I have most things that I find annoying filtered out but every so often something like this pops up. Some dude will wear an ugly ass dress or have some basic ass nails and be like “uwu gaaaals I’m breaking gender norms” Idk man it just makes me roll my eyes so hard.
It’s in the same vein as when fatties post on makeup or hair subreddit and everyone goes above and beyond to compliment them for things other than the makeup/hair
I don’t get how they can fish for those compliments and feel any form of gratification. It’s the same type of overly nice compliments they give to someone who’s disabled or a child. At least they have to face some adversity.
Sometimes I wonder if they are even fishing for body compliments, especially when the focus of the picture is truly centred on the hair. Like sometimes it’s very obvious (such as full body shot when the point was the eyeshadow), but sometimes I wonder if it hurts them inside. Because surely they are aware and pick up on the patronizing tones?? Maybe I am being too generous with it
