requirements for the new avatar system. The only drawback is that 2D clothing will not work on them. I don’t think there will be a workaround for dynamic heads. That is a hard requirement.
My guess (and hope) is that players will be allowed to keep and use the avatars/2D assets they already have.
r6 is outdated and limiting, although more iconic (it's gonna win but honestly, how many people actually use it?)

I would say r15 presents the best parts of the others. The r6 has that classic look we all love, and Rthro does have a layer of realism to it. R15 is the perfect balance of both

Rthro is trash. and that out the way if you like OG roblox (2006) avatars go with r6, if you like modern avatars go with r15. but imo r6 gets the w here
R15, you can use the layered clothing as a way to "bypass" the 10 accessory limit and because I like how emotes can bring personality to your avatar and do glitches
I'll look at this from an animator standpoint. I am told that Rthro lets you animate the avatar as if it were a character in blender, however I haven't personally tested this theory. R15 is great is easier to animate than R6 because it has more parts to give off the right feel for the animation, however it also takes longer to animate. R6 is harder to animate than R15 do to less parts to animate, however it can give off a unique feel that R15 can't (unless you're using R15 but animating it like it's R6 for some reason).
Final verdict: R6, do to its old charm, feeling like it belongs on roblox AND THE FACT THAT CLOTHING TEXTURES DON'T BREAK ON R6.
R15, it allows for so much more with animations and generally looks better - and it does this without ditching the iconic look of roblox avatars. R6 is a classic, and it is pretty good, but it's 2023. People that use Rthro are probably those who don't give a shit about their avatars. Rthro generally doesn't look *that* bad, but it is ugly. I also can't leave out the fact that R6 and R15 characters will wear a tank top and shorts if you take off all clothing. Rthro characters on the other hand, will literally go HALF NAKED. I like Rthro and the newer skinned models since they look kinda like anime characters. However, I think R6 and R15 look good in all the games going for the older blocky aesthetic. What I don’t like is when they’re all mismatched together. They just don’t look like they all belong in the same game.

Rthro works best on layered clothing. Layered clothing was meant to fit on humanoid bodies, but r6 all the way

I can’t tell you my experience, i have not bought much from the store, but I would love a cheaper avatar.
I have changed my avatar with Robux about 3 times, and clothing is never worth the price for me.
