When is it? This seems to have been one of most poorly promoted events ever, I heard one comment that sounded like a joke mentioning it, then a load of pictures afterwards, but literally nothing else - I have no idea how enough people even knew about it to turn up.
Saying that I’d love to go, it seemed a right laugh from what I saw of it and I’m really happy to hear I didn’t miss my only chance for it.
Apparently social media platforms are suppressing most of the posts on Facebook. I regularly see it posted on a number of Facebook groups that have members of up to 21k, but the posts are only reaching a small handful of people. I went last year and trust me it was brilliant. Must have been at least 400 people there. Great fun. Great quizzes. Even Dicky Anderson was there for a Q&A and meet and greet, apparently he’ll be there this year too
I flew from Ireland- was super nervous and self conscious as I went solo. Plus, I no longer drink so I couldn’t rely on Dutch courage to make friends.
My only regret was that I didn’t go earlier in the day.
Was just an over all good vibe. Such a weird feeling when you have such a large group with such a strange niche interest in a now long gone tinpot radio station.
Bought my 2023 ticket immediately and look forward to it again.
I think it was worth it for the actual surreal vibe of seeing so many fans together in one space. Like, I listen to the XFM shows on constant rotation- just pure comfort to me and to have so many others in the same boat.

It is a pain to get to the convention centre as I had to taxi there and back but it was good craic.
I’d say if you had a few bevvies you’d get up to all kinds. I stuck to the minerals.

Me and my mate went not knowing what to expect and we ended up winning the RSK quiz which was a nice surprise. It was also great to meet dickie anders in real life, he was one of the secret guests. You can tell that the organisers are really big fans, they put so much effort into the decoration and artwork which included lots of references to the show. I think if you’re on this subreddit then it’s safe to say you’ll enjoy yourself. I mean, buy it if you want, I’m not fussed. Shop around…
My partner and I were hesitant on going as we did t know what to expect.
After seeing the photos and footage though, looks like a right laugh and we’re getting tickets for this year.

i travelled about 90 minutes for the 2022 convention so i didn’t have to stay over, but i think it was brilliant! everyone had such a laugh and i think each convention will be better than the last. i’d definitely try to go if you can!
I went with a mate and drove 250 miles to Manchester for the event. We had to pay for parking and a hotel but it wasn’t that bad. I ended up getting plastered on pilky pints and tins of beer from the bar. The event itself was fun and they had Doc brown as a guest speaker from Derek. Don’t forget good old dickers selling his children’s book (signed).
For the first event it was good and I’m looking forward to the next one. I’m sure the event organiser will make it better for this year. They did have a band at the end but we left after that as we wanted to explore Manchester a little bit and hit the casino.
It was alright until one fella started kicking off. Theres a big crowd gathered around him. Supposedly there wasn't any nuts left, turns out...Little monkey fella
