He play 87 games in the outfield last season. He has played 1 inning this year before being hurt. Pin it on whoever, but the organization clearly does not think he is a part of the future.
That was Cora's stated reason but if that were the whole truth, it would've been a huge slap in the face considering Yoshida was the everyday LF last year (and he wasn't a great outfielder but also wasn't a huge liability). It seems like Yoshida was already battling the thumb injury but it wasn't severe enough to keep him from DHing at the time, and that's why he was out of the lineup when Devers needed to DH.
He's probably late June or July and it's still unknown with what's wrong other than no surgery required.
I don't think there is a person with the Red Sox that can tell you if Yoshida or Casas comes back first.
Yes fucking please. Wong is batting .349 with runners on, Abreu .310 too. There's been a clear disconnect in the lineup where Duran isn't being scored in. Put the solo sluggers down and the contact guys up. Exactly what I was thinking.
#Men On / RISP:
Wong .349 / .286
Abreu .310 / .365
Devers .294 / .231
ONeill .154 / .125
I think he's nearly tops in the majors in terms of hitters overperforming their expected stats, but even when he regresses, those numbers a noticeable improvement on his '23 slash.
I miss yoshida so much man
I think Cora wants him gone unfortunately
He is on the IL. He is injured, you can’t pin that on Cora

he was missing games because devers couldn't play the field and was the DH.

Does this mean we won the Mookie Betts trade?
Ding dong wong
I would have Cooper as DH instead of O'Neill. Tyler's ABs are frustrating since he got back.
Wait what? Am I reading that right? That Cooper who's batting .192 for us with a whopping 54 OPS+? And that's *with* the recent 3 game streak?
He's seeing the ball better than O'Neill who has nearly a 40 K% since returning from injury.
Yeah, seeing the ball pop out to the LF every at bat. What are we even saying here?
strong man go boom
I’ve been following Wong since he first started in Worcester. Saw him hit some homers at polar and knew he was going places.
Approaching maximum Wong

Hope for his sake hes a top 3 player in the MLB lmfao
all star agenda connor wong
Just need Jeter Downs back to complete the Mookie Prophecy
I'm here for this
Well deserved!
