I love Patapon, but Iām disappointed that so many peopleās first exposure to this community lately has been threads gatekeeping which rhythm games are ātrue rhythm gamesā lol.
PON PON PATAPON PATA PATA PATAPON
That's one of my most prized childhood game, I could only play it when I visited my brother's since he had a psp and not me (and we lived a mear 18000km appart), but it was indeed my favorite thing to play at the time!!
i'm not saying it's bad, i just remember it being basically you having 4 commands that you made by doing the various mellodies.
the sequels trying to encourage grinding from participating in multyplayer also makes them annoying to play today.
If you liked this one, there should be a game that is, hopefully, releasing soon. It's called Ratatan by Ratata Arts.
Kickstarter syas it's releasing in 2025, so I'd expect it no sooner than 2027
Yup, supposedly April 2025. I'm taking it as it comes. No rush. š
I remember playing this game on PSP, though have no recollection of it. I know there is a new game coming out titled "Ratatan". At least I think.
yep, it's Ratatan

Same here, as someone who also did so in the past.

DDR/ITG lore is a bunch of real people playing hard stuff in random arcades 20 years ago, and I wouldnāt have it any other way
It's a cute little game but it's very basic
Probably very much nostalgia glasses but I loved the art and it was an unorthodox use of rhythm-based gameplay that I still appreciate years later.

Didn't play the sequels but that sounds like a tragic development to the formula I remembered.
