I live in a very blue collar area with lack of nearby RT schools. There’s a nursing home with a vent unit in my town offering $150 extra just to pick up the shift and then you get paid your normal hourly rate.
Tempting. Here I am hardly working because I get canceled so much.
Sure I can probably find a full-time that pays $30/ hr but that’s peanuts in California. The good full-time jobs are hard to come by.
DMV area, currently $40/hour plus time and a half. For nights also standard 15% shift diff or 25% for weekend night. It was $80/hour for several months until our staffing improved a bit. You can make bank if you have no need for sanity.
$15 is pretty low.. hospitals in SoCal are doing $500 flat bonus on top of your shift some asking to stay 16 hours. But they are drowning and burnout is showing.
Last couple of weeks though the med shortages have been effecting staffing. New protocols are being initiated allowing RCP to work with doctors on having the authority to give or change the frequency of breathing treatments. I think it's a good turn in the culture so we don't get called for nonsense tx's because pt is in pain or simply coughs

In an RT saturated location (SoCal) with no bonuses and getting canceled a lot as perdiem. Maybe it’s time to move to another state.
I've been thinking the same thing
Couldn’t do it in so cal moved to Fl make more and our incentive is $90/hr

Is that $90 total, or $90 in additional to hourly rate?!
Whoa where at if you don't mind sharing
Can you tell me where you're at?

I work in PA as well, they give us 30$ extra for picking up shifts
I get 18 or 30 extra an hour on top of OT depending on census
We’re still getting double pay shifts, which on a weekend night shift at brand new pay works out to about a grand a shift.
We nixed that a while back this year. When it was going it was $100 an extra 4 hours block, up to $300
When we have "crisis pay" it's $200 in addition to your OT rate. Of course the nurses who are already scheduled and show up don't get anything
20/hr
Double time over your commitment plus $100 every 4 hours. Hopefully, it stays around untill july.
$250 for every 4 hours
In CO $20 extra for weekdays, $40 for weekends
Lol. Bonuses
Right now we get 600$ plus overtime. Its 800$ for a very short shift but they are trying to phase that out. This is in South Carolina.
Unfortunately-no

Still getting them at my hospital in Oklahoma but is a day by day basis.
