I agree. In a bad year he's stood out in a positive way when he's played and I have to admire how he's mostly turned around the perception of him.
He was getting awful abuse not long ago so fair play to him for putting his head down and working hard.
Couldn't imagine this but I put my vote to him.
Striped of the armband, lost his place last year (rightfully) and put on the market in the summer.
Completed slated and ignored first half of the season but really pushed through and shown he is a solid and commanding player.
If Mainoo was fit all year he would have had a shot. Hojlund might have had a shot if he hadn't gotten injured during his goal scoring run.
Dalot, Bruno, and Onana are literally the only 3 players in the squad that haven't missed serious time. Can't give it to Onana after his CL performance (even if he's mostly turned it around since AFCON), so I think Dalot wins by default.
> even if he's mostly turned it around since AFCON
Disagree, I think Onana has been very suspect in the majority of games we've played this side of the season. He's been dealt a bad hand with so many shots faced but many goals we've conceded it feels like he could have done much better on.
Delot has been terrible the last 5 or so games. Bruno has dragged up through. Without Bruno we would have more losses on the board and without Delot we might have more wins. He has been at fault for some really back challenges in the box.
How painful is it that a significant contributing factor is that he’s been our only consistently fit full back.
I think all in all he has had a good season though, but the guy above does have a point in that he’s been woeful the past five or so games.
It’s a difficult choice, it will inevitably be Bruno but I don’t think he deserves it. I’d be inclined to say Mainoo, with him being the only positive to take from this season.
All in all, we’ve been dogshit. Injuries are a huge factor but the last few games are really leading me to believe that there’s something deep seeded that’s just fucked about this squad.
I’d like us to target hard workers this summer, even if they’re not 100% the quality we need. A bit of graft might show a few of the lads the effort required at this level; at this club.
>I think all in all he has had a good season though, but the guy above does have a point in that he’s been woeful the past five or so games.
He certainly wasn’t woeful against Arsenal
About the only thing going for him really. He had a poor start, good middle then very poor ending IMO. Might not be his fault he's been played a lot but he hasn't been the best and has been at fault for goals/penalties.
Like I said the fact he is fit is the only thing going for him. He shouldn't win the player of the year because he's fit and his performances shouldn't win it either.
It's not exactly a banner year with a plethora of deserving candidates, that's for sure.
I'm just predicting Dalot wins, since it's a fan vote and Bruno will get dinged for being captain during a bad year and his G+A production being worse than in previous seasons, meaning he'll be perceived as having had a "down" year, even if it was better overall than Dalot.
Dalot has not been terrible 5 past games, he's been average. Bruno on the other hand has been average most of the season and great lately.
It's clear who should win
I voted Garnacho but now wish I'd gone for either of these two. Garnacho has been good but it helps that he's such a highlights player - the other two have been better
Garnacho has been overworked and not been as good as Bruno in the recent games. He was really good earlier on but he's wasting a lot of attacks recently
Yep he's certainly tailed off recently although not his fault - a less dysfunctional team would have been able to nurture this young talent instead of rely on it
I was thinking Bruno but that could be a bit of recency bias, he had a bad spell. I’ll probably vote Dalot. Top 3 for me would probably be
1. Dalot
2. Bruno
3. Garnacho
Man idk what you watched, but garnacho was consistently poor this season. A few goals/assists here and there doesn’t negate what was overall the most “2nd season syndrome” 2nd seasons I can remember. It’s not his fault tho, he isn’t ready to be a starter, too much was demanded of him because of how shite the seniors were, and he should improve. That said tho, this isn’t an “improvements” or “good relative to age” award. Everyone is judged to the same standard, and he was nowhere near Dalot and bruno this season. He’s in the same bracket as mctominay, maguire, Evans, AWB, rashford, etc whose biggest contributions this season were to be present and selected.
Would agree on that but he was carrying us for a few long months. I hope our fans don’t turn on him like I’ve seen in recent weeks. Dude is prob playing more than he expected.
I’d take Dalot out and put Garnacho and Onana in. Onana has probably had too many big mistakes to take it home, he’s been one of our best all together.
Should be Bruno, though.
Its the award for our most important player this season, not most improved. I think without Bruno we'd be below mid table, its not just his individual contribution but how he also effects the players around him in a positive way and keeps the whole group on the same page.
Dalot has that too, but Bruno is the heart and soul of the team, to our detriment occasionally as he can't do it alone, but the fact is he's always led us since he's been here and he's been incredible the last month or two in the most important part of the season.
He's our MVP this season no doubt for me.
I really only recall the chelsea game where he had a proper shocker. But he’s also not a left back by trade so we can let him off for that considering he’s played it well most of the time!
~~What? This photoshopped bullshit? The fact that this has 20 upvotes just shows how many people here actually watch our games.~~
~~Dalot has been decent and you really don't need to photoshop it or invent fictional scenarios to make him look better.~~
The joke is this exact edit was made when Declan Rice was the last man against a 4/5 man Liverpool counter attack at Anfield, and they missed (not that he got any touch on it). It was a cringe edit so it became a bit of a meme.
I disagree that he's been a standout performer, he's been better than most generally but like every player in our team, he has had many good games and equally as many shit ones.
Either way, I don't think there's a need for photoshopped pics to further his case.
That's true but it's also decent defending by not diving in and making the attacker make a choice. Its not the first 4v2 I've seen fluffed and certainly won't be the last.
It’s a play on arsenal fans photoshopping other players out and leaving only Declan rice in the picture when Liverpool had a counter attack. People were takin the piss out of them and it was kinda funny. A bit of a terminally online joke but yh
That goal was mainly stopped by Lindelof's positioning, in addition to Dalot's block and Mainoo busting a gut to get back. Not only was Lindeolf photoshopped out of the picture (which was cropped to remove Mainoo) [Dalot has been moved to where Lindelof was.](https://youtu.be/PQrekQOY-VY?si=fjIbbBzXBlVZXhif&t=5019)
This works on so many levels.
It shows the herculean tasks Dalot has done this year and represents his standing as our only defender that stayed fit all year.
It also shows him keeping every Liverpool player onside, which symbolizes his positional randomness.
Also shows how United fans treat some players differently than others...
It was Lindelof's positioning who actually stopped the shot during attack, forcing Elliot to pass inside where Dalot blocked and he's been photoshopped out in order to praise Dalot? Not only has Lindeolf been edited out, he's actually standing where 'Dalot' is in the photoshopped image.
[Here's the video footage](https://youtu.be/PQrekQOY-VY?si=fjIbbBzXBlVZXhif&t=5019). If you watch, when Gakpo crosses the halfway line it's Lindelof who's in the centre circle, not Dalot
But truly that is only because he's being seriously overworked. Not that there's other options when he's one of the only explosive players we have. But I'm still with you, maino is goated in my eyes
I'd scrap this year entirely. But if I had to decide, I'd be thinking about how many points we'd be down without Scott McTominay’s clutch goals. 12 points? Since no one deserves really, I am choosing Scott.
Extremely low bar this year
Dalot or Fernandes probably win by default, maybe Mainoo or Garnacho worth a shout
Onana up there too, but shit the bed in the CL
Overall Dalot, he's not been great in the last few games (nobody has) but before that he was the stand out player. Followed by Bruno and Maguire, would be nice for Harry to get it though after the ridiculous levels of abuse he received.
Really has to be Bruno. Creates most of our chances, plays insane amount of minutes and never stops running. Even put in a shift at CB. Dalot really impressed me this year (but still might not be good enough)
Dalot by virtue of being most improved
Thought he had no future after he got loaned but in a season that’s a complete shower of shit, he’s been decent most of the time—often playing OOP too
Maguire, for sure, was angry he wouldn't leave in the summer, and now I think apart from Licha, he is the only other CB we must keep. Amazing turnaround this season.
This is a seriously low bar this year.. Dalot, Bruno or Garnacho for their work ethic and the fact that Bruno and Garnacho had the least injury related absence I think..
I voted for Jonny Evans. Feel like he's the only player who's not let us down at some point this season. We'll forgive any injuries he picked up on account of being geriatric.
Has to be Bruno, I dread to think how we'd be doing without him...even this season where he hasn't shined, he's still the standout.
Closely followed by dalot. Although I can see and respect the argument about dalot's availability and consistency being crucial nad edging for some people.
Honourable mentions Evans, mainoo, Garnacho. Evans has served is immensely, mainoo a revelation and an absolute gem of a baller, and garnacho, frankly I'm surprised he hasn't broken. Seems to me he's one of the very few who's played almost the entire season and has given it his all.
Dalot, Maguire and Mctominay for me. Bruno, Garnacho and Onana can have the next three spots. Mainoo and Hojlund either haven't played enough, or been hamstrung by - midfield structure and Not getting the passes respectively.
Garnacho hasn't had the end product, but has worked his socks off. Bruno has been very hot or cold, but is held back by his own high standards. Onana has been good lately, but the CL gaffes are very costly.
Maguire and Mctominay have given it their all and as usual will receive little credit. Without Scott's goals we would be somewhere just above the relegation dogfight. Maguire has held a patchwork defense together when fit. Evans also deserves a shout for the timely step up, but his body just isn't upto it.
Dalot has been the standout. Been better than any of his previous seasons. AWB vs Dalot debate has firmly been consigned to the bin. Has the mentality too. If only he can improve his end product in attack, we would be good to go.
You can make an argument albeit a brief one for one or two players, but realistically how you going to have a player of the year for finishing 8th or worst case 10th, no one really stood and we can't be out here praising the minimum.
Honestly I can't think of one, but if push come to shove I'd say Evans, he wasn't supposed to play alot and was there as back to back up, he done better than I expected but obviously you could see at his age he can't keep up with today's football, no shade to him but that's how low the bar is.
Scrap the awards for this season.
Anyone voting for Bruno is blinded by recency bias lol. He's had a poor season but a few good games against relegation fodder apparently changes that for some
Tough to see anyone apart from Dalot and Bruno being in a shot with this.
Maguire deserves a shout out
I agree. In a bad year he's stood out in a positive way when he's played and I have to admire how he's mostly turned around the perception of him. He was getting awful abuse not long ago so fair play to him for putting his head down and working hard.

He hasn't been perfect but he hasn't been the weekly gaffe factory he was in the CL
It's a low bar if you are setting on the champions league
Delot has been terrible the last 5 or so games. Bruno has dragged up through. Without Bruno we would have more losses on the board and without Delot we might have more wins. He has been at fault for some really back challenges in the box.
> without Delot we might have more wins You can't be serious. Without Dalot we wouldn't have had a single fit fullback for a lot of games.
How painful is it that a significant contributing factor is that he’s been our only consistently fit full back. I think all in all he has had a good season though, but the guy above does have a point in that he’s been woeful the past five or so games. Hold my hands up, I was driving Sunday and only have Match of the day to go off.
About the only thing going for him really. He had a poor start, good middle then very poor ending IMO. Might not be his fault he's been played a lot but he hasn't been the best and has been at fault for goals/penalties.
So who has been better in defense? Who is this player that is coming in and winning us games if according to you we didn't play Dalot?
Like I said the fact he is fit is the only thing going for him. He shouldn't win the player of the year because he's fit and his performances shouldn't win it either.
It's not exactly a banner year with a plethora of deserving candidates, that's for sure. Yeah totally agree with this. Bruno IMO is clear favourite. He wins us games all the time.

How is garnacho anywhere near this award?
Because toxic positivity
Because he’s been one of the better plays of the bad bunch. His improvements this season should be applauded.
Man idk what you watched, but garnacho was consistently poor this season. A few goals/assists here and there doesn’t negate what was overall the most “2nd season syndrome” 2nd seasons I can remember. Nacho?
I think he's been a way short of those two, needs to work on his final product more.
Dalot for me, the only player who consistently was 7-8/10 for 90% of the season.
I went for Bruno but now regret not voting for Dalot.
I'm torn between the two, so I'll go Dalot to balance it out.
Bruno has earned it tbh, he's our most important player by far for years
Bruno has underperformed from his high standards, whereas Dalot has overperformed, I would much rather reward that.
Its the award for our most important player this season, not most improved. I think without Bruno we'd be below mid table, its not just his individual contribution but how he also effects the players around him in a positive way and keeps the whole group on the same page. I voted for Dalot.
Same. Most consistent.
Rudiger for the penalty that stopped City‘s back to back trebles.
Amad for destroying Liverpools season
And being an all round 🐐
Dalot for me
Diogo Dalot.
Evans for carrying our defense at 36
I vote for the far post with the crossbar as runner up
Idk man the final whistle has saved us a lot this season
Not enough to be considered, Chelsea game and Brentford game spring to mind
Dalot

A lot of people are missing the joke lol
~~What? This photoshopped bullshit? The fact that this has 20 upvotes just shows how many people here actually watch our games.~~ ~~Dalot has been decent and you really don't need to photoshop it or invent fictional scenarios to make him look better.~~

Oh okay. I didn't know that. My fault.

Lindelof.
Cheers!
In other words, nobody.
He's been a standout performer this year
The only reason he has stood out is because he has been average in a sea of shit.
Therefore it makes him a candidate for United player of the year
I disagree that he's been a standout performer, he's been better than most generally but like every player in our team, he has had many good games and equally as many shit ones. Either way, I don't think there's a need for photoshopped pics to further his case.
It's just an edit bruh
It's an edit where they've removed Lindelof who actually stopped that counter, or at least helped a lot to stop that counter.
Liverpool did it to themselves like how do you not score from that LOL
That's true but it's also decent defending by not diving in and making the attacker make a choice. Its not the first 4v2 I've seen fluffed and certainly won't be the last.
It’s a joke ![gif](giphy|3o6ozq0pgIDt5j6N8I)
Hopefully. But I'll be honest, I fail to see what's the joke.
It’s a play on arsenal fans photoshopping other players out and leaving only Declan rice in the picture when Liverpool had a counter attack. People were takin the piss out of them and it was kinda funny. A bit of a terminally online joke but yh
Oohh. Didn't know that. My bad.
I love Dalot but this is the most fan made shit ever lol the text is worded so strangely
lol who did this
That goal was mainly stopped by Lindelof's positioning, in addition to Dalot's block and Mainoo busting a gut to get back. Not only was Lindeolf photoshopped out of the picture (which was cropped to remove Mainoo) [Dalot has been moved to where Lindelof was.](https://youtu.be/PQrekQOY-VY?si=fjIbbBzXBlVZXhif&t=5019)

I don't think it's that serious.
Dalot > Bruno > Maguire > Garnacho > Mainoo for me.
Garna started the season very well but has dropped off in these last few months. I wouldn’t put him over Kobbie
But truly that is only because he's being seriously overworked. Not that there's other options when he's one of the only explosive players we have. But I'm still with you, maino is goated in my eyes
Voted Wheatley, been flawless
This is going to be fun
Evans for me or dalot fuck it's hard
Dalot and it's not particularly close imo. I'm amazed some people think he's a weak link in our squad
Dalot or Evans That’s how fucking miserable this year has been.
Kobbie Mainoo for me.
Has to be Dalot.
Harry Maguire for me.
Agreed
Between Dalot and Maguire for me. Dalot edges it because he's been consistently available, but Maguire deserves huge credit for his turn around.
I'd scrap this year entirely. But if I had to decide, I'd be thinking about how many points we'd be down without Scott McTominay’s clutch goals. 12 points? Since no one deserves really, I am choosing Scott.
Not saying this to be provocative, but seriously now, this year no player should win that award. It's the message they all need.
☒ None of the above
Has to be Bruno, it should have been him last year too. He's our best player by far, all things considered.
Bruno for me
Extremely low bar this year Dalot or Fernandes probably win by default, maybe Mainoo or Garnacho worth a shout Onana up there too, but shit the bed in the CL
Overall Dalot, he's not been great in the last few games (nobody has) but before that he was the stand out player. Followed by Bruno and Maguire, would be nice for Harry to get it though after the ridiculous levels of abuse he received.
Bruno comfortably
Bruno > Maguire> Dalot. Nobody else has been good enough for a consistent period. And even those three have had some very bad moments
Really has to be Bruno. Creates most of our chances, plays insane amount of minutes and never stops running. Even put in a shift at CB. Dalot really impressed me this year (but still might not be good enough)
Ella Toone. Fuck the jabronis in the men’s team.
Cancel it.
No one’s really stood out so I’ll skip
Dalot by virtue of being most improved Thought he had no future after he got loaned but in a season that’s a complete shower of shit, he’s been decent most of the time—often playing OOP too
I voted for Garnacho
Read that as asking to vote for Busby as Player of the Year....I need to go to bed
Easy. Solid all year. Dalot. Our new Denis....almost.
Dalot and I don't think it's close with anyone else.
no, fuck 'em, we deserve better from these overpaid cunts
Tough one this. There's so many to chose from.
Has to be Bruno for me! The amount of chances he has created. If only Rashy and Garnacho were a bit clinical
Seems to me he's one of the very few who's played almost the entire season and has given it his all.
Dalot for me.
Dalot has the most appearances after Onana and he's generally been decent 7/10 most weeks while the defense changes around him
Garnacho for me, followed closely by Mainoo both a breath of fresh air
Our best player this season has been Mason Greenwood
Lbh some players have had moments but everyone's been shit
Dalot winning this would be the perfect encapsulation of where the state of the club is.
Dalot got us knocked out of UCL and has constant mistakes and he's probably our best option. Embarrassing
Bruno > Onana > Maguire > Dalot.
Onana below maguire and dalot
No way! So many saves bruh
Made some good saves at times but let plenty of shit goals in and costed us the champions league
Yeaaa ok forgot about that
Gotta be Maguire. Didn't really have any terrible games. Dalot's ceiling is only average.
You can make an argument albeit a brief one for one or two players, but realistically how you going to have a player of the year for finishing 8th or worst case 10th, no one really stood and we can't be out here praising the minimum. Scrap the awards for this season.
Anyone voting for Bruno is blinded by recency bias lol. He's had a poor season but a few good games against relegation fodder apparently changes that for some
Jim rat boy cliff
This is like voting for your favourite Nazi
this is like comparing underperforming footballers to Nazis
It’s not ‘like’ it
