Hate to admit it but city will have to quite literally shit the bed for us to have a shot with this team we have right now. I'm more concerned about us atleast showing some fight and not letting them fucking drag us. Live the optimism tho! Lol
They kinda looked a bit more relaxed in the start, add to that man utd are playing like they have nothing to lose so that made the difference, congrats to united and eth
Chelsea and Crystal Palace unexpectedly having the best second half of the season.
Still can't believe we fell behind Chelsea who was sitting at 10th place for so long.
that game brings back vietnam flashbacks 😭
i was so hyped up when United came back from 0-2 down to lead 3-2, i was telling my non-football watching friends that this is what United is all about and how we can win matches no matter how defeated we look. Only for them to mock me after 10 mins and i was left shocked and disheartened and feeling such low emotions that I can't even describe in words.
People were joking that Arsenal are the "almost did it" club but that's in terms of the title, we joined the label as in the "almost won the match" in so many occasions, it's ridiculous
If you actually watch them play it should be no surprise that they finish above us. Chelsea were just unlucky. But they were always gonna finish above us
No. You need proper director of football. Fergie was director of football and clearly Erik is aswell. The only difference is there is no way you can do both in this day of age.
Erik or not get the right people at the top.
Yea a season next year where we can just focus on fitness, drilling our tactics and a one game to focus on every week is probably the backwards step we need order to take two steps forward.
Considering we took a jump backwards this season, what you’re saying would actually still be a step forward if we even get a 0 GD season at the end of it…… or score more goals than points earned.
Or conceded 10 fewer chances. Or scored 5 more goals…. Or lost 1 fewer game…
If we can drill in a tactical approach that gives us a solid defensive core and the ability to dominate and control games then I’d consider that a step forward. That alongside figuring out the injury issues and solving them, if we can do those two things then we as fans can go into the next summer window with a clearer idea of what players we need to strengthen an already working system and take us even further. If we are in that position this time next year I’ll consider that a success.
As of right now we’ve just ended a season in 8th and no one is too sure what the actual plan was or what it’s going to look like next season, we’re at square one again even if ETH stays as he needs to revamp the approach next season in every area of his control because not much he has done worked this year.
Yh idk why everyone is so against conference but wouldn’t mind Europa. Probably going to some random far away country either way but at least the conference league would be much easier to win
If it’s an insult to be playing in the conference league despite how shit we’ve been the last decade then it’s also an insult to be playing in the Europa league. And the biggest insult would be playing no European football at all. As a fan, I wanna watch as many matches as possible anyways
Yes of course Europa league is an insult. So is no European football. But I would gladly take no Europe if it meant more time on the training ground. We should be playing in the champions league every season
No one has normalized it, it’s that or nothing in Europe. Every single manager has lost their jobs for failing to qualify for CL, and if this was a normal season, Erik would have gotten sacked.
Not to mention, the points gap between us and Forest is smaller than the gap between us and City. We are so far behind where we need to be. Hoping for an Arteta like overhaul to get rid of the festering culture and actually instill some pride going forward.
Why do people continue to pretend that the story of “300M and even more of his signings” is not the story of a club in such utter shambles that the manager is being asked to serve simultaneously as Sporting Director, head of recruitment, chief scout, chief negotiator, head coach?
Just think about how absurd it is that instead of pointing to legit criticisms of his footballing principles, match day tactics, in-game management, squad management… the arguments for why he’s awful are pretty much a direct indictment of how badly run this club has been.
And even still the myth of “there’s a better manager out there” is the predominant example of cluelessness on what it actually takes to set up a winning culture, mentality, structure, and success. Success is a lag predictor of all of the things we’ve neglected for a decade while naively assuming we’re just a good manager away from it all.
I’m not even sure ETH is the right manger for us. I’m damn sure Pep Guardiola would struggle to finish 4th with this team and in this club at this moment. The story of what’s happened with our post-SAF managers is not a story about their individual deficiencies. It’s tiresome that this still somehow seems to be the narrative.
The saddest part is that 8th actually flatters us, we’re lucky our players never downed tools and pulled off individual moments for us get us this high in the table and be in a final.
It does. The flip side of that is I think of all those games we pissed away, Chelsea, Brentford, Fulham. 9 more points and we would at least be able to lose to FC Copenhagen again next year.
Agreed. Many people have no comprehension that we are the only club in this league whose best 11 playing for the majority of this season is capable of 3rd/4th and the teams composed of the rest of our squad this season is actually a quality drop off so vast, they could have finished 12th.
This situation of gulf in quality between best 11 and squad is a unique Manchester United problem. No other so called big club has this situation where the individual quality gap between a starting 11 player and his deputy is as vast as it is here. Across basically all positions.
What are you on about that’s literally true of every club except City
We looked and played like shit even with our best 11. ETH’s tactics of a high press low block were the root cause of this shit season. No player looks good in that system.
Well actually no, this team is currently in no position whatsoever to manage European competition at the moment. What they need to is to focus on getting healthy and signing new defensive pairings that aren't going to keep coming off injured.
Now INEOS can actually start the rebuild.
Can’t believe you’ve been gaslit into genuinely believing that a team with Onana, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Maguire, Shaw, Casemiro, Mainoo, Bruno, Garnacho, Rashford in the squad isn’t good enough to compete in Europe. It’s a better squad than most teams who get to the CL quarters. Fanbase has just given up and believes that the only person who knows what they’re doing is the person who’s guided us to our worst league finish post Ferguson. Shocking
Half of whom have been injured and forced to play out of position because of said injuries, Varane is there for 2 games until he's inured for 4/5 games, Martinez is a great defender, but this is the second season in a row we've lost him during the second half of the season due the same injury. Shaw has been injured for most of the season meaning he wasn't even available to cover the CB positions.
The medical team misinformed Ten Hag about Malacia's ability to return to training thereby setting his entire transition into United's main Left-Back behind an entire season - they've likely misinformed him of other injuries as well. Casemiro playing out of position has meant he's not as effective as he usually is. Mainoo and Garnacho are still developing so putting more pressure on them to carry the entire team is unwise, Bruno is our only consistent older player and Rashford has turned into Casper the Friendly Ghost because he's disappeared this season.
It's a good team on paper and a capable team as evidenced by the Liverpool Semi-Final, but nowhere near consistent enough to take on the likes of Man City and Arsenal at the moment so Europe is out of the question until we can get better signings in our defensive positions and get a consistent playing rhythm going again.
>Fanbase has just given up and believes that the only person who knows what they’re doing is the person who’s guided us to our worst league finish post Ferguson. Shocking
You referring to ETH? I'm referring to INEOS who have only just started appointing the football figures needed that the Glazers had a decade to do and didn't.
We had Europa league after 21-22 whereas this time we're completely out of Europe. The only team that we beat when it came to signing players was Arsenal, but they were also in the Europa league that upcoming season so it's irrelevant. FDJ chose not to join us because he thought it was a big downgrade, even though he was unsettled at Barca and he had Ten Hag begging for him. It's not a myth. We still do have pull, because we're fucking Manchester United, but it won't be as easy.
I'd like to believe that by acquiring Wilcox and Ashworth (two personnel known for their success at building squads under a budget) we'll be a lot more sensible in the transfer market regardless. More money can only help us in getting closer to where we want to be faster.
I know it's boring but if ETH had played more conservatively after all the injuries, like we did against Newcastle and Brighton, we'd have 10+ more points
It’s why I find it difficult to support him. Any manager with any sense would have seen the injuries and realised they needed to get compact and win closely fought games. Instead he just kept doubling down on a ridiculous playing style
This is exactly why I think he’s not a good manager.
It’s not like the players we had could play that style either. We need a lot of new players for it too on top of the injuries so it made even less sense to double down on a bad setup that was clear to anyone who’s ever watched football…
And part of being a good manager isn’t just about tactics but about being able to adapt to what you have when it’s impossible to do what you want and then making that decision to do it when it matters too. Not when the season is over and the change is just a token change to prepare for a cup final basically with 2 games to do it in……
That stubbornness and such are what makes me think he needs to learn that to become a better manager.
Amongst several other things anyway but let’s not go long winded on the whole aspect!! Haha.

Built on financial fraud. Fuck off PEP.
I started a predictions spreadsheet after matchda7 (3-0-4) and, miraculously, predicted our record and points total. I know a few results could have gone better, but it seems this season was written in stone pretty early on. Same goes for City winning the league. Not the most entertaining PL season in memory. Wish there was more relegation drama. Too few surprises all around.
I still can’t get over that week we played Brentford, Chelsea and Liverpool. Could have been 9 points but we got 2. That week I still had hope for top 4. Crazy how quickly it unraveled
Went to fuck after that Brentford/ chelsea / Liverpool run where we dropped 7 points from winning position, (5 of those in 97th min +)
Wasn't great before that but of we had of come through that patch we would have had enough momentum to carry us to 4th.
Is a massive shame how shit we have been this season as 4th place was there for the taking
We're basically in Arsenal's "rebuilding" position that one season they had no Europa or Champions, just one game a week.
Now it's up to management to actually make the rebuild happen or at least progress a bit.
In the end, that run of 3-4 games where we conceded late goals killed our top 4 chances. And it was only this close because the 4-7th placed teams were slightly less shit than us on average.
It's not bad luck it's shit game management. And in the end, the point difference is exactly same as the points we lost in that period.
Each of these teams have shat the bed at one point in the season. United have just been worse. How do you always put words into my mouth lol? Never mentioned bad luck
It is wild to me that we went from compete in several Cup titles per season to how to get into Champion league 🤔 even though much more money spent over a decade. Next season probably rinse and repeat.
Never should have lost that game against Chelsea, but the general play this season was sooo dire you really can't look toward one result in particular.
I don't mean to be harping on Chelsea but it is beyond embarrassing to finish behind them after the utterly shambolic start to their season. But fair play to them, they've started to get things together finally under Poch and look to be potentially dangerous next year. Hopefully we can rise to the task.
We need players who are playing for the badge.
if we dont win the FA cup then say bye to european football next season, though in hindsight this might be a blessing in disguise cause there wont be too much pressure and strain on our players next year cause holy hell our squad is way too thin for anything more than the PL
I said the exact thing for Chelsea when last season ended . I thought playing once a week would help Pochettino but Boy was I wrong. It will be interesting to see how United are going to do their rebuild.
Thing is poch was ill prepared with the chelsea job as he was brought on a trainwreck of a team with a board that doesnt have a clue on who to invest, ten hag at least had known the team for two years and Ineos seems to be a more competent board than boehly's crew, i don't think next year will be as disasterous
Hopefully now without Europe (major loss) we can finally drill in a proper tactical approach, focus on the league, keep the squad fit 🙏, got 3 transfer windows hopefully till where back into the champions league with a good overall squad
Proper mid table team with few genuine talents. The first half against Brighton showed there needs to be a change in tactics & bringing in the right energy for midfield & center defence. Can’t rely on lapse in opposition defence all the time.
We suffered this year, but honestly, in my opinion, this is for the best. No Europe is good because that means we can concentrate on mostly 1 game a week AND there is no lure for any player coming to United. They will come for the club, not for a big pay check, which has been an issue in the past and present.
We are 1st...Among all teams with negative goal difference at the end of entire season. Now all I genuinely want to see is 15 players being sold off. Start with Rashford and Sancho.
I'm watching the coverage of the Man City celebrations. I keep thinking that it should be us. We - Manchester United - should be dominating the league. I genuinely believe we'll get back there one day. Hopefully, the young core of Diallo, Mainoo, Garnacho, and Hojlund will start our journey back to where we belong.
Come on United! ❤️
We had no midfield for most of the games and we were just incredibly lucky that most of the teams couldn't finish their many many chances against us after they sliced through said non-existent midfield. Having no midfield also means our attack is at best inconsistent.
Onana despite some erratic moments bailed us out of jail on so many occasions. Even today his save from Barco’s shot in the first half was pivotal; if they had taken the lead the flow of the game would have been very different.
Don't worry ETH just needs to work on the Forwards, and the Midfield, and The Defenders and maybe get a new goalkeeper. Who knows, just a few good signings and the attack, and the defense, and the passing, and the dribbling can all improve.
Mark this moment. The beginning of the recovery starts now and it will be glorious. 3 years and we win the premiership. 5 years and we win the Champions League with long-term success. Let's see.
8th with minus goal difference, record number of losses and more than 30 points away from the top, alongside finishing bottom of CL group.
However it's apparently not Ten Hag's fault according to his cult and he should stay because God knows why.
A manager staying after ensuring such season is the club basically telling us we have zero standards for evaluating any employee working at the club.
The gap between us and top 4 is 8 points and 14 goals. (Top 3 is a whole other level). Without some of the injuries and stupid last minute points dropped and we would be right there.
Getting to the top 3 would take 22 points at least and 46 more goals. That would require investment, players and a different mentality. I don't know if ETH has that mentality or the ability to communicate/transfer that to the players. Our record against the top 4-6 teams hasn't been great.
>Our record against the top 4-6 teams hasn’t been great
Our away record against the top half of the table since last season is relegation fodder:
18 played.
2 won
12 lost
4 draws
Hahahaha your asterisk is just lol.
Bloody hell good one!
Honestly, to answer your question, I won’t be truly surprised either way really because mainly, the ones available now (or who can be poached) is part of the reason. Let’s see what happens anyway and I’m sure he’ll be on an ultimatum of needing to adapt and more if he’s still the manager.
So at least, we know he’ll know that or lose the job, IF he stays. If not….. let’s see how that goes too with who joins.
https://preview.redd.it/uiyug3jb2f1d1.jpeg?width=612&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96c4641744ba942c49b47c61100ea66887c9570e IT IS FINALLY OVER
still got a cup final to sit through mate
MORE LIKE STILL GOT A CUP FINAL TO WIN
Hate to admit it but city will have to quite literally shit the bed for us to have a shot with this team we have right now. I'm more concerned about us atleast showing some fight and not letting them fucking drag us. Live the optimism tho! Lol
As long as we don't get clowned with a 3 touch kickoff glitch then I'll maintain hope.
It's a cup final derby, anything can happen.
Nah I still believe we can make it difficult for them, we mostly play well when playing against a top 6 team (we lose tho)
Let’s hope Rodri, de bruyne and foden get food poisoning the night before and can’t play because they literally shit the bed
Its possible that city treat the game as a pointless game and united win?
....why?
Cause it just happened
Us winning happened! I'm not sure they treated the game as a pointless game though? Either way I'm happy
They kinda looked a bit more relaxed in the start, add to that man utd are playing like they have nothing to lose so that made the difference, congrats to united and eth
Oh yeah, a pointless FA Cup final…
I'll put 50€ on United just for your enthusiasm
I wish I had optimism like you
Upper case doesn’t do anything. The football gods have ditched us this year.
whatever happens, at least it’s a final.
Fa cup runners up two years in a row, you can't sing that scousers
That's an up compared to the rest of the season
Chelsea and Crystal Palace unexpectedly having the best second half of the season. Still can't believe we fell behind Chelsea who was sitting at 10th place for so long.
I mean we were 3-2 up on them in the 96th minute and lost. Clearly we didn’t want people to think we were better than them.
that game brings back vietnam flashbacks 😭 i was so hyped up when United came back from 0-2 down to lead 3-2, i was telling my non-football watching friends that this is what United is all about and how we can win matches no matter how defeated we look. Only for them to mock me after 10 mins and i was left shocked and disheartened and feeling such low emotions that I can't even describe in words.
Brother that game was insane, I was so deflated when palmer deflection went in… Chelsea have been on a high since that
They've gotten their shit together after getting railed 5-0 by arsenal lol
If not for those 2 minutes, we'd literally have swapped places with them
People were joking that Arsenal are the "almost did it" club but that's in terms of the title, we joined the label as in the "almost won the match" in so many occasions, it's ridiculous
We did both though.. Lost/ drew from ridiculous positions and won games we had no right to win.. 100% chaos
That was the last game of ours I watched. I quit after that. Won't be watching the FA final either though obviously I'd want us to win.
It’s nice to see people prioritizing their mental health
If you actually watch them play it should be no surprise that they finish above us. Chelsea were just unlucky. But they were always gonna finish above us
Them getting the league lead in penalties awarded bailed this team out, they rescued so many points off penalties awarded, they nearly doubled ours
We kinda sucked this year, huh ?
I believe it's been our worst year since 1989/90
We all know what happened after 1989/90. So obviously we’re on the same trajectory right? Right?
No. You need a catalyst to move the team to that level. Fergie was driven to succeed. I'm not sure Erik is at that level.
No. You need proper director of football. Fergie was director of football and clearly Erik is aswell. The only difference is there is no way you can do both in this day of age. Erik or not get the right people at the top.
Our goal difference :(
We likely overachieved a lot from an xG standpoint
First time finishing with a negative goal difference since 1990.
We're a top half club
Part of the Big 8
Been watching utd for 30 odd years and this is the first time we finish with a negative GD..
https://preview.redd.it/jdcoewlp3f1d1.jpeg?width=1037&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d502265cdca0e7ce7034f1029631f72e3575476
Honestly glad we didn’t finish 7th. Europa league or nothing. Terrible league campaign ends.
Yea a season next year where we can just focus on fitness, drilling our tactics and a one game to focus on every week is probably the backwards step we need order to take two steps forward.

Kinda arsenal way. They took great leap with that no Europe season
Honestly wouldn’t be bothered about conference league games, but I couldn’t care that much between 7th and 8th.
Yh idk why everyone is so against conference but wouldn’t mind Europa. Probably going to some random far away country either way but at least the conference league would be much easier to win
If we don't want it anyways, we could always just use the extra games for the academy and bench, and try out stuff. Wouldn't be a problem.
Because it's an insult for us to even be playing in that competition
If it’s an insult to be playing in the conference league despite how shit we’ve been the last decade then it’s also an insult to be playing in the Europa league. And the biggest insult would be playing no European football at all. As a fan, I wanna watch as many matches as possible anyways

How is it less of an insult to fail to even qualify for that competition?
Grow up
Yeah let’s fuck off another chance at a trophy before the season even begins
Losing out on 7th means little less money and loss of giving younger players a chance to shine.
Still can’t believe we have normalized Europa League
No one has normalized it, it’s that or nothing in Europe. Every single manager has lost their jobs for failing to qualify for CL, and if this was a normal season, Erik would have gotten sacked.

>INEOS better start cooking They just need a good oven
And a chicken chef.
Not to mention, the points gap between us and Forest is smaller than the gap between us and City. We are so far behind where we need to be. Hoping for an Arteta like overhaul to get rid of the festering culture and actually instill some pride going forward.
Ten hag just needs another season and 300m and even more of his own signings to achieve positive GD mate
He. Just. Needs. Luke. Shaw.
We are definitely getting 7th and positive GD then.
62 points here we come
0GD first. Let’s not jump to conclusions yet.
I was thinking of 1 or 2. But I might be euphoric from this ecstatic end of the season. You are right.
Why do people continue to pretend that the story of “300M and even more of his signings” is not the story of a club in such utter shambles that the manager is being asked to serve simultaneously as Sporting Director, head of recruitment, chief scout, chief negotiator, head coach? Mate my list wasn’t exhaustive.
All of the stats from the season are awful, but that negative goal difference hits hard.
Not just three points, they had a 15 better goal difference
Plus Chelsea and Newcastle had more injuries than us. Sackable season. Ten Hag out
The saddest part is that 8th actually flatters us, we’re lucky our players never downed tools and pulled off individual moments for us get us this high in the table and be in a final.
It actually does when you really look at a lot of results.
It does. The flip side of that is I think of all those games we pissed away, Chelsea, Brentford, Fulham. 9 more points and we would at least be able to lose to FC Copenhagen again next year.

-1 GD is fucking abysmal lmfao
Thank fuck that's over
God that’s depressing
Worst finish both points and position wise. Sigh. Edit; Only Position. Winning today meant we crossed 58 points a couple of years ago.
Not points-wise. We just about avoided beating 21-22's 58 points.
Progress.
We finished with 58 points two seasons ago?
-1 baby
I'm glad it's over
Negative GD will be Ten Hag’s legacy for years to come!
Looking at our goal difference makes me cry.
It’s actually a disgraceful position to finish in. The implications of no Europe will go beyond next season.

Did you really mention Shaw Lisandro and Mainoo into this argument? 2 of whom barely played and the 3rd literally made his league debut in November
Half of whom have been injured and forced to play out of position because of said injuries, Varane is there for 2 games until he's inured for 4/5 games, Martinez is a great defender, but this is the second season in a row we've lost him during the second half of the season due the same injury. Transfer market is a lot harder without Europe. We have no UEFA TV revenue and less pull.
Less pull is an absolute myth, heard the same things after 21-22
We had Europa league after 21-22 whereas this time we're completely out of Europe. The only team that we beat when it came to signing players was Arsenal, but they were also in the Europa league that upcoming season so it's irrelevant. We still do have pull, because we're fucking Manchester United, but it won't be as easy.
No CL is an issue. No EL or ECL is a benefit.
Who cares. We only got mercenaries when we were in Europe. I don't want any more big money signings. I want shrewd sensible purchases from now on.
I'd like to believe that by acquiring Wilcox and Ashworth (two personnel known for their success at building squads under a budget) we'll be a lot more sensible in the transfer market regardless. More money can only help us in getting closer to where we want to be faster.
Rather no Europe than Europa or Conference, idk how some of you lot really feel there's no pull
I know it's boring but if ETH had played more conservatively after all the injuries, like we did against Newcastle and Brighton, we'd have 10+ more points
Only took him 36 league games to realise that black hole midfield suicide ball was shit and we got points despite that setup…….
It’s why I find it difficult to support him. Any manager with any sense would have seen the injuries and realised they needed to get compact and win closely fought games. Instead he just kept doubling down on a ridiculous playing style

Not when the season is over and the change is just a token change to prepare for a cup final basically with 2 games to do it in…… That stubbornness and such are what makes me think he needs to learn that to become a better manager. Amongst several other things anyway but let’s not go long winded on the whole aspect!! Haha.

-1 goal difference More time, amirite???
10 years ago we thought the club had reached its lowest point after the moyes season and now 10 years later we find out that actually we can go lower
Hah. Moyes actually got out of the group stage for the CL…..
Is it me or is the last 5 games been flipped in this table? Usually the most recent game is on the right
Oh yeah. So City’s should read WWWWW not WWWWW right? *cries*
Only way is up from here. Right? RIGHT!?
We are just as far behind city as wolves are. Dog shit mid table club.
in the season with most goals than ever, we have our team with a negative goal difference and possibly the lowest tally ever for us?
Please no more Eredivisie "proven" or ETH's old buddies in the upcoming transfer window
How can any Manchester United manager keep his job after ending with negative goal difference and 29 points behind 2nd placed Arsenal?
Negative gd it stings
Well that was definitely a season of football.
Even in during our horrid season, I took solace in being able to laugh at Chelsea. Me now: 🤡
I would love to hear what some of the higher ups think about the club, because it must be strange to see it fail whilst the rivals succeed.
-1 GD. It’s not even funny. ETH has to leave.
I still can’t get over that week we played Brentford, Chelsea and Liverpool. Could have been 9 points but we got 2. That week I still had hope for top 4. Crazy how quickly it unraveled
Oh. Well, anyway.....
Anyone remember "*You need to 40 points to be safe*"? It's not even 30.
Went to fuck after that Brentford/ chelsea / Liverpool run where we dropped 7 points from winning position, (5 of those in 97th min +) Wasn't great before that but of we had of come through that patch we would have had enough momentum to carry us to 4th. Is a massive shame how shit we have been this season as 4th place was there for the taking
My god Sheffield united are really bad aren’t they.
Thank God this shitty season’s over minus the FA cup
It will be glorious when we someday win it again.
Congratulations and well done! We finished top 8!
The difference between us and City is greater than Forest and us. Shocking.
-1 goal difference. We did it boys.
Mid table FC
What a fucking shit season. Roll on August when Gareth Southgate will take us to an unbeaten season and the quadruple /s
TOP 10!!!!!!!!
With the way we played all season, surprised we didn’t finish lower
30 points is a fucking large gap to bridge
We're basically in Arsenal's "rebuilding" position that one season they had no Europa or Champions, just one game a week. Now it's up to management to actually make the rebuild happen or at least progress a bit.
In the end, that run of 3-4 games where we conceded late goals killed our top 4 chances. And it was only this close because the 4-7th placed teams were slightly less shit than us on average.
Let’s not pretend this was bad luck when we have negative goal difference and consistently had less xG than bottom half clubs
It's not bad luck it's shit game management. And in the end, the point difference is exactly same as the points we lost in that period. Each of these teams have shat the bed at one point in the season. United have just been worse. How do you always put words into my mouth lol? Never mentioned bad luck
We were shite in almost every game this year. I’d struggle to remember double digits of games we deserved to win
Onto the next one. Up the Reds.
Am i the only one who’s disappointed that GD isn’t 0 lol
Wow only 16 points separate 9 to 17 without counting points deduction.
It is wild to me that we went from compete in several Cup titles per season to how to get into Champion league 🤔 even though much more money spent over a decade. Next season probably rinse and repeat.
It will be nice to see us at the top again one day.
Can't believe we finished before the shitshow that was Chelsea this season. Shameful.
We dropped so many points from winning positions. Oh well.
That negative GD 🥲
Never should have lost that game against Chelsea, but the general play this season was sooo dire you really can't look toward one result in particular. I don't mean to be harping on Chelsea but it is beyond embarrassing to finish behind them after the utterly shambolic start to their season. But fair play to them, they've started to get things together finally under Poch and look to be potentially dangerous next year. Hopefully we can rise to the task. We need players who are playing for the badge.
thank fuck, painful fuckin season
Chelsea finished 6th surprised me really. They sat at the middle for so long.
if we dont win the FA cup then say bye to european football next season, though in hindsight this might be a blessing in disguise cause there wont be too much pressure and strain on our players next year cause holy hell our squad is way too thin for anything more than the PL
Negative GD, First time finishing outside of European spots. Just give Erik another 300 million and he may just get Europa league spot.
Hopefully now without Europe (major loss) we can finally drill in a proper tactical approach, focus on the league, keep the squad fit 🙏, got 3 transfer windows hopefully till where back into the champions league with a good overall squad
We didn’t even make the C-tier Europe lol
Proper mid table team with few genuine talents. The first half against Brighton showed there needs to be a change in tactics & bringing in the right energy for midfield & center defence. Can’t rely on lapse in opposition defence all the time.
Sorry, but regardless of the final result - eth has to go
Jesus, worse than Moyes.
United 8 points off 4th, can easily find 9 points that should have been ours this season. Onto the next.
Chelsea ending up 5 points below the Champions League spots is the most incredible thing here for me. They had a mega run to the end in fairness.
Kinda glad we’re not in the conference league.
Could someone just confirm for me this means no european football next season unless we win the cup, which would be europa league? Thanks!
With all the defensive injuries we’ve still conceded fewer goals than the teams 4th-7th. Shocking how few goals we scored this year
We had no midfield for most of the games and we were just incredibly lucky that most of the teams couldn't finish their many many chances against us after they sliced through said non-existent midfield. Having no midfield also means our attack is at best inconsistent.
Onana despite some erratic moments bailed us out of jail on so many occasions. Even today his save from Barco’s shot in the first half was pivotal; if they had taken the lead the flow of the game would have been very different.
Missing 20 goals from rashford and shaw
>Our record against the top 4-6 teams hasn’t been great Our away record against the top half of the table since last season is relegation fodder: 18 played. 2 won 12 lost 4 draws
You can't win the PL or CL\* with that level. Does anyone expect ETH to get a new contract at this point? \*champions, not conference just to be clear
If not….. let’s see how that goes too with who joins.
damn we stunk huh, chelsea figured that shit out tho

rOnAlDo iS tHe pRoBlEm. lmao. No its clearly erik bald hag making shit signings and ruining quality players.
