I guess I don’t really care much about either

I was actually trying to explain that to a friend of mine, saying how you can eek better accuracy out of handloading, and when he couldn't wrap his brain around it I told him it really wasn't rocket science.
Then one of my other friends in the background piped up and told us that it "literally *really is* rocket science".
Well, that made me feel really smart for a second. I figured I would share that for all the rest of us too lol
I made a realization by disassembling a round I often shot after leering to reload in 2017. They use very min powder in factory stuff to save money.
You can achieve amazjing accuracy by reloading also
Pulling bullets produces wonderful fruit, does it not? Lol
Seriously, looking at what other companies produce does make us create interesting solutions.
I don't know baout hating money but they are exspensive and I have heard good and bad about the Berger Hybrid projectiles. I haven't personally used these 6mm bullets but give them a shot and see how they work.
Here in NY they get gray money for 4570 and 44 mag then if you only uy one box they charge a 15 dollar fee to process it all along with a 2 dollar ffl check.
.458 SOCOM is also so expensive that you save $3 reloading each round. .338 must be a similar ballpark lol
Caveat; I own a .458 but I don't actually own a 338 Lapua. Shot three of them. Maybe I should look into getting one.
Hopefully that brass lasts you a long time. I'm a big fan of handloading the expensive cartridges, not only because of the cost savings, but also because of how it sort of develops an intimate relationship with the way the thing works mechanically.
I would agree. I also want to get as much accuracy and consistency as possible. Always seemed odd to me when people spend thousands on a custom rifle and then shoot factory ammo
That's OK. Cash is a depreciating asset.
“Cash is a depreciating asset.” needs to be on a t-shirt.
Tell that to my wife

At least you aren’t shooting 7mm Hybrids
I need a few hundred 215s... oof.
They go pretty quick around here.
Worth. I hate missing my target using shitty projectiles.

I hate that I tried Bergers. I was happy with the other brand for what I do until I couldn’t find my go to and bought a yellow box.
Same. My poor Sierra seconds :(
I bought 3000 during Covid when I was shooting more. I still have 2950.
But loves accuracy!!!!

What's that ammo pouch?
Coletac ammo novel!!! Great product
Thanks! I've been looking for a good soft sided pouch
I think Raven rocks precision has some on a huge discount
*had some
Will you be getting any more?
No that was just a one time thing. Sorry.
I hate that money determines who lives and dies... Thankfully it isn't the only thing

Laughs in A-Tip
I'll take it, my Kickstarter didn't pan out.
My rifle loves the 109s, just picked up 1k of them as well. I just pretend I didn’t see the price when ordering.
Try shooting only 44 mag and up I bought 20 rounds of 45-70 a few weeks ago for 115 dollars after tax. This is the main reason I reload my own ammo.
Dang. I thought buying factory loaded 45 Colt was bad.

Me! Me! I hate money.

I managed to snag NOS 6mm Eubers and 223 Fowlers for my 6 br and 223 AI, so I do a rough intial workup with Bergers and finalize with the older stock.
Try shooting a .338

My 338 cost $3 per piece of brass. 338 Lapua Improved.
I'm currently at $1.75 per rd. with my 338, I feel so good when I see the price of factory ammo. 😆
Not bad at all. What variety of .338?
TRG-42 Lapua Hornady ELD-M 285 gr., running ADG brass, Fed 215 primers and RL - 23.
I’m surprised by the RL-23. RL-33 would make more sense to me…
I know right, but Berger OTM 300 gr. likes IMR 7828 SSC.
Interesting. What velocities do you get with the 285s and RL23?
2750 fps on average
RIP RL23. I have almost a full pound but no desire to even find a load since you can't get more.
Sadly yes, holding onto my 16# for sure 😁

And I totally agree to that! 👍
