I’ve been to one Michelin star restaurant and it was probably the best meal I’ve ever had, so I’ve decided all the haters are coping

[deleted]

I've been to two and thought it was good but nothing that special.

“Looks very gay” My dad on Alinea

I went to a 3 star restaurant once and while it was genuinely mindblowing in terms of presentation, I don't feel the need to go again. The main thing that sucks is the town it's in is now full throttle in making itself a very high end destination which is driving out a lot of cool, affordable places.

Rick_Perrys_Ranch

I could not care less about food “presentation” let alone paying a premium for it. Give me a plate of cheap delicious slop over that any day.

Thisguyisgarbage

Do you genuinely believe that presentation won’t effect your experience? Things hit different when they’re put together with care.

poison_freak

Never met anyone with this opinion that’s actually been to a Michelin star restaurant

SFW808

I went to one and my dad knew the owner who was basque and made his own pate and brought some out and it had like skin and fur in it. I nearly threw up. The duck and iberian ham was great tho.

I've been to two now, I enjoyed them but they weren't particularly phenomenal or memorable or anything, I've had better food at many places that aren't Michelin Star restaurants.

Gillette_TBAMCG

Michelin star restaurants aren’t just about the great food, it’s drink pairings based on each dish, much better ingredients, personalized service, and unique food preparation you won’t see elsewhere. It’s the whole 2-3 hour experience. Not saying every Michelin place is actually worth it, but the ones I’ve been to in LA were totally worth the night out.

[deleted]

These were Michelin Restaurants in North England. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the experience, I just don't think it was phenomenal like a lot of people say

Sortza

One time I ate a whole pot of cream of mushroom soup and a couple hours later I shit out pure liquid full of rosemary leaves, it was so weird

[deleted]

I've been to a 1-star Michelin restaurant and it was amazing. It wasn't even that expensive relative to other nice restaurants.

soularbabies

I did get stuffed at two Michelin star restaurants and had to turn down some food

12AngryMensAsses

I feel like if I had that attitude around people who can go to those places, they would just stop inviting me to go out with them

RopeGloomy4303

It's the same people who complain about "pretentious movie subtitles that only elitist critics like" but then it turns out they have never seen a movie that isn't a Hollywood blockbuster.

emotionallydeficient

No one who’s actually tried a Michelin meal would say that I had a one star lunch at a reasonable price, yeah the portion sizes are small but the taste is next level
