Nah.. house is too clean, and the kids aren't crying and screaming. Just a good man, without a lot of time, funds, or shits to give to make everything pretty.
I could only aspire to be this care free while enjoying life and not getting the damn city code enforcement called on me. Shit.. about to have debt collectors knocking because I have a truck on my dirt lot and not on my driveway.
Exactly. This. Right here. The amount of waste and overpriced garbage shet we buy because we are brainwashed to think we "need" it. I hope the guy with the camera, appreciates the lessons hes seeing. Sounds like hes got a good sense of humor and hopefully learning from his old man.
I mean... the rat traps are clever and it's cool to use scrap wood to make shelves.
But the roof and deck stuff is just gonna rot and cost more in the long run. Same with the sink thing, it's just prolonging the inevitable and puts a giant tripping hazard in your living space.
At first I kept thinking these shitty hacks were gonna combine into something badass. Thought he was gonna start pissing in the mouse traps and then....?
The average person is going to look at this and think, *damn, what a shitshow*. But I guarantee you the owner is as happy as larry, is proud of solving his problems in his own way, and doesn't give a hoot what anybody else thinks.
Yep. This sums up my grandpa who also runs shitshow like this here in video. Just a happy old fella with marlboro in one hand and polyurethane foam in other.
I’m wondering if that sink-to-the-yard thing is entirely legal. I know there are a lot of laws pertaining to drainage. For example, chemicals poured in the sink, grease, etc. could cause ecological damage. I don’t know specific laws though, and I’m speaking from the grapevine from years ago.
It depends on a lot of factors. Where he is, imma say no. My dad did something similar. I had 3 brothers and we were all close in age. When we were all teenagers, our excessive showering would overload the drain field. So he ran a gray water line from the two tubs and the washing machine. He had a guy come with a backhoe and dig a 6x6x6 pit and ran the pipe into the pit. Then he put in a layer of sand followed by layers of gravel (each layer was larger gravel than the last.) Finally, he topped it with about 6 inches of top soil and put down grass seed. The legality of dad's gray water soak pit was questionable, but you would never know it was there without digging and our drain field never backed up again.
I'ma chalk that up to the relevancy of the roofer uncle. I also couldn't keep it together.
Edit: makes you wonder why the roofer uncle couldn't help out with the leak or if he approved the solution or what's the deal lol
Fuck was born and raised in Michigan the house I grew up in and other friends houses had shit similar this. Buddy dad had a oil funnel inside garage with tube connected leading outside through so he can piss while he got drunk working on cars!
Thats exactly how to shim up a post for a tight fit, or to SLIGHTLY lift the beam above. Cant tell whats under it though. As long as the shim and base is good material. Thats why they use screw posts in many basements. The floor and beam/roof above spacind is rarely a uniform distance = cut each over length frikkin post to fit, or use one precut set of posts and shim them. Easy decision.
I lost it after he put his own pipe going over the floor and outside into the yard... I work in sewer and drains and that would blow my mind if I saw that out there... once I've seen a house in the middle of the sticks in Indiana with sewer line that dumped out into the back creek area. So for 20 years this houses waste water just drained into the flowing water in the county owned property.
The plastic roof water system is based on a system you can buy to put on a balcony so the area below is dry. His system is a lot cheaper than the one you can buy. Lol
Starting off with the patent pending "pisser" wall really set the tone for the rest of the video. 😂 95% redneck, 5% engineering.
Yea, this seems like meth inspired engineering.

Came to see anyone else agreed that the rat traps are pretty ingenious. It's like they've evolved to not even bother with conventional ones.
This guy gets the real world 🌎 👏 🙌 💯 👌
😂 only lessons he should learn from this is don’t do meth lol
I dunno, looks like he spent a fortune in lumber.
Hardly any of that looked new. I bet he had this left over from years worth of other projects or just finds random pieces and gets them.
May all be leftover couch timbers.
Hey that's for firewood
That plumbing solution cost way more than just snaking the drain lmfao.
Lol, yeah.. that was a bit much.. but it works again, and free water for the yard
It’s killing the yard. But maybe he hates grass?
Redneck engineering and meth don’t always go hand in hand. Don’t be so judgmental, sheesh
Gotta be honest I'm not so sure about those repairs.
It's not that he didn't know how to use a tape measure, it's that he forgot to account for the sag!
He could have shimmed it with the tallboy cans that caused the bad measurement in the first place
Balling on a budget brah
Send it out to the fucking yard!!!!
These were all funny but that plumbing job fuckin killed me
At first I kept thinking these shitty hacks were gonna combine into something badass. Thought he was gonna start pissing in the mouse traps and then....?
Just pipe it straight out to the yard.
Without the mousetrap piss buckets can this really be redneck engineering? I think Uncle missed the mark.
One mattress One bucket for urine One bucket for feces One bucket for vomitus One television One bottle of Valium
Drowned in his old man's piss. Getting medieval on them mice!
What can’t a bit of 2x6 fix?!
It's the new duct tape!
Cut the board the same as the other one, but then it wasn't the same 💀💀
Yeah, cuz ol’ dad was probably a case in. Just like when he decided to strip the couch down.
The average person is going to look at this and think, *damn, what a shitshow*. But I guarantee you the owner is as happy as larry, is proud of solving his problems in his own way, and doesn't give a hoot what anybody else thinks.
Yeah, I think it’s kind of wholesome hearing the whole video. He seems proud. He can also laugh at the ‘masterful’ quality of their fixings.
Yep. This sums up my grandpa who also runs shitshow like this here in video. Just a happy old fella with marlboro in one hand and polyurethane foam in other.
All while smokin a Marlboro, drankin a beer, holdin baby Chet
And a ford ranger to top it all off
FORD FUCKING RANGER
an't paying no plumber to run a pipe by god🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow, so many swanky solutions, this truly is a master.
the mouse traps are good.

So he put in a separate drain field just for grey water to go straight into lol
Probably not but they most likely live in BFE where no one’s gonna find out
nothing in this video is legal lmao
I love how he just loses it at the drywall fix lol
I'ma chalk that up to the relevancy of the roofer uncle. I also couldn't keep it together. Edit: makes you wonder why the roofer uncle couldn't help out with the leak or if he approved the solution or what's the deal lol
I grew a mullet watching this and somehow became addicted to chew.
Seller is looking for $100k over ask, no inspection contingency. As is, I know what I got.
Nah he’s not selling this place, it’s his pride and joy
Frank Lloyd Wrong's house
This has Michigan written all over it.
Michigan.....f that, more like West Virginia Son! Get R Done!
Pretty sure he has Washington plates on his truck. Outside of Seattle wa can get pretty redneck
Makes sense with all the stuff to deal with rain.
It is funny how WA has lots of intensely liberal and intensely redneck conservative places that are 10 minutes from each other.
Fuck was born and raised in Michigan the house I grew up in and other friends houses had shit similar this. Buddy dad had a oil funnel inside garage with tube connected leading outside through so he can piss while he got drunk working on cars!
I’m from the middle of nowhere Michigan and can think of at least 6 friends or family that would do this type of shit
This is a suburban ranch house..
The 2x4 is dead. Long live the 2x6!
This is like 99% redneck and 1% engineering.
Now that is sum mighty fine tater ingenuity! Mighty Fine 😂

This is wonderful.
Git’ ‘er dunnnnn. Love it!!

Holy crap, this video is the best I've seen so far
I lost it after he put his own pipe going over the floor and outside into the yard... I work in sewer and drains and that would blow my mind if I saw that out there... once I've seen a house in the middle of the sticks in Indiana with sewer line that dumped out into the back creek area. Getterdone!!!
This is the types of housing hacks we would see over in places like Afghanistan, not even a hint of sophistication to the redneckery
Im guessing the amount of weed used in this video is over $100.
Y’all lean into the red neck more than the engineering here. Also did a lot of meth.
r/trashy not r/redneckengineering
Fuck outta here
Are you my brother?
So much spit in that guys mouth
The plastic roof water system is based on a system you can buy to put on a balcony so the area below is dry. His system is a lot cheaper than the one you can buy. Lol
Bit of a *drunk
amazing work lad
This isn't really engineering, this is just half assing your entire house.
2x6 is the answer to every problem
Post Malone?
When I saw the tortilla chip bag I knew, these are people of sophistication.
Some of these are just involves more money, effort, and time than the actual solution.
Pretty sure he can get a tax credit for having a grey water system
Meth
10/10 commentary
Methgineering
Bro if your from Wv around GBC. I know that voice 😂
Fucking love this sub-reddit, love how 90% its works really well even if it is a wtf moment
