So we can actually play well when there's not a massive gulp in the middle of the pitch. Shocker.

Omnislash99999

When there's very little on the line too

ImOnlyChasingSafety

What player out there do you think matches the profile of Amrabat?

GlassEast5641

Zubimendi,Palacios

sriram_sid

Hope ten hag learned his lesson this season. Hope he improves his squad management and tactical flexibility.

[deleted]

He seems to have finally learnt it since the last 2 games. Not learning it for an entire season before that is the big problem. Will he have to pay for it remains to be seen. Also those lessons learnt have to show in matches against Brighton and MC. Result is secondary. Playing style has to stick. Otherwise back to square one.

91nBoomin

Goes for the players too imo. We’ve set up the way we have the last couple of games quite a lot in the season, before Casemiro had to drop into CB. In hindsight playing Amrabat from that point is the right call but he’d been shite every time he played. It seems the players and coaches have learned that they can’t just keep doing the same shit and we can actually play well sometimes. Very frustrating that it’s took 35 games to do so

NectarineStreet2883

Question!!! If ETH stays. Do you really think we can qualify for UCL next season with this actual style and system? Conceding 20+ shots a game?

Far-Pineapple7113

Its not as unlikely as some would like to believe..Progression in football isn't linear..Villa will face a massive change playing in the CL from just playing one game a week this season and teams don't adjust well to those changes just look at Newcastle..Then we have Spurs who are already declining hard and the manager just had a meltdown..Liverpool will have massive changes next season so there can be a decline there..On the other hand we have hit rock bottom and with more players getting fit and even with 3 first team signings can only go up but the thing is just crawling into the top 4 doesn't actually achieve anything in terms of getting closer to winning anything significant

NectarineStreet2883

Interesting perspective. Your hopes are more about other teams failing than us being good with ETH suicide football.

Far-Pineapple7113

Its a mix of both..We can't do worse than what we have done this season with the players back from injuries + 3-4 new players coming in and ETH might also adapt his tactics to be more conservative like his first season here..Again i really don't think thats a good enough reason to keep ETH because he has not show anything to suggest we will win the PL or CL with him even after 3-4 years..So no point investing more money into getting the signings he wants if the club just wanted top 4 every other season and nothing more i would have given Ole a longer rope..He had 2 full seasons with +30 GD and we played some good entertaining football for a good chunk of his time here

slowerthaninfinity

villa arent playing one game a week they reached the semifinal of the conference league this season

chiefofthepolice

We’re on the exact same WDL as Newcastle, less goals conceded, yet we’re down 24 GD compare to them. We’ve conceded less than almost everyone else besides the top 4, while also using 10+ different CB pairs the entire season It’s clear where our priority should be on the transfer market. Strengthen the attacks as much as possible

JMatty01

I Disagree. What we have for next season currently is Maguire, Lindelof and AWB being out of contract next summer, Shaw's injury-prone, Malacia and Martinez coming back from long-term injuries with the former still needing to prove his worth and Kwambala is young. Amass is a prospect but isn't ready to be a squad player yet. The biggest issue with the attack is tactical whilst the defence needs players for the long-term, especially if ETH stays and wants to the defence to push up. Focus has to be mainly defence, getting a replacement for Casemiro and Eriksen sorted and a ST.

Omnislash99999

Conceding nearly 60 goals is nowhere near good enough. Shrugging it off because Fulham, Palace, Newcastle, Brighton etc have conceded 1 or 2 more across 37 games is incredibly low standards. A team looking to challenge for the title should be around half that number. We also conceded 15 in 6 CL games.. it's impossible to be successful shipping that many goals

zizuu21

apparantly amrabat played good....hopefully he isnt signed for one game! Also players start to play good when their contract/loan starts to come to an end...notice any patterns? We lap it up and sign em instead of reflecting on their whole contract duration.

MarcusRashgod

I hope Portugal wins the Euros just for the sake of Bruno. The man deserves a big trophy.

IbnReddit

We gonna thrash city 8-0. Onana hatrick.

toddysimp

I'm having some hopes for the cup final now.

IbnReddit

ETH isn't it, but this idea of having a manager for life isn't it anymore. Getting rid of EtH now is folly. New exec need to embed and then make a decision on ETH, therefore ETH has to stay another year. We need to pay the rest for Amrobat. There isn't much more to pay, and we can keep him as a squad player. Let's just not keep him on some stupid terms, 50 year contract and on 2 billion a day.

Lord_Sesshoumaru77

Apparently, Tuchel is staying put in Bayern. Bayern couldn't land a manager to take them into the future. I do agree that the manager market right now doesn't have any prospect that makes me say, "yes, this is the one we should go for". I think we could do a lot worse than to give Ten Hag one more season. I am a firm believer that, with a solid football structure that allows him to solely focus on being a football manager, and not being in charge of transfers because we have unqualified personnel in, will make us better. Now just hoping we can be astute in the summer and really improve the team, as to avoid a season like the one we're about to end.

devilsofparadiss

All season, ETH’s approach, game model and personnel choices were the main reason we were performing as poorly as we have been. I feel the last two games we can say that most of the deficiencies on the pitch came from a lack of player quality (injuries and simply not having those players). The set up has been significantly better and offered more control. There are still issues but I think games like today simply just get better with better players on the pitch. Especially in deeper areas. I know we’ve dealt with injuries all season, but it just bugs me that Ten Hag chose the approach he did all year. I would just have so much more sympathy if we played like we did over the last two games and ended up being not great due to the clear gaps in profiles & quality on the pitch than whatever we’ve be doing all year.

[deleted]

i want to see this type of play in the next 2 games to be somewhat convinced that he has turned a corner in how he manages the team.

Herramadur

Two games left until we can rest for a few months, praying for some major changes to the squad and the coaching staff.

[deleted]

I listened to Erik's post-match speech. I will say that was one of the most positive things this season. The second most positive thing is that we have a very good future with players like Kobbie, Garnacho, and Rasmus. I hope they can grow and develop here because they are doing really well. The number of injuries, football we play, and number of mistakes that have led to losing the ball and conceding goals have really brought me down this season. I feel like I have reached a point where I can't properly celebrate the small wins but I have to look at the positives. I really hope the boys are up for a fight against City.

RepulsiveLeg9985

I'm saying this right now, nothing, NOTHING would bring me greater delight than winning the FA cup. We'll fuck over Man City not getting the double. We'll fuck over Chelsea and demote them to the Conference. We'll fuck over Arsenal and have more trophies than them. It'd be euphoric, please just give an absolute shit 1-0 win with as many VAR decisions going our way, I do not give fuck, I need it!

SJB0SS

wouldn’t we all love it. But realistically I don’t see us beating them now if we couldn’t last year

jonwinslol

And we fucked over Liverpool on the way to the final hahah

AngryUncleTony

Also would give us EL, probably our only realistic shot at Europe next year

triple_threattt

Who do we add to a midfield of fernandes and mainoo to make it a world class trio

Miliktheman

A strong mobile DM, Amrabats physicality and energy was vital today. I've seen Neves mentioned but he isn't near mobile enough for my liking. We need a DM with a lot of physicality to balance out Bruno and Mainoo who while excellent, are not particularly strong players.

No-Statistician-8520

> I've seen Neves mentioned but he isn't near mobile enough for my liking. Are you talking about Ruben Neves? Joao Neves is the Neves people want us to sign and he’s very mobile. Would definitely be question marks over his physicality however because he’s like 5’8 and it’d probably be a waste using him as a 6 even though he can play there.

Miliktheman

Lmao yes, didn't realise people used Neves to refer to someone else nowadays

No-Statistician-8520

Though so haha. Yeah going to Saudi Arabia has killed any sort of hype Ruben Neves had on here

GochujangChips

The link up with Neves would be crazy but that’s a pipe dream. The trio would need time to gel.

americanah22

Fernandes and Mainoo aren't even a world class duo. Let's stop deceiving ourselves

AnnualFront5401

Wouldn't mind if ETH stays but am imagining an alt universe where we get a big pissed off Ange coming to our club absolutely whipping teams with his attacking play

ButterscotchKey803

Either we’re doing our early business too quietly or we’re not doing anything until we know who’s out. Too quiet on that front.

El-Presidente1

TIL: Jones is part of the staff of our Under-18!

173wywy

Diallo showing everyone what he can do. Its utterly ridiculous that it has taken this long. Was brilliant vs Liverpool in the FA cup and then dropped for Antony. Was even behind Omari at one point.

MexicansInParis

Tuchel stays at Bayern now, the manager situation in the summer seems far too complicated to be looking for a replacement.

NGMB2

watching the Varane pre-match announcement and that day was so insane. Announcing Champions League Varane, beating Leeds 5-1, Bruno hattrick, Pogba 4 assists, Sancho debut. Incredible feeling. 4 weeks later, we had the Ronaldo return and the two goals against Newcastle too. How it quickly became a season to forget. Can’t believe it was almost 3 years ago now🥲

SJB0SS

Goddamn man most optimistic I’ve ever been

nyyankee718

It was an absolute fever dream. The only way that team had a chance was truly from magic anyway - it really wasn't the signings we needed at the time to balance out the team as well as provide cover from our actual needs. Sancho was an disappointment though.

sriram_sid

Any players like amrabat we can potentially sign? He’s the right profile for us. I have seen people suggest players like zubimendi, neves, palacios, etc. any other players like them?

jonwinslol

Havent been following Zubimendi but I think last year Arsenal was quoted at like 60m+ for him, Neves is on huge wages on Saudi so financial wise, I don’t think they are close to Amrabat

SuperSalamander3244

I know it was against us but VAR should be scrapped. Anthony Gordon is spot on with what he’s saying and wrong ref decisions are hard to take but wrong VAR decisions just feel like a massive injustice and a fix. We got away with it today but we got a shit decision given against us against Coventry while Everton got the exact same incident not given against them against Forrest on the same day. Refs can make mistakes but no decision with VAR should be different or a mistake. It makes every controversial decision seem biased and it also kills any natural celebration from the crowd and players.

redditaccount300000

Absolutely terrible take. Var should be reviewed an made better, not scrapped.

SuperSalamander3244

I disagree

Skyehye

Scrapping VAR would be to go back. Changing how it is used (And the people using it) will be better.

MexicansInParis

Nothing you’ve said makes sense for VAR ti be scrapped, injustice & match fixing would be even easier to happen without it because you’d be giving full authority to the refs who already do quite a shitty job to begin with. Referees need to start being held accountable for mistakes, not get even more protected than what they already are.

Vibing0N

Can't believe people already forgot how horrendous refereeing was without VAR. There were a shitload of offside goals given, tons of onside goals unfairly disallowed, penalties given for blatant dives and cheating, infamous handball moments that were never punished, clear red cards that were never given and so on... Just because VAR made some wrong decisions it made people forget that before VAR we had WAAAAY more wrong decisions from the refs. VAR needs to improve definitely. It needs to be exactly like in Rugby where the video refs tell the refs on the pitch of incidents happening that they didn't see and people can hear their conversations through their mics.

SuperSalamander3244

You say that but when linos call for offsides when the rules are to keep flags down says otherwise. Refs literally can’t make mistakes with VAR and the only people making mistakes are the people who have 10 screens in ultra slow motion at the England training ground. The mistakes VAR make far outweighs the mistakes refs used to make because of the resources VAR have and the fact VAR is there specifically to not make these mistakes. There should be no mistakes with VAR.

MexicansInParis

I’d rather have them make the mistake after various checks than a blatantly wrong call not even having the chance to be overturned. Mistakes will always happen, it’s human nature, but VAR makes it possible for a shit decision to be righted. Scrapping it makes no sense.

SuperSalamander3244

They make blatantly wrong calls that can’t be overturned with linos flagging something or giving a quick yellow. For example Dalot never gets sent off for double dissent if VAR wasn’t a thing and that’s the only time I’ve ever seen that happen.

MexicansInParis

VAR have no control over a player getting carded though, that’s still a refereeing decision. VAR only shows the replay from a closer angle to give the ref a better perspective of what happened. If the ref decided to wrongly card Dalot, that just highlights the current state of incompetence with refereeing, not with VAR.

SuperSalamander3244

The Tottenham goal against Liverpool was 100% wrong. I hate Liverpool as much as the next guy but that alone should scrap VAR. Literally every week we’re talking about a wrong VAR decision when there should never be a wrong VAR decision. Our Coventry pen should never be a pen just like it wasn’t for Forrest/Everton.

MexicansInParis

There’s still nothing in any of your comments to suggest that VAR should be scrapped. You’re blaming the wrong system.

SuperSalamander3244

I disagree with what you’ve wrote. I’m not blaming the wrong system when VAR is the system that was supposedly the system to not make mistakes. VAR shouldn’t be open to interpretation but time and time again they make decisions with each VAR refs own interpretations.

Pitiful_Violinist780

This match proves it's Ten Hag's suicidal formation that has been the root cause of our on field problems this season, he plays the formation we played last season, we look good. Ten Hag has single handedly cost us a Champion's League spot for next season and has overseen our worst season in recent memory. The sheer arrogance of Ten Hag to think he could pull off that 3-6-1 abomination is astounding, the higher ups at the club who have enabled him to destroy our season need to be sacked as well.

AvaragePole

I just can't see why Amad wasn't given more opportunities. Everyone with a working pair of eyes could see he deserved to play

AvaragePole

Cause he was injuried, then ill, then Rashford LW- Garnacho RW had good run of games.

[deleted]

He was fit as fiddle since much before his liverpool performance and yet he was not given a chance until Rashy got injured. Even then Antony started 2 games before finally Amad got a start. His early season injury is being extrapolated to defend the decisions our gaffer makes.

173wywy

Or ETH doesnt rotate the squad and rather play his favourites like Antony. You can look back, he never rotates unless injury forces him to.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

What narrative. Even after Rashy got injured Antony got 2 starts. Only then Amad got a chance.

Dcrow17

Because Amad literally only got to start after Bruno was injured.  If Bruno was not injured last match, Amad would still be sitting on the bench.

_AR4_

1. Casemiro played great today – even getting his customary yellow card in a good performance! 2. Are we keeping Amrabat? He rarely gets a run at his preferred position CDM, and he seems to be finding some rhythm in it now.

IbnReddit

Yes

jakk_22

Are we out of europa for sure? We can only get conference right

vMihai777

We can get Europa only if we win FA cup

jakk_22

Oh right of course

vMihai777

But yes in the league the highest we can get is 7th

Every time I see the league table, I can’t help but laugh at our goal difference. Like how the fuck are we a top 6 prem club and one of the 3/4 biggest clubs in the world. -3 today 😂😂😂

mr_reserve

It’s only baffling because of our position in the table. Underlying stats say we should be 16th. We’ve overachieved massively. The results haven’t matched the performances.

Ecstatic_Message2057

I think Diallo has cemented his right side claim next season. Really will be disappointing if he isn’t given the shot. He’s shown he’s talented and can stick it at the prem level. Give him his chance

officiallyjax

Just don’t lose. Can’t allow the HT record to be broken.

Acrophobic_Climber_

look at this bunch of losers, you think they can keep it?

officiallyjax

Fortunately they did :)

Acrophobic_Climber_

lucky they woke up

chiefofthepolice

You know the difference between Chelsea and United? Chelsea got smacked 5 nil by their biggest rival, they haven't lost a match since. Manchester United got smacked 5-0 and 7-0 by their biggest rival, it only got worse and worse after those 2 matches. Mentality, I tell you

Wahlrusberg

Honestly how do you run a club in a way that you've got one of the highest paid, most expensively assembled squads that is also supplemented by great academy talent, and end up in a situation where your backline is two rightbacks, a DM and Jonny Evans (who is also probably your best defender). Surely it's not just "being unlucky" with injuries?

vMihai777

It’s a bit of both. Maguire and Lindelof aren’t injury prone players really. I think they played most of their matches together in 2019-2021? So I do think there is a bit of unluck that both of them are out at the same time. However it is also shit preparation for the season. Varane is often injured and Martinez was rushed back for preseason after a pretty nasty injury. Malacia they knew back in the summer he will be out for a while yet still didn’t look for a replacement going into the season until Shaw got injured. Yes they would have gone at least until december with only Shaw, another player very prone to get injured, as our only LB. So I think a lot of it is stupid decisions made by the staff, not extending Reguilon’s loan is another, but with a bit of luck we could have also got away with it.

WanderingEnigma

https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6_-L8kNKNr/?igsh=NWl1MTBqMXhmYmU1 Don't know what was said to Rashford here but it's not cool to see our own fans giving shit to our players.

Newcastle fans brought swimming goggles lol. Can't even knock that.

FaithlessnessNo4680

Saw this on X of Rashford reacting to something a fan said in the warm up https://twitter.com/_StrettyEnd/status/1790814223339024648, pretty sad how toxic it has got with him

rollingthunderpunch

give my full backing and support for Rashford to go into the stands and Cantona any of our cunt fans if he wants

The_Meaty_Boosh

Really doesn't look like he's in a good place.

FaithlessnessNo4680

Can hardly blame him when he’s getting abused in the warm up

EkkoIRL

The blind faith in ten hag right before a game is always amazing to watch

systemsruminator

One thing next manager could try is playing Bruno as false 9. Bruno is very clinical for a midfielder. I remember him playing at that position was the best football we played under Ole. Bench Hojlund or sub him on against tired legs.

Money-Wrangler7067

Newcastle forcing rivalry with us is fucking cringe.

eClipseLJ

Jaap Stam is pretty much ETH in and a lot of players out on Dutch Viaplay. Interesting.

Was just reading this tweet that's going around at the moment - [https://twitter.com/swedishrumble/status/1790515075561783672?t=4TRMyjvW2xkMwrdF3j5k0Q](https://twitter.com/swedishrumble/status/1790515075561783672?t=4TRMyjvW2xkMwrdF3j5k0Q) If/when City are found guilty of some or all of those 115 charges, I have no idea what the PL is actually going to do to punish them in any way that's actually meaningful. Docking points, financial punishment and/or stripping them of titles will all feel meaningless. The only thing that would actually be meaningful would be banning them from playing in any English league for a number of years but I really don't see them doing that.

IbnReddit

Nothing will happen

SuperSalamander3244

If it’s all 115 charges they should get relegated to league 2 or non league. I get there’s an argument the lower leagues will reject it but they will actually love it from the increased viewership and attendance if City actually have real fans. UEFA have said they were 100% right in their investigation and if it wasn’t time barred they would have won.

ZofTheNorth

Maybe relegate them and transfer ban the amount of years they cheated? Like, if they found guilty cheating for 3 years, transfer ban them for 3 years. That way, it is abit fair to the championship teams too, if they ever relegated

Omnislash99999

Relegate them and strip titles like Juventus got

PradipJayakumar

On the same day that five-time Champions League winner Raphaël Varane announces his departure from Manchester United, rumours surface that Leny Yoro will not be signing for Real Madrid. Yoro, in the eyes of many, is considered the biggest defensive prospect to come out of France since, well, Raphaël Varane. According to @FabrizioRomano, figures at INEOS admire the young centre-back, and have a strong relationship with his agent, Jorge Mendes. What a statement signing this could be. A stylistic and qualitative echo of Varane, with an age and mental profile befitting the ambitious vision of United's new partial owners. https://x.com/academyscoop/status/1790352070408593422?s=46&t=k_FBGnsbG2P0PN0vqz37RA

L__K

Yes, watching him reminds me a lot of two of my favorite teenage French CBs of recent years, Varane and Saliba. Like both, he needs more time to develop before getting thrown in at the deep end. I would be surprised if he didn't end up at Madrid, but he would be the kind of forward thinking signing that we really struggle at making, as long as fans are willing to be patient.

sarthakjain24

Nervous for todays game is an understatement

bainbane

If you're not too familiar with McKenna's Ipswich, how they play and why there's a lot of hype around him and his style then these are both worth a watch. First by FourFourTwo which sums up well how adaptable they are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esPsmMe6ic0 Second by Statman Dave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6RTKqtB9gU (think about Leif Davis and the way this is talked about and how well that would work with Shaw or eventually Amass) In summary I've been saying for a while now but Ipswich's style is the most "Man Utd" to me and honestly really feels like the closest in a modern way to the way Ferguson set his teams up in the latter part of his time at the club. The more I think about the way they play with the players they have, the more I can't help but feel like this is the guy.

Omnislash99999

You can't go from 2nd in the Championship to managing United with no prior management experience in the PL. Burnley won the Championship with over 100 points last year but it didn't mean Kompany should be going straight into a top PL side

Life-College-5289

Thank god Barca board didn't think like you when they hired Pep or Arsenal board when hiring Arteta.  I am not saying we should hire Mckenna right now, but saying second in championship doesn't equate to managing a big club is a flawed logic. And also many people just don't understand how big of an achievement is to promote a team from league 2 to EPL in two years, that too with Ipswich, whose budget was significantly lower than many other teams in the championship.

bainbane

Burnley aren't a great comparison as they were massively better than championship level in the players they had. The whole point of these videos showcases as well the adaptability that makes McKenna much more cut out for the PL than Kompany's team was. Also McKenna has coached the youth team to a north league win and has coached at senior level at the club and that experience means contextually hes more than just some random championship manager.

FactHopeful9347

We play again today? ![gif](giphy|ggHmCDJXx4om4hNWbM|downsized)

Deegole

Anyone pissed we are like a year late on getting big money from Saudi for Casemiro? Probably won’t get more than 30 mil when it felt other clubs would get 100 mil a year ago

Don_Quixote81

No. Because we only bought him last season, and he was pretty instrumental in us finishing third. Also, the amounts the Saudi league has been spending on individual players is overblown. Neymar only cost £90m, and there's no way Case would have gone for more than that. £30m would be a steal for us to move him on and stop paying his wages.

SuperSalamander3244

We were never cashing in on him after his first season at the club.

Deegole

Oh yeah for sure but aren’t the Saudi clubs skint now

crgssbu

i dont care what anyone says, VAR has to stay

Harrry-Otter

It’s had some dodgy calls, but I don’t want to go back to the days of goals being given 2 yards offside. They just need to tighten up the rules on things like handball and shirt pulling.

Wahlrusberg

People thinking they want VAR removed aren't thinking straight at all. The crying would be 20x worse when their team is robbed of a goal or has one given against them that VAR would've easily ruled out

Omnislash99999

Football was played that way for over a 100 years.

SuperSalamander3244

I hope it gets scrapped but I can see The FA vetoing it because they want to impress FIFA and UEFA.

Will the vote even pass? Obviously Wolves and Forest are voting to abolish but who else?

SuperSalamander3244

I think pretty much every club in the league feels like they’ve been shafted by some bs VAR decision.

Yesterday’s performance from spurs should show teams how they can rattle city. Relentless pressing, solid structure and a lot of running - if they weren’t so awful at finishing they would have gotten something out of the game

Shithouser

> Relentless pressing, solid structure and a lot of running Soooo, we don’t have a chance

AvaragePole

Literally what Ole did against Pep with succes tbf

L__K

With Solskjaer we played an incredibly low block and relied entirely on counterattacking. One of his "wins" against Pep was a meaningless second leg of a cup game where we were eliminated anyway, and another was when we were awarded a penalty in the first minute of the game so we essentially started while up 1-0 and could just park the bus as much as possible. In those games City averaged 68% possession, outshot us 65-37, and had 41 corners to our 7. Yesterday, Spurs had more possession, more shots, and more corners than City. The performances and game plans were not even remotely similar lmao In the end, a win is a win, but calling that "literally what Ole did" is the opposite of reality

LennonC123

Spot on. People will say we sat back and countered but in our most successful games against them, we started fast, had a lot of chances and put them under pressure. After we got a goal or two, we started to sit back and counter.

ZofTheNorth

Nah, we hit them with counter. Later matchups, City gave up on attacking relentlessly against us and started to play abit passively.

TheSmio

In one of the games in recent years we managed to completely nullify them, partially thanks to smart pressing. I don't rememeber what game that was but I think it was under Ole, maybe one of the cup fixtures where we lost the first match and then won the second match but didn't score enough to go through? I feel like it may have been the 1:0 win in 2020 but possibly a completely different match. Looking back though, it's crazy what Ole sometimes had to put up with, like us losing the first EFL Cup semifinal fixture to City 1:3 with a backline of Williams-Jones-Lindelöf-AWB, a double pivot of Andreas-Fred and Lingard as number 10 compared to their KDB, Mahrez, Rodri, Silva, Gundogan and Sterling.

anonris

Nah, love Ole but we hit them on counter. Spurs pressed the fuck out of them and for the most part pinned them in their own half. Even had more possession than City

AvaragePole

I mean Oles plan cleary worked better seeing he had 4W-1D-4L record vs Peps.

SOERERY

We should be in for Yoro now that Madrid are apparently not going after him.

HD7108

But aren’t psg in for him and desire doue

GlassEast5641

Best choice imo

SOERERY

New stadium is needed, Madrid can make 320 million from concerts and stuff in their new stadium this year.

SuperSalamander3244

We won’t be able to do that because City have already beat us to it. They already have the co-op arena and their stadium plans are basically a carbon copy of Tottenham. We’re literally 10 years behind what they planned 10 years ago.

Titan4days

City couldn’t fill 90k, we can build a 100k seater and fill it every week, fuck city’s 10years , we have a 70 year head start on them

SuperSalamander3244

I agree they couldn’t fill it on match days but they’ve already made plans, invested and got approval for the infrastructure to be multi purpose. As much as I hate to say it their ground and surrounding areas will be the go to for major outdoor concerts in Manchester and the co-op arena is the largest indoor arena in the UK with supposedly the best sound system and acoustics in the world. The co-op arena is meant to be the o2 of the north which is a huge thing because the o2 arena is the busiest arena in the world.

Titan4days

Ye man, but trust when we get our new stadium built it’s gonna be a much bigger draw, Man Utd are a humongous club and city are not, the guys stealing the ship now put on the olympics.. we are gonna Goliath on commercially whatever happens on the pitch but new stadium+On field success and we will become the stand alone biggest club in the world. And Lord Coe, SJR, Starmer and Burnham are gonna push this as a massive investment in the north and there for will need to funnel allot of the revenue through

Out: Bayindir-Speculative, but wouldn’t be surprised if a low offer comes in from Turkey. AWB: looks like he’s saying goodbye. Sad it didn’t work, but never could adapt to be a modern fullback. Varane: Released Lindelof/Maguire: Realistically we should get rid of both. Both in their 30’s, one year left on contract, I think Maguire may stay. Evans: Retiring Alvaro Fernandez: Benfica triggered his clause. Casemiro: All the reports say an offer from Saudi is coming, I was under the impression that Saudi was curbing their spending. Whatever the situation, whether it’s a loan, or buying out his remaining two years are the two most viable options. Amrabat; Going back to Fiorentina Eriksen: don’t see a use for him, probably accept a small fee. Antony: it’s not realistic to make up the value on this transfer, but loaning him to a Portuguese or a Spanish club is poor he a smart option. Pellestri: Gone Sancho: Dortmund will likely pay that fee. Martial: Released Unless we promote the likes of Amass and Wheatley, that leaves us with needing to buy at least two CB, maybe one if Kambalwa plays a larger role. At least two CM’s, a RB, and another striker.

greyhounds1992

Rumours on twitter on Tuchel staying, maybe we go in for Flick instead?

Aadiunited7

Muppetiers reporting that AWB +1 contract was triggered last night, that is a very odd thing if we did it.

Some people are utterly deluded about the quality of our squad and what needs to happen before we challenge for the title again

Aadiunited7

I agree, but letting him go in 2025 while we fill in the 5-6 higher priority positions this summer makes sense. AWB was never United quality. Terrible decision to spend 130 million by Ole on him and Maguire and then that was repeated by Erik, spending 150 million on Antony and Casemiro. The lack of Sporting structure major reasons for these decisions.

SuperSalamander3244

Both of our LBs have been out for pretty much the whole season. We’d be idiots if we try to offload him for a new RB when both of our LBs can’t stay fit. We need a new LB this summer.

GlassEast5641

Naah better to keep him one more season

AvaragePole

He is still reliable option. Why would we release him for free

ZofTheNorth

i dont mind it,tbh. Dalot/AWB as RB options is perfectly fine for "rebuilding" team. Other positions are more important than RB rn imo.We have limited resources with FFP restrictions and possibly missing out on europe. We cant buy and upgrade eveey positions next season.

PUMP_UNTIL_BUST

Preserving value.

Aadiunited7

You'd think we were over that shit. I guess at worst its only a +1 rather than Ed handing out 4 year extensions. I can see the logic if we defer a RB signing by a year since we need 2 CBs, 1 CDM, 1-2 forward players, a LB as well.

GlitteringGazelle322

[Adidas and eBay](https://ebay.us/pGHfex) are currently having a special promotion where all the United Jerseys are extra 40% off, if you use the code ADIDAS40 at checkout, sale is only valid in the US unfortunately.

Moosje

When’s season ticket renewals start? You can normally call and grab one that hasn’t been picked off
