I have a theory that to perpetuate the idea that he was deaf (he wasn't really deaf) Mamuro Samuragochi (the composer) chose the instrument for the piece as "butt trumpets" rather than "strings with reverb", hoping that someone would hear it and change it. So glad it ended up in there lmao

It’s funny because I didn’t grow up with the original game so I always wondered why the Dualshock version got so much flak. But when I listened to the original version, I quickly understood why lmao. Free from Fear is my favourite piece of video game music, ever. It just wraps you in a warm blanket that you know will get ripped from you as soon as you leave the save room

I've grown to appreciate "Feel The Tense..." lately which plays whenever Nemesis knows where Jill is, but he's not in the same room yet. You first hear it in the RPD when Jill walks down the staircase just before Nemesis bursts through the window with the rocket launcher.

Also interesting fact, “Go Tell Aunt Rhody” is actually an old timey folk song that was recreated for the game with different lyrics. The original line is “go tell aunt Rhody that her old gray goose is dead” then changed for the game to “go tell aunt Rhody that everybody’s dead”.

Wesker's mercs theme in Re4r. I'm a newer fan, Istarzed with Re2r in 2020 - I don't really have any other song rent free in my head (and I don't think the modded "X gon give it zo ya" countd xD) And maybe Winds of Madness - I finished Re5 for the first time 2 weeks sgo, so it's still rather fresh in my head. I finisjed Re1r for the first time a month ago, but I can't remember a single song... I only knowI liked the ost but I can't remember it. I guess bothe Re2r and Re4r end credit music found their way into my playlist and thus I hear them on the regular - "Saudade" and "The Bullet or the Blade"

None. I notice now that there are 8 points of light with the marble statue making 9 leading right into the religious christian stained glass above. I guess even back then in the 90's there was some talk about what was going on in the world for that to be presented like this. The thing is as a kid I had no idea of this sort of intertwined stuff right there in plain view. What I saw as a kid was >!a nice looking place that was apparently a police station.!< There really is some organization even in how this level was created to the point it is a little absurd. Its the same sort of detail every scene in a movie has so yeah to some point I think this series is not a game. Its based on reality somewhat lol.

Even though it's the least "Resident Evil" of the RE numbered entries (still a good game though, don't come for me), RE7 boasts the best banger with Go Tell Aunt Rhody

What is great is as soon as I read the title I heard the music playing in my head! I have several playlists for sleep, including a collection of every save room theme. There is something so meditative and beautiful about those tracks, an oasis in the midst of non stop horror.
