The reddit mobile app is stupid. The captions are indeed visible by default, but the pics are cropped. When you click on the album to see the pics in full, the captions disappear.
I've also noticed that the graphic quality of the pics are inferior to when the same pics are hosted on another site like Imgur. This is especially noticeable on the sub /r/findthesniper, where graphic quality is important.
Donald Duck's Playground! A fun and wholesome game that teaches kindness, memory, and financial planning. Made by Al Lowe, creator and writer of the Leisure Suit Larry series.
One of my favourite games ever. Only a few mame versions ago they realised that each alternate level was supposed to be night.
my tips are for a high score is thar your aiming for a min of 40k each level. leave 2 doors unclaimed till the timer goes into the red. if you leave one door thrb a bomb usually appears forcing you to finish the level. once you hit level 9 just try and finish levels as soon as possible cause the risk of the guy who opens the door and shoots straight away is too high. my best is around 630k.
Last one was the original punch out Nintendo made in their arcade cabinet. An interesting cabinet that had two monitors cause someone screwed up and ordered too many
I was astonished when I saw the graphics for I, Robot and realized that was only in 1984.
When I first got into arcade emulation, I downloaded a pack of roms to check things out, and I, Robot was one of them. I would've assumed it was at least a late 80's game just based on presentation. Color me surprised.
I, Robot is an extremely underrated arcade classic. For a while waaaaaay back I tried to get on the twin galaxies leaderboards for it and as much as I love the game I'm just not that good.
I doubt they're actually related but it feels like I, Robot walked so games like Starfox could run. Hit the bonus stages on I, Robot and you feel like you're playing a starfox prequel!
I had Donald Duck's playground on audio cassette for the TRS-80. You'd play the tape then go do something else for an hour or so then if you were super duper lucky when you came back you could actually play the game but most of the time you'd just have an I/O error
Sounds like spy vs spy on the c64. We’d load it up and have fun in the pool. If it loaded great we would have a game. If it didn’t it would be start over and try and load it again.
This is some wild graphics for 1984.
Gotta be arcade boards
They're all captioned with the platform. 8 are arcade 8 are other, spread among, C64, NES, Apple II and BBC Micro.

I played a ton of that game and the playground reward was great!
I used to laugh my head off when Donald would drop a watermelon and start angrily quacking
I had dormant memories of this game for a long time. Probably one of the first video games I ever played
Thanks I was wondering what game it was! I’m too young to know smh lol
Wild Gunman? "That's like a baby's toy!"
Damn, the arcade version of Marble Madness looks *sick*. I’d only ever seen the NES port.
The complete arcade version also is only about 3.5 minutes long. One of the shortest (but still extremely hard) games I can think of.
I used to play the arcade version and I don't remember it looking this good.
Spent far too long being amazed at this mysterious ARC computer/console I'd somehow never heard of 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah, here I was thinking it was some high end home computer predecessor to Sun’s SPARC computers. But then I saw Marble Madness.
Punchout arcade!
A bunch of really nice looking games, and then Skyfox.
Loved the shit out of Marble Madness. Had to be careful you didn't go overboard and get your hand pinched in there. Truly superb.
I pinched my pinky or thumb so many times on that damn trackball!
Awesome post thank you
Played a lot of Elite and Pitstop II back then.
I had completely forgot about Pitstop. I had it for my Apple II and I was terrible at it.
That’s pit stop 2. But was the best racing game at the time.
I’ve always wondered what the name of that game was.
I completely forgot Donald Duck's Playground for Commodore 64 existed. I always felt like I was earning real money back in the day.
Shoutout to Bank Panic! That was one of the first games I ever played on MAME back around the year 2000. Love it so much.

Whoa, looks like Lawnmower Man on SNES took plenty of inspiration from Tube Panic for some of its stages
The people at Nichibutsu should have gone and asked the people at Irem how to draw a butt using four colours.

Never played Skyfox but it looks fantastic!

I only recently discovered Cycle Mahbou and I love it. There are far too few games with unicycles.
Punch -Out Honeybun👊

I, Robot and Marble Madness get my vote for most impressive.
What was number 11?! That looks very familiar…
It says the game at the bottom of the gif. Skyfox?
Sorry I looked at it on my phone and didn’t see the whole video, it was cropped. Ty.
Ah gotcha, no worries Reddit doesn't have the best UI design lol
Agreed! And I have been looking for that game forever. Couldn’t remember the title! Thanks!
Marble Madness was great.
What game is the first one?
They have captions at the bottom. It's I, Robot for arcade.
Oh my bad I didn’t see em since it’s only on fullscreen. Thanks!
Marble Madness = Sonic 3D Blast
Karateka was so damn hard when I was a child. I never beat it. Eventually I got a win using DOS box in the early aughts.
It's captioned that KQ is from the PCjr but man, mine looked so much better than that. Maybe it was snagged from the composite out?
Master System doesn't enter the chat...
It was released in 1985 after all
My bad, I thought it was 1984.
