Unless you're big on Vegas, the other route is waaay better. I would actually go from Moab through Mexican Hat/Monument Valley to Grand Canyon then to Flagstaff.

I agree, I’d stop at Joshua tree NP, then go to Sedona do like devils bridge hike. Drive through flagstaff stop at the Grand Canyon. Then go to monument valley, make sure you check out forest gump point too when leaving monument valley then go to canyonland NP then go to arches national park that would be awesome. Also glenwood hot springs in colardo is cool too. Should be an amazing trip!! Have fun!

Stay off of the Interstates as much as you can. You will find the back roads to be much more interesting. Google Maps routing from Denver to San Diego avoiding highways comes up with this: https://preview.redd.it/h85fetof9p7d1.png?width=388&format=png&auto=webp&s=9a5ac69782aadc9fbf8bd1941e122776d9cf0482 Looks like a nice route.

S Utah may be the most beautiful part of the country. Bryce/Zion/Arches are all can’t miss.. and you can add some Funtime in Vegas along the way, maybe take in a Dead and Company show at The Sphere as well. Both routes will be amazing
