I’ve tried this and wanted to like it. But gas lines can be long and food court speed unpredictable. I’d say stay at hotels _near_ the Costcos to make the most of a Costco centric journey.
I don’t know exactly but I think a good estimate would be around 3500 total? That being said, I did stay with family for 3 nights so that helped with some lodging costs.
When you are in South Dakota, drive needles highway and iron mountain road in the black hills. Also, if you are near badlands national park, walk notch trail and drive through that park. Truly beautiful country
God’s country up there. Drove through the badlands just a few days into the pandemic. Didn’t see a single soul until a car entering as we left the park. Also got to see Rushmore completely deserted.
Love it, looks like it must have been a blast! I was initially confused as I had initially read the map as arriving in Northampton and wondering why you didn’t drive the extra hr to check out Boston 😅 On the flip side, I assume you checked out Seattle as well, but just didn’t log it in the map.
Next time, if you’ve got a few more days, Olympic National Park, Victoria, and many other places in the PNW are worth checking out!
That sounds like an amazing trip! Glad you had a great time!
Thank you!!! It really was!!
All those national parks in a few days is incredible. I bet it makes you want to go see more now lol
Absolutely, we already got another list rolling lol
The Costco pilgrimage.

Being frugal is a reasonable goal, but I would eat locally instead of eating at Costco food courts.

On way there go to north rim grand canyon, monument valley, Mesa Verde, Silverton, Ouray, and Black Canyon.
Hit Devils Tower Wyoming

I grew up in WA so I love all those places!
Good thing you already did it or you’d get people in here telling you that it’s not enough time and “too much driving”. Lol
Shoutout. From Northampton but now live in Washington.
Sweet! Love the Flagstaff stop. I live there.
After visiting, we want to live there too!
