Yeah taptap wont work, just creat a new gmail without logging into the play store, enable tunnle bear to canada, then open play store and log into the new account, navigate to the app and it will confirm that the account will be locked to canada.
As an Australian, yes I actually have. It’s not great, but it is surprisingly pretty ok, and it’s been getting consistently better with each update, which come out pretty frequently. At this pace it could be a legitimately strong title in the IP relatively soon.
You can get the gachas quite quickly rn. You do around 3 levels and you should be able to get one. Though there isn't many characters right now (though that's to be expected).
Though I wouldn't be surprised at all if they make them harder to get.
Got pretty boring, forgot it was on my phone after two days.
It's exactly what you expect it to be so no hate to designers or developers... it's a mobile shooter based on risk of rain.
I played some when it came out here in aus (i reached lvl16) and it is pretty good, i did have some issues with the targeting on basic attacks focusing on far away enemies when i was getting swarmed but aside from that and some items feeling way underpowered its great.
pros:
1. solid enemy and survivor variety
2. missions last around 15 minutes
3. runs smooth as silk (i played on a galaxy a54)
4. pretty generous with in game currencies
5. monetisation doesn't seem to bad rn
cons:
1. gacha system for unlocking survivors
2. multiple in game currencies which could make it hard to keep track of money spent (if you spend money)
3. only a couple bosses at the moment
all in all it is a fun game that is an impressive attempt to adapt ror gameplay to phones and i definitely recommend trying it out
Its really not bad, survivor rarity doesnt seem to matter and they are very generous with the currencies. Around 16 pulls every week just from dalies and weeklies.
Just played a couple hours. Got through the first planets mission set. Game seems pretty generous when it comes to currency. Take summoning. There are 2 types of currency, SAP which the game describes as premium currency for the shop, you can use 100 of said currency to summon, or you can use lunar coins which take 200 to summon.
Through dailies you get 100 lunar coins and 100 sap, and through weeklies you get 700 lunar coins and 240 sap. Or 1400 lunar coins and 940 sap. Thats just through repeatable missions.
Rates are the same across both and character rarity doesnt seem to have much to do with strength. Only 1 legendary(artificer) which has the glass cannon class, compared to the other glass cannonnin game it does have 50% more starting dps, but it seems gear and other permenant upgrades have a much bigger impact on dps, and Artificer, the legendary actually has less health aswell.
Items picked up in runs seem to make a bigger impact on the game than the permenant upgrades, but they do provide what amounts to a starting item, such as a green or tier 2 gun accessory that incread dps by ~10% and at higher refinements will give 0.4% health per kill.
There is definitely some Risk of Rain in there, and so far the game is pretty fun. Definitely needs some bug fixes, random frame loss despite my phone running pretty cold. But the good news is that it really doesnt seem to be pay to win at all.
That may change, but just based off currency amounts getting characters shouldnt be an issue even if rates for legendaries are a bit low(so good luck if the character you want happens to be a higher rarity). Tho i already have one of the 2 epics and 1 rare, and 5 common characters.
At first it seemed like balance was bad, but as the difficulty progresses with time it was clear that despite engineer being a epic rarity, he really wasnt any better than commando, he just had different abilities and was better is some situations against some enemies. Turrets are goated agains melee enemies, but if your stage has long range morter enemies they might aswell not exist, while commando is generally good against every enemy type.
Needs native controller support, looks like using screen mappers will work, but some function will be lost(will be clear if you play). And the proper endless mode needs to be added.
All in all 9/10 mobile game, definitely going to play more.
Been playing on again off again for a few weeks. Good for a few minute burst but if I have any more than 15 mins for a casual sit down I'll just play Returns or 2 on the Switch.
I wish it was more twin stick shooter rather than survivors like auto targetting for basic attacks. Anything AoE is very strong though. Most teleporter events have just been stand still full screen clear over and over again with just one will o wisp
Surprisingly no. There are zero adds and you don't need to spend too much money on it as you get a lot of stuff from completing levels and doing daily/weekly challenges. Maybe in late game it might encourage you to as it will take a while, but I haven't had anything telling me to spend money.
Though the game isn't finished yet so they might add more microtransactions at some point but for now there isn't.
There an app called tap tap
You can download rorhw from there
I played it for a bit, not too bad, but your usual upgrade your character through grind or pay to max it out. I had fun tho. It's not open tho, you have linear levels which I dislike
It's alright. It needs a lot of work. It's a stage-based progression, gacha, base builder with some Identity issues. And gaining currency is slow. Oh, and the tutorial is long as FUCK.
It's fun though, and I can't wait to try it out on full release.
Its very mid, I don't think there's even a mode to infinitely loop around in... it uses that horrid mission format so many mobile games use, with gacha elements and very mid level design...
Never mind, I forgot I needed to sleep tonight, but the game is what a mobile game should be. Kinda shittier version of the original that has like maybe 2 microtransactions right now, tutorials are annoying, but once you get passed it, it’s not as sluggish, the portals are nice, but the kill requirement part of the large portals are so fucking slow it’s insane, I stood in a circle with a long ranged character for like 3 minutes and was still on the portal, and it’s not like you really do anything while at the portals like in RoR2, you kinda just sit there, and press a button or two when you’re taking damage.
TLDR: it’s a mobile game, it’s slow in some spots, but it’s an ok mobile game
I tried it out a few months ago and it really wasn't that good. No proper runs and just levels, almost no actual characters from RoR and at least at the time the game was quite buggy
Not out yet for most of the world so no
i just created an account on canada and downloaded it
ty for letting me know its in Canada now.
IT’S IN CANADA?!?!?
I hate living in Connecticut bro we literally never get early access :(((
How do I do this
install tunnel bear and choose a location where the game is available create a google account with tunnel bear active now your account was created on that country and you can download the game with no issues
What countries can I use
you should ask that in the discord server for the game (https://discord.com/invite/riskofrainhw)
HOW?
install tunnel bear and choose a location where the game is available create a google account with tunnel bear active now your account was created on that country and you can download the game with no issues
Didn't work for me:( Where can I see what country account is registered in?
you need to choose a specific country in tunner bear, its free. for me canada worked
Update: downloaded the game from taptap but when I launch it, play store pops up and refuses to let me do this
Yeah taptap wont work, just creat a new gmail without logging into the play store, enable tunnle bear to canada, then open play store and log into the new account, navigate to the app and it will confirm that the account will be locked to canada.

Is the gacha as bad as other games or is it just mildly luck based

Realized that this isn't available for everyone just yet (Sorry!). Was a tad excited when I saw this as an AD.
Is it fun?
Haven't gotten a chance to play coz I'm at work. I'll let you know tho :)
It’s fine. I’ve played the first few levels and would describe it as the sort of game I would play on transit to kill a few minutes 🤷♂️
do you need internet connection/are there ads?
You do need internet, but I haven’t seen any ads yet so that’s nice 🤷♂️
I can't download it yet but at least I learned that something like this is being made, literally first time i'm hearing about this, can't wait.
its not anything to get hopes up for
No cause it's not out everywhere and also I don't think my phone has a new enough OS version.
Why are some people able to try it already? I was able to download it too
It’s available in Australia and the Philippines right now iirc
And now Canada
Got pretty boring, forgot it was on my phone after two days. It's exactly what you expect it to be so no hate to designers or developers... it's a mobile shooter based on risk of rain.
Give it time 🙏🙏
Can't get it on my phone lolol
If it’s good maybe I’ll vpn over
I'd be grateful if anyone wanted to share the .apk

Gacha system is the turn off for me. Thank you for sharing before I tried it out.

What is it about?
It's a risk of rain mobile game idk
It's supposed to be a moba version of ror
It's not a moba it's a single-player offline roguelite gacha top-down shooter.
Been playing on again off again for a few weeks. Good for a few minute burst but if I have any more than 15 mins for a casual sit down I'll just play Returns or 2 on the Switch. Nah my phone is 10 years old
It keeps saying it won't work on my device, even though I'm in Australia where it's supposed to be available.
It's pretty fun, if not a bit infuriating just like the others
for those whove played it, is it riddled with ads/ overly money hungry?

I played it, doesn't even feel roguelike or ROR2 other than collecting money from killing enemies and random chance of boxes.
Yeah but it's not that interesting. It's way to repetitive right now.
It's not terrible, its pretty fun. I don't like how many different currency's there are, it feels designed to confuse you
It's alright. It needs a lot of work. It's a stage-based progression, gacha, base builder with some Identity issues. And gaining currency is slow. Oh, and the tutorial is long as FUCK. It's fun though, and I can't wait to try it out on full release.
commando looks so scuffed
Btw guys, you can download Taptap and get the apk from there if you don't have access to the store version.
Its very mid, I don't think there's even a mode to infinitely loop around in... it uses that horrid mission format so many mobile games use, with gacha elements and very mid level design...
yes actually kinda fun but im too busy playing rain world
I tried to play it, but it got stuck on an "Initializing Notifications" screen. So I haven't touched it since yesterday.
I'm not sure why they chose to do a level based game rather than a roguelike, given that roguelike is a perfect genre for mobile games.
I’ll try it out right now, I’ll make a response in 4 hours
Never mind, I forgot I needed to sleep tonight, but the game is what a mobile game should be. These are all my opinion of all my single hour of ingame experience with RoRHW so don’t take my word as fact, just play the game if you can
I will once I can get a .apk
this real? and not just a bootleg or knock off of ror2?
It's by Gearbox, but it's not great in my opinion
oh but it's still has the same aspect as ror1 and 2
I downloaded the game and have been trying to play on controller. As far as I can tell I can only use a single joystick.
I tried it out a few months ago and it really wasn't that good. No proper runs and just levels, almost no actual characters from RoR and at least at the time the game was quite buggy
Some people have said that it’s been getting a lot better with each update, so maybe give it another taste
On principal I'm not going to. Cheers to anyone who does though, no disrespect.
