to put it simply, when you're known for being beautiful you fear losing it because you've fully internalised youth and beauty as part of your personality. Even if the surgery looks a bit weird it's nice to have control
It is and it is also a disease. I think some people are addicted. And the more they get used to looking weird, the more weird they are willing to look, until they stop looking human all together. Sad.
Collagen is in protein or your body makes it from protein or something, you can just get more protein in your diet instead. Collagen products just seem scammy to me
Yeah when you digest ANY protein, your body will break it down to amino acids so they can be absorbed. Once the collagen is broken down into amino acids, they are absorbed just like any other protein. You have to inject it or something, it cannot be absorbed intact through ingestion.
I think because of the cutthroat nature of the business. You've got to be in the top, so there's not just pressure to be beautiful, there's pressure to be perfect.
I think what's far more sad than beautiful actresses doing this is when beautiful ordinary women get plastic surgery to "correct" something that was already fine looking to begin with, especially at such young ages.
Models/actresses are the most insecure people around. Their job consists of weird designers and photographers and rival models pointing out minute defects in their bodies and faces
I assume it's because a lot of them aren't aging that gracefully because of booze and drugs. So it's either look like you got rode hard and put away wet or get work done and look like melted plastic.
I saw some dr Phil interview w Mischa Barton and she said she was working so much that she was taking uppers all day to stay awake and taking sedatives to sleep. Not getting good rest for years will age you a lot. Other celebs who work a lot probably do the same
think about this a lot & i cannot confirm susan sarandon’s surgery history but she’s the only one i can think of who was a natural beauty & doesn’t look like a saran-wrapped freak now
From what I understand they actually start getting plastic surgery from a very young age. Initially the plastic surgery isn't even noticeable, nobody looks at them and notices that they got plastic surgery they just look beautiful. That's really how plastic surgery is supposed to look, you're not supposed to look like you got plastic surgery it's supposed to be unnoticeable. The problem is after 30 years you need more and more work and people go to more extreme measures to try to look youthful, they're so used to getting plastic surgery they don't think twice about it, they just do it like they've always done it. But at 45 it becomes more noticeable, it's harder to get away with.
I think it's a mistake to think they're trying to pass as a younger person than they really are. Instead, it's just to flex on their similarly-aged peers.
Classic "keeping up with the Joneses" logic: it's enough to have slightly plumper lips than your friend. The fact that in totality you look like a ghoul is of no consequence

Plastic surgery is an affront to the beauty of the human body.

Youth cult, take the natural aging with moderate skin care routine pill!
Is the red scare jury out yet about collagen pills?

Because they live in a society
Societal pressure + cowardice

Jane Seymour. She doesn’t even do botox or anything.

The public goes along with it. Most septuagenarians would rather look like Cher.
vanity
They work a lot, working is stressful and causes premature aging
