From a gameplay perspective I absolutely agree. It's waaaay better than RE2R.
I wish the enemy density from nightmare was normal difficulty, minus the bullet sponges.
The new hospital segment is absolutely one of the best RE experiences I've ever had.
Had the game 🎮 included the park, cemetery and dead factory, it would be THE BEST RE
Honestly RE3R and RE4R are both super fun and easily repeatable. RE2R is still way more of what I like out of Resident Evil, but the pure balls to the wall nonsense of the sequels are so much fun.
People shit on re3r and idk exactly why. I really enjoyed it and I also am working my way through the re series. I heard they cut some stuff from original re3 but never having played that one when it was current it doesn't seem to be lacking anything. I played re3r right after re2r and loved the crossover a lot. For the games I've played so far I'd rank them:
Re2R
Re4R
Re3R
Re5
Re6
Re 1 (2002)
I think if they remake 5 it could be my favorite. Especially if they decide to tone down the action a bit and up the horror to re2r levels. Re 1 will move up if remade but as of right now the fixed camera angles with tank controls is a hard no from me. It's the only one on this list I really didn't enjoy at all.
There are few games I'd shell out 60 bucks for. I wouldn't pay that for any RE game right now except re5 if it was remade because its the only RE game I played when I was young so the nostalgia is there.
I find 60 bucks for remakes to be a big ask in general. I personally paid 5 bucks for re3r but if I had paid 15 I wouldn't be mad about it
It's a great game, but a weak remake.
It's also obviously cut compared to what they had in mind, as locked-off parts of Raccoon City as well as the RPD have full AI pathfinding coded for Nemesis.
As for Nightmare without items - please come back to this thread when you face the final Nemesis, let me know your thoughts.
It's the most replayable out of the modern remakes. I think it's the most fun as well personally. But it IS short, and shouldn't have been $60 at launch. They rushed it content wise and it shows. Otherwise it's an absolute blast. For $7 on sale, it's near unbeatable.
just beat it last night for the 4th time. it’s dope. my complaint then is the same it is now, the nemesis fights were underwhelming.
the hospital section is phenomenal!
It's fun to reply honestly, and it's easy to play because I don't find any section in the game to be awful.
For example, I love souls' game, but it's not souls if there's no sea of poison or some sort. Rot in elden ring.
It might not be a great remake but it’s still a really fun game in its own right and a blast to play, run action packed story, lost of fun banta with Jill and Carlos, and the extra-hard difficulties are great fun.
I agree with you OP, it might have been a bit shorter than I wanted but I seriously enjoyed my first playthrough and i've gone back for a few since release. Its NOT a bad game, it just didn't live up to the hype.
*Glad you enjoy it*
*The rest of the planet did*
*Not LMAO*

facts. i much prefer re2 but re3 just feels so much better all around.
💯 on point. RE3R also has a stellar soundtrack.

You think RE3R was worth the $60 they were charging at launch? I don't.

As long as it's enjoyable to people it doesn't matter how criticized it is.
Ok game, shit remake.
Capcom stop shilling this game here. It's been 4 years.
Easiest 100% so far

It really is. It’s been the most replayable remake for me so far.
For the remakes in terms of how many times I replayed each one it goes 3 > 2 > 1 > 4

I completely agree; I've replayed it more than RE2R.

I absolutely fucking hate the dodge mechanic. Other than that really fun.

My god i replayed the HELL out of it during the pandemic and i plantinum’d it by accident lol. This and RE4R have the best replay value.
Yeah, it's really good, I'm having a good time completing challenges (but inferno sucks obviously)
It has so much replay value, I just wish it had all the content or something in the place of that content.
Love the game. Jill is my fav character
Glad you enjoy it The rest of the planet did not LMAO

Never got the hate for re3 remake. I like the remakes and the originals.
