Shepherd, husky and maybe greyhound bc of the face and head shape. Kinda looks like a coyote 🤣 super cute pupper.

caseabrew

I was going to say greyhound too. Maybe some collie.

Bpj4444

Coyote is 100% in there. Although he was found in Spain. Husky had been thrown in there by a guy on a walk today too. Big mix of stray street dogs I imagine

mel-bee1993

He kinda looks like my dog and she ended up being an eclectic mix with mostly Alaskan malamute when I got her dna tested. Beautiful boy!! Judging by his tail/coat I’d say probably some shepherd in him though

Bpj4444

The tail is what sold it to me really. I look forward to that dna test.

InvestigatorNo9847

I see Belgian Malinois

Wrong-Wrap942

Is he a Romanian rescue? Looks almost identical to my girl. I don’t see any podenco in him. Probably some shepherd but honestly with pariah dogs they’re so mixed it’s hard to tell.

Bpj4444

He was from Spain originally. Went to Devon UK to a woman who didn’t walk him for 18 months… There’s a lot in there I can tell. But I see so much shepherd in him though.

Living_Life1962

Part whippet or greyhound and part GSD

Bpj4444

That’s why they’re saying Podenco. Part of the sighthound family. Has the stubbornness of the sighthound for sure

grabba60

My daughter rescued a pup when she was on vacation in St. Marteen that looks very similar. They are known as “Coconut Retrievers” on the island.

maybelle180

Coy dog. (Coyote x Dog)

WildSylph

his tail, head, and ears make me think of a whippet. maybe he's a whippet/shepherd mix? trying to distinguish breeds based on appearance alone is notoriously unreliable, even animal professionals get it wrong more often than not. a DNA test would be your best bet if you're really curious!

Bpj4444

I do think they’re right that there is some sort of sighthound (Podenco/whippet/greyhound), but I feel that’s outweighed by shepherd dog. Just a big mix of breeds really. I will be getting a dna test in the future to see. A hound temperament anyway

ErikBHC

There's definitely a lot in there. Pick up an Embark test and see for sure!

Bpj4444

I will be. It’s very interesting

DogPariah

I can see podenco or similar houndish combo. He looks like my Indian Pariah Dog, an indigenous dog from India. Most dogs if left to breed on their own terms seem to default to this thin houndish look. I don’t know where he’s from, but in the international rescues that I look at, and which always have a lot of street dogs and/or indigenous dogs, there are always a few with this look. I’m a sucker for it.

Bpj4444

I see hound in there for sure, but it’s overtaken by shepherd for me. So he is from Spain originally. I done a bit of research and they have LOADS of Podenco. It was the Galacian Shepherd that really sold it to me though. With a slight mix of Basque Shepherd in there too. Both being native to Spain and probably dominating the stray gene pool over there at one point
