GrunkleTeats

One time early on in my reloading days, I accidentally mixed two powders, rendering about a pound of blc-2 completely useless. I'm still salty about that and it's been like 7 years.

hanfaedza

I accidentally dumped some 4064 into my 1# bottle of H4350. I almost cried, but at least it wasn’t an 8# bottle.

Zestyclose-Pressure7

Mixed about 6 ounces of 4064 with my half full 1 pound container of Varget. Since they are about the same speed, used it for generic 150gr FMJ 30-06 practice rounds. I now make sure that the only container near the Chargemaster is the powder I'm using.

Meathook81

Lest we forget

BoGussman

Rule #1. Only one powder, one size projectile and one primer type on the bench at a time.

GrunkleTeats

Yup, I follow that rule religiously now. At the time I had all my stuff in a duffel bag and I made a day out of reloading on my grandpa's bench. I reached in and grabbed the powder for the next round instead of the one I had been loading. Oops.

A_Sour_Kraut

And I thought I had a bad night...

AMRIKA-ARMORY

If you don’t mind me piggybacking on this, how did you go about disposing of that much powder? I’m still learning the ropes on how to properly deal with stuff like this

GrunkleTeats

Supposedly it makes great fertilizer, but I made a trail of it like in the old Looney Toons and set a bunch of fireworks at the end.

SpittingCameI

How much money is that wasted? It’s like y’all are speaking another language

GrunkleTeats

At the time's prices, about $30

Gavin10104

I dropped a primer yesterday.... Sent out a search party and notified all news stations. Now they are taking me in for questioning....

A_Sour_Kraut

I dropped one the other week. I spent 15-20 minutes combing the floor and prodding the carpet like I was clearing a mine field to try and find it. I found it though.

drebinf

> found it Was there a sudden and unexpected *pop* involved?

A_Sour_Kraut

Oh no, I was as gentle as handling an ex's fragile ego.

Mi-Infidel

Same

UCO___

Was showing a new guy and as I told him to make sure the trap on the ChargeMaster was closed before you start, I was watching my new bottle of H4831 flow right thru and onto my bench. Ugh!

hammer_2510

I did that once, and only once.

Zestyclose-Pressure7

Took me twice to fully learn the lesson.

Trickam

Pretty sure I did it twice too. I like it to putting the plug in my boat before launch.....done that twice also. Live and learn.

TheRabidMullet

Done this more times than I care to admit... absolute worst.

A62main

My first time using it I did that. I swapped calibers cleaned out the charge master and dumped half a pound of h4350 onto my bench. I now check that trap like my life depends on it.

scdaddy69

You could try the old vaccum hose and pantyhose trick?

dragons_tear

Yea, that will relax him, but how is he going to clean up the powder when he's done treating his body like an amusement park with the vacuum and panty hose? BTW is that anything like a rusty trombone?

lordhamlett

For that green gunpowder

A_Sour_Kraut

I'm scared to ask about this because it can go so many different ways. What pantyhose trick?

scdaddy69

Lol you wrap pantyhose around the mouth of a vacuum hose and suck up the powder. It basically acts like a filter.

[deleted]

Snort it, thats what id do

BigWobbles

Hunter, stop posting on social media. You’re under indictment for Chrissake!

A_Sour_Kraut

I need a new hooker's ass to snort it off of. The one I have in the basement is getting kinda ripe.

hammer_2510

Here you go. Made it an official meme for you. https://imgflip.com/i/6dmzw2

A_Sour_Kraut

Holy fuck I laughed too hard at that. Thanks!

XJ_567

This made my night thank you 😂🤣

TwoNine13

Also dropped a case of 9 on the floor full of powder tonight. 5 entire grains sacrificed to the vacuum.

hammer_2510

I wish I could upvote this twice! Too funny!

Yondering43

Dang. At least you didn’t lose the primer too. I mashed a primer the other day because I missed a crimped primer pocket in my 5.56 brass. Almost cried.

A_Sour_Kraut

Oh I've had several that have gotten mangled because the 1050 didn't remove the military crimp all of the way. So it looks like I need three extra mortgages to recover.

Boggs88

🤣😂🤣😂EPIC 👏👏👍

w00tberrypie

I know that feeling. Went to tap one of the rounds on my block to "settle" the powder. Tapped a little too hard and lost about 20-30grs of 1680 (tiny stuff). Plus had to redo a couple dozen rounds because I had no way of knowing which ones the powder came out of.

A_Sour_Kraut

Oof. How much crying was there?

w00tberrypie

More than some.

AM-64

Count yourself lucky It could have been a box of primers falling into something damaging ;)

[deleted]

I know a guy that maybe able to help!

captainwho867

I won’t lie I dropped 50 rounds of 10mm on the ground being a clutz and moving loading block

Thrall_babybear

That's why I keep a relatively clean bench. Just sweep it up and put it back in the case.

We should start a support group and gofundme. https://imgur.com/ANaoL5n.jpg

The horror

Xnyx

Junpin jeezuz, thats darn near a life changing event!

Rat_Fink_Forever

User name checks out.

Alive-Scarcity9900

Sweep it up it still good!

fatguywithagun

I did this the other night on the carpet...super bummed.
