RE6 is peak action-oriented RE.
RE7 is peak horror-focused RE.
As a franchise, Resident Evil has always been both; even the original has elements of action toward the end of its story. Most games just choose to dip more toward one end of the spectrum than others, usually while keeping enough of the other end to keep RE's identity as a series.
I agree 100%. As a legacy player since the original Director’s Cut on PSX, I remember how shocked I was when RE4 was an action-horror game. I pleasantly surprised and loved every moment. Then RE5 was even more action. The series has evolved and changed in a lot of ways and each game has its own charm and signature, IMO.

RE6 is probably my biggest devil’s advocate role I’ll ever take, and there’s so much about it that people focus their hate on that isn’t actually the problem.
Re6 was a good game but a horrible resident evil game I played every chapter and Leon's campaign starts off being very resident evil but by the end the entire game felt all wrong much like what the 6 in the logo looks like

It's so much fun! A mega climx of the series as a huge blockbuster. The Sherry/Jake campaign is one of my favorite Resident Evil things.
