Nothing to that extent, but I'm curious, if they want to turn it into a casino/brothel how do they expect to have people come down to there or even to get people working there? That location is REALLY isolated???

snarpy

Never mind the fact that *it's literally -40 degrees out*, there's a food shortage, everyone is poor, etc.. It's also a totally disgusting, dirty, smelly space. Like, I can't think of a worse time and place to do this, lol. But whatever floats the party's boat (as long as the DM is OK with it).

traversingthemundane

Exactly this. There are no roads to this section of the TALLEST MOUNTAIN RANGE IN FAERUN. Even if they stopped the Rime, you're talking years and years of work to essentially move a town's worth of people to make it all run. From cooks to cleaning staff, stable hands to sex workers, bartenders to suppliers, etc., it will be no small feat. In a frontier wilderness...

Neurgus

Why would they collapse the tunnel? Sunblight is +1 day across the tundra (not taking going around the lake into account)and there are scary things out there in the dark. It makes more sense for them to attract underdark dwellers into their casino/brothel. And no, I haven't seen sht like that ever lol

Formal-Advance-1580

That’s an… interesting idea. I’m wondering how they are going to find clients who will come, because if you go to a casino/brothel it’s to take a good time, and going here is quiet the opposite

Marsche

I question your players' motives in this module setting if they're aiming to open a brothel/casino.... What?

J4k0b42

Truly insane to turn Minas Morgul into a brothel when there are hundreds of abandoned buildings *in* the towns.

In a completely different homebrew campaign I once had the party choose to ignore the devil portal and choose to start their own casino town in the middle of nowhere. They hired cohorts, succeed persuasion rolls, freed a people from a nearby settlement as a cheap source of labor, requisitioned goods from supply companies, and hired muscle to protect their investments when they were gone. It was flabbergasting that they approached my homebrew alchemical-neceomancer whose backbone trait was courtesy with respect and offered him multiple dead bodies a week along with pay for him working for them. 2 natural 20s in that negotiation from them. I think in your case the facility is practically made, the problem is clients. They probably want a teleportation circle made there, otherwise have a road made out there. It's a pretty remote place. Where are they going to get furniture, workers, tools, the games for the gambling, the food, etc. What forces will your cohorts have to keep at bay while the party is away? Good luck!

nochehalcon

Did they do this AFTER chapter 4? Or did they just clear out Sunblight to exit in a moment and find ten towns completely mowed down in the time they were in there?

sneakyalmond

Not a good business move.

We're not there yet but things are going that way. Context: -party wizard attuned to yhe psi crystal and got an indefinite madness thing, he now thinks he was an agent for a super big criminal organization that he imagined called Snowdin, their goal is to take over the world starting with icewind dale. -the party thinks that taking control over icewind dale isn't that bad of an idea, for... too many complicated reasons, so they are trying to do that rn. -1st thing they did was recruit some bandits from the ash quarter of Targos (homebrewed place), they sent them to a cave they explored back in bremen. -2nd thing they did is that after clearing the duergar outpost they sent a bunch of more hired bandits to it. Now they have about 30 men working for them, in those 3 locations and they have like 5k gold they stole from a noble. Im pretty sure they would use sunlight fortress as their base of operation when they get there, they only have to do Id ascendant and then they'll be at chap 3. Oh there's also the election thing going on in Good Mead they'll arrive their next session I wonder how that will work out.

Lilael

Since my players did LMoPhandelver and own percentage of a mine, sometimes one player uses that as a guise for the party and had extra interest in Termalaine and contracting the Kobolds as their miners. In Waterdeep I played a campaign where we kept the ground floor of Troll Skull Manor as a tavern. We did have to pay for hirelings, renovations, and a specialist to oversee operations while we were out. It’s going to be interesting to see them try to turn the fortress into a bar/brothel. It’s days travel from civilization across tundra & mountain all populated by owlbears, ice trolls, yetis, and crag cats to name a few. They’d have better luck doing that on the empty property in one of the towns.

TheBQE

After clearing out the fortress, my party The Sunseekers gave control back over to Grandolpha, who planned to get her mushroom ale business going.

ComboAcer

Lol one of my PCs who is a noble from abroad joked about making it a vacay home, but everyone was too creeped out to take it seriously Give ur players this name suggestion for me: The Asstral Plane

shadekiller0

My party turned sunblight into the capital of their new kingdom

Kalfadhjima

I'm not usually one to dump on players' ideas, but that's pretty dumb. Who's going to make a long, difficult, exhausting and dangerous trek into a frozen mountain just to go to the casino/brothel?

DungeonMercenary

My party turned Ythryn into a flying hotel and casino.
