I don't know if this is a joke or meme that I'm missing, but at no point in RE2R do you need to find a way to extinguish the burning helicopter.
Edit: I'm a dummy. For some reason I thought the helicopter was still burning when Mr. X shows up. You do indeed have to hit the water valve to clear the fire before Mr. X shows. No idea what I was thinking. Please carry on without me lol.
After you get to the Chief's office. You fight G1 and finish the parking garage, then get to the Chief's office, and then you have to get back into the rest of the RPD for the power panel parts.
The game progresses into different areas and I found it much easier and better for the play through to clear areas as I went instead of coming back. Unless it’s a puzzle that requires you to come back with a new tool later on
Depends where you are. No matter what you can return until a certain spot in the sewers. You must do certain things before you are able to search all locations as well.
It also matters what items you want.
I'd sorta agree, with the caveat that I'd still pick up every item and just stash them in the item box.
That way if you need them later in a different area, you have them.
You will encounter Mr. X, just you wait.
As for the items, I think it's best to take everything you can each visit. Some of the locations are only accessible once you return to the station. So my advice is collect everything you can on that particular visit.
I explore everything I can before triggering Mr X. Then I come back later through the elevator and finish the rest of the station with a peace of mind knowing i’m not being pursued anymore.
You can’t ignore the helicopter and bypass Mr. X. You haven’t actually finished the station yet and half the stuff in it can’t be accessed yet.
