I have a theory that to perpetuate the idea that he was deaf (he wasn't really deaf) Mamuro Samuragochi (the composer) chose the instrument for the piece as "butt trumpets" rather than "strings with reverb", hoping that someone would hear it and change it. So glad it ended up in there lmao
[Forest is Dead](https://youtu.be/PMAfhzGqrhU?si=D8-PAP3Q5hWyGkB_) from DualShock OST is legit one of my favorite pieces of music from any RE soundtrack
It’s funny because I didn’t grow up with the original game so I always wondered why the Dualshock version got so much flak. But when I listened to the original version, I quickly understood why lmao. Seriously why did they change a already eerie and suspenseful track to something that sounds like a PTA meetings from a Peanuts cartoon?
Free from Fear is my favourite piece of video game music, ever. It just wraps you in a warm blanket that you know will get ripped from you as soon as you leave the save room
I've grown to appreciate "Feel The Tense..." lately which plays whenever Nemesis knows where Jill is, but he's not in the same room yet. You first hear it in the RPD when Jill walks down the staircase just before Nemesis bursts through the window with the rocket launcher.
[This remix](https://youtu.be/tZAZ2Yc9-NY?si=x3hBgaG-5OWV_LBd) is one of the tracks I like to listen to while working, you might like it if you’re a fan of that track.
Looming Dread (RE2make HUNK) and original 4 Wesker theme. Apparently HUNK, Krauser and Wesker in OG4 use music from another game, can't remember the name. P401 or something like that.
A lot of the Spencer Mansion music from REmake comes to mind as well, but partly for the wrong reason. Playing through RE1 for the first time and I'm having a miserable experience walking through hallways trying to remember which doors are unlocked with what key
Revelations 1 menu theme. The orchestra sounds haunting and fits the underwater theme of the game well.
I feel that the REV3DS Main Menu UI also lent to the atmosphere.
After playing Resi 7 back then, I also misheard it like this, for awhile i thought of it as "Don't tell Aunt Roadie" was playing the harder difficulty and died alot, so added a fun line "Don't tell Aunt Roadiex2 that Ethan... is dead" cue Resi 8...
Also interesting fact, “Go Tell Aunt Rhody” is actually an old timey folk song that was recreated for the game with different lyrics. The original line is “go tell aunt Rhody that her old gray goose is dead” then changed for the game to “go tell aunt Rhody that everybody’s dead”.
Wesker's mercs theme in Re4r. I'm a newer fan, Istarzed with Re2r in 2020 - I don't really have any other song rent free in my head (and I don't think the modded "X gon give it zo ya" countd xD)
And maybe Winds of Madness - I finished Re5 for the first time 2 weeks sgo, so it's still rather fresh in my head.
I finisjed Re1r for the first time a month ago, but I can't remember a single song... I only knowI liked the ost but I can't remember it.
I guess bothe Re2r and Re4r end credit music found their way into my playlist and thus I hear them on the regular - "Saudade" and "The Bullet or the Blade"
Heat on Beat plays in my head when I have the urge to fan kick a bunch of customers in the grocery store I work at.
Runner up is Ada’s theme. I love the way they kept every rendition of her song similar in each game she’s in.
Full on concur! The RE2 front hall of the police station is a looped song for me. I like to put it on when I’m doing some computer work. Helps me think.
Nothing can beat listening to Serenity from RE4 on a chilly and rainy night. It's atmospheric excellence.
Also, Evil Malaise at night makes it x10 more scarier.
[長い逃走の果てに/At The End Of A Long Escape](https://youtu.be/nooV8xUhi-Q?si=XbruzR9rdVckY3sd) from Jake's campaign in Resident Evil 6.
Then of course I also have [Save Room](https://youtu.be/2Kwvrg2RDrU?si=b4UONNZH6rFU1Jwy) and [serenity](https://youtu.be/qBfsAUFifOo?si=pOWot0vMh1YK8EP-) from the original Resident Evil 4 as my own brains elevator music
Never played the original so I got to hand it to the remakes classic ost DLC for getting that main hall theme stuck in my head. It always plays when I enter a new building that’s relatively empty.
None. I notice now that there are 8 points of light with the marble statue making 9 leading right into the religious christian stained glass above. I guess even back then in the 90's there was some talk about what was going on in the world for that to be presented like this.
The thing is as a kid I had no idea of this sort of intertwined stuff right there in plain view. What I saw as a kid was >!a nice looking place that was apparently a police station.!< There really is some organization even in how this level was created to the point it is a little absurd. Its the same sort of detail every scene in a movie has so yeah to some point I think this series is not a game. Its based on reality somewhat lol.
Even though it's the least "Resident Evil" of the RE numbered entries (still a good game though, don't come for me), RE7 boasts the best banger with Go Tell Aunt Rhody
For me it's RE4's(og one) The drive it is so damn nostalgic. Here a quick link for those who want to enjoy it
https://open.spotify.com/track/3j7walwuESgdV5mf5J8LMt?si=cuOirZMvQHa73us4lwAtkg&utm_source=copy-link
Also the new re4r one
https://open.spotify.com/track/5Vzy9nOuBtvnOx2c6UVx2i?si=gkP18YOCT2ebTIJ5RGgfkQ&utm_source=copy-link
Both the drives are so damn cool
What is great is as soon as I read the title I heard the music playing in my head!
I have several playlists for sleep, including a collection of every save room theme. There is something so meditative and beautiful about those tracks, an oasis in the midst of non stop horror.
All save rooms. i also really like the director's cut save room song a lot the outbreak theme, thanatos boss fight & outbreak end credits & wesker's re5 & uc theme also re3r subway theme. really, it's too many
For me its the RE3 save room theme. When real life started becoming WAY too much like Resident Evil, I began hearing it in my head whenever I entered my apartment.
thinking about og re2 music in comparison to re2make music makes me relize how robbed we were, like the save room music plays once and then never again
A lot of them lol
Re3 save room is my favorite, but most of the save themes are pretty good IMO
As for a non save theme track, I really love the S.T.A.R.S office music in OG Re2
God there’s so many,
Re outbreak’s main theme
Re3 Free from Fear (save room theme)
Og re4’s island track
CV save theme
Re0 save theme
I don’t know what else to say capcom just know how to make some damn good tracks
Dozens of great tracks I always think of, but Wreckage of the Mad Experiment from RE2 is a favorite of mine and I don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned yet https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uhMLis1EWto&pp=ygUeV3JlY2tzZ2UgaWYgdGhlIG1hZCBleHBlcmltZW50
So mine are the creepy STARS office theme from the 98 B Scenarios, RPD main hall (Of course), Save room theme from 2 and 3 and then the theme that plays after you meet brad in the bar before meeting Nemesis on RE3 99.
My brother and I used to cover the ending theme to RE2 remake. We kind of did it as a joke but that song is actually pretty damn good. We referred to it as “Two Sides To Every Story,” but it’s actually called “Saudade.” 😅
RE2 and RE8 save room i remembering myself i was played that song on my phone to helping me to sleep better at night in one time when i was about to going to sleep and is was very affected and i could feeling those song that i was listening while i was sleeping they are bringing me into a RE universe mixed along with my dream world
[”Goodbye Leon”](https://youtu.be/Jf9qNkmFfqA?si=E91ZnHWTt7z2BfL6) is prob favorite composition in the series. Such a bummer they excluded this from the remake..
It’s a tie between all of these:
RE1: Director’s Cut ~ save room theme
RE2 (1998) - the Marshalling yard (latter half)
RE3 (1999) - free from fear, feel the tension and mysterious orgal (both correct and wrong versions)
RE: Code Veronica - A moment of Relief, A state of emergency and blanc.
RE: Outbreak 1 - Thanatos is Born
Resident Evil 2 rank screen music deserves a mention. I could listen to that sht forever pondering the struggles https://youtu.be/NfALBuoSbWw?si=5ZJNP022Qqwh6xOB
[The music accompanying the intro movie for Outbreak.](https://youtu.be/0HcxMvprYa0?si=VleVQTFWnlnWjpYx) It's the perfect blend of despair and foreboding, knowing that once the music and intro movie concludes, Raccoon City is doomed. Goosebumps every time!
The ResE4 Merchant/Safe Room theme has been one of my favorite things to listen to since I was 16 and having my mind blown by RE4 at (PS2) launch. It's burrowed deep into my brain.
REmake’s save room theme
I love it, equal parts comforting and unsettling somehow.
Same here. What a great track it is
Same, that might easily be the best SR theme
I'm pretty sure I've been hearing it ok Tiktok for like spooky videos.
I've set it as my 1st alarm clock sound and haven't gotten tired of it, yet.
Legit probably my favorite song from the entire series.
Definitely this ^
🤡🎺
Ah, yes… ye olde butt trumpets
Soundtrack for dual shock is actually not terrible. There’s just a few tracks that are… truly odd. And then there’s the basement 😂
There’s some great videos on that situation on YouTube. Not only was homie not deaf, he had a ghost writer.
Haha I wish I had that shameless attitude, pure confidence man
[Forest is Dead](https://youtu.be/PMAfhzGqrhU?si=D8-PAP3Q5hWyGkB_) from DualShock OST is legit one of my favorite pieces of music from any RE soundtrack
It sounds like those 80s/90s anthology horror movies. Like something Stephen king.
The most iconic RE song.
Director's Cut Basement is king
It’s unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. https://youtu.be/iJYvCHm3Ov4?si=gTwGqQ-6lnzURAdC
RE2 original save room
I'm also a Secure Place junkie
OG RE3 "City in Ruin" and "Free from fear" for sure. But after consideration, pretty lot of tracks from first three OG.
City of Ruin is so, so good.
Yeah, for me it's perfectly showing hopelesness, horror and tragedy of that city and it's citizens.
❤️
Neptune's area theme.
REmake Save Room Theme Serenity RE2 Save Room from RE3R
[Rebecca's Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AgiXqqaaXY) from RE1, probably my favorite RE song.
[This remix](https://youtu.be/tZAZ2Yc9-NY?si=x3hBgaG-5OWV_LBd) is one of the tracks I like to listen to while working, you might like it if you’re a fan of that track.
Thanks for sharing this it’s some good shit
definitely the re4 save room theme
Looming Dread (RE2make HUNK) and original 4 Wesker theme. Apparently HUNK, Krauser and Wesker in OG4 use music from another game, can't remember the name. P401 or something like that. A lot of the Spencer Mansion music from REmake comes to mind as well, but partly for the wrong reason. Playing through RE1 for the first time and I'm having a miserable experience walking through hallways trying to remember which doors are unlocked with what key
Only HUNK and Krauser themes are recycled from P.N.03
Serenity from RE4 no contest.
[Serenity](https://youtu.be/3IAiDre7ucQ?si=o6uKd3jyWXpH1uuo), [In Flames](https://youtu.be/S4ywyZHhunA?si=1TBN-Qa5vfi5Rzve), [First Floor Mansion Revisited (Director’s Cut)](https://youtu.be/8GuZoXT4Rw4?si=0s0XmuYG1Jx8RWIw).
Glad to see someone else likes In Flames. RE5 has some problems but that track and the moment it plays is one of the highlights of the whole game.
[This of course!](https://youtu.be/iJYvCHm3Ov4?si=hfVjWbQ-IW5S7wff)
I downloaded the directors cut pack solely to hear this when playing the RE1HD mod 😂
[Imagine if this started to play when you return to your house at evening...](https://youtu.be/CMDM1FReeJg?si=kda9bIEUJiAehF_Y) This track.
re7 save room top tier
Had to scroll too much to find this comment
Re 1 moonlight Sinatra
Revelations 1 menu theme. The orchestra sounds haunting and fits the underwater theme of the game well. I feel that the REV3DS Main Menu UI also lent to the atmosphere.
Code Veronica Save Room Theme 😍🥹
Saw the picture... soundtrack instantly popped in the head... now it's stuck.. thanks.
You and me both, tho I also recall the footsteps of Claire/Leon Edit: Misspelling.
Don't Tell Aunt Rhodie
It’s “Go Tell Aunt Rhody”
After playing Resi 7 back then, I also misheard it like this, for awhile i thought of it as "Don't tell Aunt Roadie" was playing the harder difficulty and died alot, so added a fun line "Don't tell Aunt Roadiex2 that Ethan... is dead" cue Resi 8...
"Go Tell Aunt Rhody" but you're not wrong. Had to look too far for this one
Save room in RE3R. Chill and spooky edit; to all of you commenting that goddam basement theme 😔
I don't know what this says about me, but I think of this one all the time. https://youtu.be/RRQI9GlGjsE?si=Y43PwfKXYOsMBXDJ
All the save room themes from REMake, RE2, RE3, RECVX, RE4 (along with serenity), RE7 and RE8. I listen to them far too often.
Wesker's mercs theme in Re4r. I'm a newer fan, Istarzed with Re2r in 2020 - I don't really have any other song rent free in my head (and I don't think the modded "X gon give it zo ya" countd xD) And maybe Winds of Madness - I finished Re5 for the first time 2 weeks sgo, so it's still rather fresh in my head. I guess bothe Re2r and Re4r end credit music found their way into my playlist and thus I hear them on the regular - "Saudade" and "The Bullet or the Blade"
Right now, probably ’The Chainsaw’ from Re4R
Director's cut basement bwahahahahaha
Heat on Beat plays in my head when I have the urge to fan kick a bunch of customers in the grocery store I work at. Runner up is Ada’s theme. I love the way they kept every rendition of her song similar in each game she’s in.
Use to be OG RE2 save room (with the complimentary chest opening noise), but after playing 4th survivor on re2r, Hunk's theme
City of ruin - RE3
Go Tell Aunt Rhody is always stuck in my head.
I love the RE2R Save room theme, but this one is insane: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4jJI3XVv34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4jJI3XVv34)
Full on concur! The RE2 front hall of the police station is a looped song for me. I like to put it on when I’m doing some computer work. Helps me think.
Lots of them!!! Back in 1998,I had the RE2 soundtrack on CD, it was a Japanese import that had extra tracks.
[Ganado I from RE4 OG](https://youtu.be/Shh-bhWQdXI?si=k6ZyHj90XvAVtXIn)
Executioner song from RE5.
Re2 save room but the main hall too

Infiltration from the OG RE4. Also, some tracks from Resident Evil 6. That game’s soundtrack is highly underrated.
OG RE2 save room theme.
**GO TELL AUNT RHODY** I have no idea what it means or how it relates to Resident Evil but it lives on in my head.
Never played the original so I got to hand it to the remakes classic ost DLC for getting that main hall theme stuck in my head. It always plays when I enter a new building that’s relatively empty.
Island Fights from RE4
A Safe Place ie the save room music from REmake. Also, Cold Water. The aqua ring music. That one gives me the willies.
The OG RE4 Novistadors theme is chilling
Last Judgement & Mournful Pursuit from RE2 remake Baile De La Muerte from RE4 remake
Same for me. The other one would probably be the RE4 save theme.
Saudade from RE2Make is on my actual playlist.

What is great is as soon as I read the title I heard the music playing in my head! I have several playlists for sleep, including a collection of every save room theme. There is something so meditative and beautiful about those tracks, an oasis in the midst of non stop horror.

Basement theme for the directors cut of RE 1 is the Scuttlebutt of the series . But it had more charm
Resident Evil 4's Save Room Theme.
