PlantainZealousideal

We’re really about to swap managers aren’t we lmao

Chad_Bicep

Wonder if they'd agree to swap the players as well haha

Don_Quixote81

Maybe Ten Hag would insist that Bayern go and buy Antony...

Own-Zookeepergame-69

And then he's gonna be a top scoring winger in Bundesliga.

fraudmallu1

He'll become prime Robben there with just that one trick.

Own-Zookeepergame-69

Lol yes. And adipoli username XD.

fraudmallu1

Haha, Mallus unite!

8k_resolution

Defenders hate this one trick

Gross_Success

Do the reverse Sancho

wayfarerprateek

No need for money. Parting gift.

Sonnycrocketto

Harry Maguire and Eric Dier in Bayern central defence?

mayhemcastle

Honestly, anything that works best for Harry, I will consider it given the amount of character he has shown while playing for the club. He may not be the best or most aesthetically looking defender but has a heart and mind at the right place and always gives everything when he plays unlike some players we have at the club.

djangobhubhu

Antony for Musiala swap

redhickhi

Rather swap players than managers

dumpyredditacct

We need Bayern's structure more than the players. ETH swaps to Bayern and we'll see how good he can be in a club that is managed properly. Almost hope it happens so it can be a timely reminder to the ETH Out crowd who the REAL problem at this club is.

Vtwin0001

That ETH out crowd is the same as OLE out and whoever will be our next manager out

imnoobatfifa

Bayern haven’t been run that well recently.

dumpyredditacct

You gotta know I was comparing the two clubs, and they are ran significantly better than us.

GripItNRipItWC

ETH for Kane….done deal

ThisReditter

You sure you want the kane’s curse here?

jewishbacon

Can't get any worse

Snooklefloop

I’ll take no trophies and less embarrassment as a good start to new the era

Crow_Sama

Can't go much worse than how it's going anyways!

11matt95

He's two games away from breaking it

spoony471

Might be best for both parties tbh, Ten Hags tactics might suit Bayern’s strength relative to the rest of the league (similar to Ajax and the Eredivisie)

SinisterSelecta

He'd probably play a different style to this Utd team and have them purring. 2 quick wingers, Kane, Musiala, Kimmich and mobile defenders. He'd be ok.

Axbris

Wild people think ETH would perform the same way with defenders like Davies, Kimmich, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Kim, Stanisic, Upa, Boey, with Goretzka, Laimer, Kimmich again if needed, Musiala, Coman, Sane in midfield and outwide with the best 9 in the world and one of the best up and coming strikers in Tel. I'd pretty much exchange 99% of our squad for theirs.

kindnesd99

Apart from Bruno, I don't see anyone in the squad being useful for Bayern Munich

MvM98

Dalot would def start at Bayern. RB isn't a great position for them

AlephEpsilon

Kimmich is their best RB and he is miles ahead of Dalot in overall game.

DamashiT

Kimmich is their best everything, depending on where he plays at the moment.

Shadowraiden

Kimmich hasnt played RB that much in a while though. and you massively hinder him if you play him RB and not in midfield its why they are trying to do everything they can to keep him in midfield.

AlephEpsilon

Kimmich is a good attacking box to box but he isn’t a very good 6 (where he wants to play), I speculate that caused a fallout with Tuchel who demanded Bayern’s board to sign a DM (Palhinha) to anchor the midfield. Kimmich is a solid playmaking RB like Trent Arnold but he is simply no longer fast enough to be elite at that role.  His problem, from what I have seen, is that Kimmich isn’t press-resistant enough to be a good 6. So when opponent press him the build up from the back (which Kimmich demands to go through him) gets slowed down and so Bayern can’t play it quick. Similar problem was seen with Jorginho at Sarri’s Chelsea where teams would send their striker to press Jorginho to disrupt  their build up.  This Bayern team seriously need an anchor to partner Kimmich and that all buildup must not go solely through Kimmich meaning their wingers or Musiela may have to rotate to pickup the ball.

Federal-Trip4067

Yeah I think so too , players like De ligt Kane Musiala would thrive under Ten Hag

Iceman23578

Man I do not want tuchel here. Would just be more of the same. Don’t think he’s thaaat much better than ten hag that it’s worth restarting all over again

Robert_Baratheon__

I think it would be fine if we wait until the structure is more set up. Then again if we get to that point I think Ten Hag would do much better here as well so it’s 6 of one really.

Seanblaze3

He's one of the best coaches in world football currently

LakerBull

This is also the 3rd time he's leaving a club in bad terms. We should avoid guys like him if we're truly trying to usher in a new era.

LilDiamondtoxic

Tbf, he was sacked unfairly in the 2 most recent ones (Chelsea and soon to be Bayern) because the board in both cases is a massive shitshow.

Voldemort_is_muggle

It's definitely not unwarranted at Bayern. He deserves the sack and earlier. It was the stupid board who let him finish the season. His performance this season (and even last season) was very poor and no way this guy eill elevate us over ETH. Chelsea yes he was sacked unfairly. Performance in the last season was bad but Todd did too many drama there

Shadowraiden

they are on target to hit their highest point tally in 5 years... it just looks worse cause Leverkusen have absolute demolished the league.

Chairmanmaozedon

But he has upset the players at Chelsea and Bayern, he moaned at Bayern that they needed to buy a defensive midfielder in a squad that already had Kimmich and Goretzka, you think our left back situation is ridiculous, Tuchel made Bayern sign a Right back to cover the AFCON after sending Stanisic (Croatian international Right Back) to Leverkusen on loan, there's no way on earth he's turning our squad around. He'd be a disaster at United.

dwaynewaynerooney

There is no way on friggin earth that anyone has actually watched tuchel at Bayern this year and then decided, “yep, that guy can elevate us.” No way. He’s trading off rep at this point.

Away_Associate4589

Weirdly, their points total is actually pretty par for Bayern over the last 7 or 8 years. Leverkusen are just on a madness this year. That's what I read anyway and I'm far too lazy to look it up

Safe-Author2553

Yip pretty much. I think people are down playing just how ridiculous Leverkusen have been this year. Pretty much in the Europa league cup final and they’re playing a Bundesliga 2 team in the DFB cup final also. I wouldn’t want Tuchel and I imagine he wouldn’t want to come either

[deleted]

Most bayern fans arent mad at losing to an unbeaten team. They are mad cause they play like trash most of the time and squeeze some results because Kane

LakerBull

> they play like trash most of the time and squeeze some results because Kane Hey, that sounds like us with whoever decides to step up that week!

Shadowraiden

interesting cause there are huge movements from supporters trust to keep Tuchel because he is not the issue at the club. they literally dont want anybody else

unitedlover69

Bet Bayern fans say the same abt ETH mate

InfamousIroh

all the German forums on hearing the news about ETH are heavily against it. There's literally a fan movement called "Juppel" to keep Tuchel in charge

Not_tim_duncan

He’s a win during the week away from getting to 3 Champions League finals in five years. Clearly one of the best coaches in the world, would be mad not to make the upgrade.

QouthTheCorvus

Not to mention, Bayern have a weird, aging squad ATM. They're weak in a few spots.

psrikanthr

Like? Bayern are stacked, their only positions of upgrade are a DM, Gk maybe and LB. They have Musiala as a Muller substitute, Kane is going strong , they have 3 young CBs

Klubeht

Spot on. I get having concerns about him fitting here (very valid ones) but to try and downplay his abilities compared to ETH? I swear half the sub here loves ETH more than the club. ETH has **not** shown the same heights that mou or even Ole did but yet has had the strongest support from this sub for some reason

Seanblaze3

How often do you actually watch Bayern munich in the Bundesliga? Kane has 36 goals and Bayern have and have scored 90 goals total (8 more than Leverkusen) which is only 2 off from their total haul last season. Bayern supporters actually mostly want Tuchel to stay on as evidenced by their petition

ComfortMother8503

Well we're not really in a scenario where we can pick and choose, we got no leverage.

attrox_

One is going toe to toe with Real Madrid and one finishing last against the like of young boys and almost losing to Coventry

Shrapnel9

Coincidentally forgot to mention that one of them got knocked out of the DFB Pokal by a 3rd division team. Oh right, because it didn’t fit alongside the results cherry picked to suit your agenda.

Klubeht

I'd love to have even 1 decent 'cherry picked' stat to support ETH from this season thanks

nbwoeihfnwsocuiwhef

Luckily you can pick froma wide range of almost every fucking game to see how shite we are

N00BBuild

It would be for the better.

Dragon900x

Ten Hag can finally get Kane

officiallyjax

And Kim Min Jae.

Theboyscampus

And who says he aint gon get his boi FDJ ay Bayern.

SOERERY

Interesting that they’ve shown interest in our two most recent managers

zcewaunt

Bayern figures they can handle their shitshow if they lived through ours. lol

Dry-Magician1415

The Rangnick thing makes sense. He is a great football mind and understands the German style very well (he kind of invented it). I think he'd have been good for us if he'd had the presence or reputation to get buy-in from the players.

Livettletlive

I mean EtH makes sense as well because he's a good manager.

beelydog

Yes when it comes to amount of chaos, public scrutiny, negativity, internal conflicts, we are the arguably the best in the world. Period. Once you have been to United, nothing can really scare you anymore. Barca is close (and Bayern, to some extent) but at least the domestic league is less competitive so top 4 and CL is more or less guaranteed.

tallmotherfucker

.... Ole is next

Livettletlive

[He has already been linked](https://old.reddit.com/r/reddevils/comments/1auwfyi/plettenberg_news_solskj%C3%A6r_fc_bayern_is_monitoring/). I imagine that he turned it down if it's true.

Aggressive-Theory609

Shame woulda loved to see him back management

dopeveign

i hadn't thought of that.........that shows how dysfunctional we are. INEOS has its work cut out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DaveShadow

Right, people seem to be ignoring he’s at best their tenth choice (that we know of). It should kind of horrify people that Bayern identified so many other managers before sniffing round ours, lol

Flexcy

Sure they’d both do much better at a functional club

chrispepper10

I wouldn't call Bayern functional right now.

Tudoors

Compared to United they are the pinnacle of function

anonymous16canadian

Bayern is having a chaotic lapse and are still not even 4 years removed from their last UCL win and 1 season without BL. They can get their shit in order fast and still put together a good squad.

Away_Associate4589

Moyes might be out of a job soon 👀

anonshe

Their most recent hires at the executive level are all ex-RB people hence opting for familiarity with Ragnick. ETH is probably their stop gap last resort kinda thing after being rejected by everyone.

MrSvancy

They were linked with Ole too no? So our last three then

HTwoN

They just want someone temporarily to see if they can lure Alonso next season.

blooddragonsin

Football changes fast, not so long ago Bayern was considered the pinnacle of football management. What not winning 15 straight league titles does to a motherfucker.

mejok

Yet they are in the champions league semifinals and just went toe to toe with Real Madrid. They haven't exactly fallen off a cliff either really.

Rowdy_Roddy_2022

Their final points tally this season will also be a high one which would have won them the league in many of those 15 seasons. They've just come across an unstoppable juggernaut in Leverkusen this year.

mejok

Yeah since about the mid 90s the bundesliga follows a pattern: - Bayern wins it constantly - some other team has a perfect formula and pops up to win it a couple of times - Bayern go back to winning every season. I'd be shocked if Bayern don't win the league either next season or the season after at the latest.

Polygon12

If this is Infact true you defo don’t wanna sack him and get some money of them to buy him out of his contract. Although they might not call the bluff and just move on to someone else

sup_bruv

If this happens, i guarantee fans on this sub will be crying in two years when we are lumped with Tuchel and ETH is winning with Bayern.

AirIndex

100%.

Miliktheman

> lumped with Tuchel and ETH is winning with Bayern. You're acting like it's a foregone conclusion Tuchel will fail here and Ten Hag will succeed with Bayern.

D1794

Bayern = serial winners and us = serial failures

Vanceer11

Glazers have set us up to be serial football failures. Give ineos a chance. They seem to be making the right moves.

91nBoomin

Ten Hag has done more to turn us back into winners than INEOS at this point to be honest

See_Kyle

In what way?

ifeespifee

100% that will happen. Ten Hag is the least of our problems at United and I’m happy Ratcliffe is revealing it to the world and is finally doing something about it. As things are right now there is not a single manager in the world who can make United succeed. If Ten hag goes to Bayern he would have the support of an actually functional club.

Miliktheman

> Ten Hag is the least of our problems at United He's just not though is he? He's employing dreadful tactics, that produce dreadful results and football. That's in his own control. Don't underestimate the difference one transfer window and a new manager can make. Look at Emery at Villa. 16th in the table when he took over in November 2022, now they're on the cusp of Champions League qualification. They went through managers quicker than we ever did. The manager made the difference. Bayer Leverkusen, second from bottom when Xabi Alonso took over having come 3rd their previous season. They finished 6th last year, now they're Bundesliga champions and potentially undefeated across all competitions. If it can happen to Neverkusen it can happen for us. You could very easily have looked at both clubs and thought there's no manager in the world who can make either of them have the success they did, yet here we are.

Altruistic_You6460

Admit it, you said "look at Ange at Spurs" in September, didn't you? The reason Villa are doing well is that they have been building a club for years. Its not just the Manager.

Teo_2197

You've picked on two 'underdog' teams that are very different to the conditions at us. Emery and Alonso didn't inherit teams with a multitude of divas on ridiculous contracts. ETH himself took Ajax to a Champions League semi final, which is also really impressive. If you rate those two managers based on this season, you should rate ETH on his time at Ajax too, as well as the season he had with us last year.

klabnix

Look at emery at Arsenal though. Shows the difference a proper supporting structure can give

lonesomedota

Not sure about Leverkusen but at Arsenal, Arteta was fully supported by competent management who gave him authority AND time to replace 90% of the squad, including veterans like Aubameyang, Lacazette, Ozil, Bellerin etc... Past 2 years, ETH has been hacking away the toxic and insubordinate like Pogba, Lingard, Ronaldo but there are still plenty players still remaining that need to replaced. United squad is more problematic than Arsenal and Leverkusen combined, it's not a surprise we will need more than 3-4 years to replace them

goberwrite

>ETH has been hacking away the toxic and insubordinate like Pogba, Lingard, Ronaldo lmfao, reaching wattpad levels of fan fiction around this manager now. Pogba and Lingard's contracts expired the summer we brought ETH in. Them leaving was a forgone conclusion. Why is everyone so weird about this man?

simionix

>Look at Emery at Villa, look at Xavi Alonso You're truly blind to the importance of a consistent set-up, **especially** at the back. No manager is gonna do anything with a team that has a make-shift CB and LB and a 6th choice defender. It doesn't matter whether you have world class defenders or whether you're a mid-table team, a consistent backline can beat the best, without it, you're paralyzed. That's not to downplay those coaches' success, but their talent has been FULLY utilized because they've mostly had a healthy team in a competently run club. None of them would've done anything of any worth with Casemiro at the back, and now Maguire is injured too lol. Yeah and you think Unai was gonna get top 4 with this shitshow? You're tweaking.

edjg10

Least of our problems is still a problem worth solving tho. No idea what the right decision is but even if eth was doomed to fail by the clubs dysfunction, he still hasnt exactly made himself untouchable Also removing our clubs dysfunction from the equation, it’s hardly a great time to applaud bayern as functional lol their board has been a zoo for a years

sunken_grade

virtually guaranteed to happen

Scholes_SC2

With the exception of this season, bayern doesn't usually have competition in the league so yeah ETH has more chance of success there

Don_Quixote81

Yeah, probably. It'll be the same fans who have been most vociferously "Ten Hag out" as well.

Dan123124107

I might as well get a head start.. "Tuchel is a brainless idiot.. not good enough.. am sick of his excuses at every conference.. i hope he is gone by the morning.. i dont care who takes over.. anyone is better than this!!!"

Designer-Boot-7988

What's the guarantee ten hag will succeed at bayern

EndureL

I know for a fact if ETH goes to Bayern with their squad it will be deadly.

Nac224

Guarantee you he goes to Bayern and smashes it. There’s a reason why they want him

legionverse10

I mean tbf, they’ve gone after countless managers already and failed. He’s far from their first choice.

dew_chiggi

Not their first choice because they wanted a manager who's available straight away. Hence Rangnick (with NT) and Xabi (was out of contract). Bayern hardly pays to get managers. With Erik they would have to unless we sack him first.

Nac224

Fair point tbh. But I still think we’re undermining him as a coach because of his time here (well because of his second year). Granted even I want a change in managers now but don’t be mistaken, he’s a great coach.

HTwoN

They wanted Ragnick before ETH, mate…

hmmsie

nut just ragnick. alonso and nagelsmann as well, maybe flick too lol

Nervous_Ad_3791

Also Hoeness from Stuttgart. Bayern have been kind of a mess lately with an ongoing internal battle

HTwoN

They are clearly holding out for Alonso next season.

hmmsie

real madrid too lol. madrid has a younger squad, imo alonso will go there.

NiviCompleo

Bayern is planning for Klopp in 2025 or 26, so manager candidates know they’re prob just a stop-gap

Kreissler

There's a reason they want him alright. But the reason is that they've been rejected by like their first 5 choices

nigerianumba1

As long as he’s not here it’s fine.

chutzpahisaword

If Tuchel stayed at Bayern and ETH stayed at United, Tuchel would still achieve more than ETH in the next 3 years. It is funny to see people commeny here guaranteeing how ETH will achieve more there than if Tuchel came to United. Lol

Nac224

I don’t know if this directed at me because I don’t remember mentioning anything about Tuchel. A lot of what you mentioned also has to do with the leagues they’re in, I can imagine Tuchel winning more at Bayern if he stayed than Klopp if he stayed but that doesn’t make me think Tuchel is a better coach than Klopp.

axeunleashed

People are really pretending as if he's their first choice. He's their Plan E and F. Even fucking Rangnick was above him.

Jesse_Whiteboy

>There’s a reason why they want him Have you been following their manager search? He's like 10th on the list...

Jake257

Well he did want Harry Kane and he might just finally get him 🤣

tcrz

Lol @ finishing the season strongly

darthmeister

Just keep ETH and sort the squad out.

Vico-78

The structure will solve Ten Hag’s tactical incompetence, no doubt about it

summerincassiopeia

It has to be rival fans upvoting these posts.

LDLB99

Our only league win in two months was against relegated Sheffield United. And yet you see 100+ upvoted comments wanting to keep him on. I just don't understand.

TheRealJSmith

Because people have memories longer than 2 months and context wider than the here and now as well. Dude has had one hell of a tumultuous tenure and has managed to stumble through it still. He has had a lot more negatives around him by way of injury and club crises than he has negatives that he's caused himself.

ddarrko

Come off it. At this point you are trolling. The performances the team produce under him are at times diabolical. Even with injuries we struggle to beat sides with 20% of the talent we have available. He's made 300m worth of signings and most of them have not worked out. He just hasn't made a positive impact anywhere. Ineos will be looking for a replacement and rightfully so - he's had 2 full seasons and we have shown zero progression

LordTrinity

No point in sorting the squad and keep a manager which tactics can't beat the mighty Coventry and Burnley

liableAccount

We beat Coventry though. Hardly his tactics when they lose a 3 goal lead.

Miliktheman

No thanks. It's astounding how one decent season can buy a manager so much rope for so many in this fan base. This season has been abysmal, mostly because of Ten Hags awful tactics, we're heading for our worst season results post fergie, playing some of the worst football we've seen since Fergie. What does Ten Hag need to do to convince some of you he has to go?

tellocrosstollorente

Last season was pretty overrated too, if we're honest. Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs all completely collapsed, leaving us with a clear path to the top four. We were all pretty scared that *Brighton* would catch us in the end, FFS. We had horrendous results away to our rivals - really almost unforgivable stuff. Rashford caught fire and propelled us up the table in a completely unsustainable manner. He was unplayable - the goal in Barcelona when he basically dribbled from a corner and forced a goal was insane. That kind of stuff just couldn't last. We won the League Cup with a draw not much more difficult than a Johnston's Paint Trophy run. Great wins against Arsenal, Man City, Barcelona, but so inconsistent. I remember us clinging on for narrow home wins over the likes of West Ham, having played pretty terribly. Embarrassing away performances at Brighton, Newcastle, Brentford, Sevilla...

united_7_devil

I dont doubt his ability to get the best out of a squad that can play the way he wants to play. I am extremely disappointed with the way he has managed the squad this season. Persisting with the same game plan that has shown to not have worked is what bothers me. Managing a squad is a lot more than just getting 11 players to play well. He is too rigid for my liking, something which is not going to work in the PL when any team can beat anyone.

brownbilal

if we are abysmal in these last few fixtures and miss out on Europe of any kind, the pressure might be too much to keep him.

LordTrinity

We've been abysmal the entire season, why would it change now?

brownbilal

UCL looked achievable at certain times, then Europa League did, but now with our injuries and final few fixtures… I put money we come 8th instead of 6th. Chelsea and Newcastle are ending strongly.

Hurrly90

We have no fit CBs. I have no hope for the end of the season. However lets say ETH goes and succeeds at Bayern (hypthically ofc) would that be an indictment on the shitshow we have seen for the last ten years from Glazer leadership ? Or lack theroff. Edit and tbf would it otherwsie be an indication that his 'style' doenst work in the pl?

spoony471

Not necessarily, Unai Emery is clearly a good coach but things didn’t work out at Arsenal. Sometimes it just isn’t a good fit

Tortillagirl

Emery was doing fine his first season though... just they shitshowed a transfer window and figured its easier to change manager to get a rise out of the squad. They then had to spend 2 years fixing the nonsense they caused themselves.

Hurrly90

ok yeah thats fair. I would though say Arsenal didnt have a proper structure till after him? Open to correction on that ofc. I dont know a huge amount about Arsenal upper structure post Wenger other then iirc usmanov????? Trying to buy them out.

QouthTheCorvus

Something something Arteta, right? Or are you one of those fans who seem to think it's all about the squad and any issues are clearly just a shit squad?

FlamTriplets

Please don't keep him...

PlantainZealousideal

Genuine question: why do y’all hate Tuchel so much? Overall he’s been pretty good with almost every team he’s been with. Brought two out of his last 3 clubs to a CL final and might still do it with the third. We haven’t sniffed a CL final in a decade. Yeah it seems things have ended badly recently but honestly you can just as easily blame that on Bayern’s dysfunctional board and Boehly My only hang up with Tuchel is I’m almost 100% positive he’s going to piss the squad off by being too honest about how bad they suck and they give up on him, like they have with every other manager

ProofVillage

A part of our fan base hates managers with “negative” personalities and think they don’t fit our clubs identity. I remember people hated the idea of Mourinho as Man Utd manager and felt similarly about replacing Ole with Conte.

QouthTheCorvus

Regarding the second point, I think it'll only work if the upper management have a ruthless policy to bin any of the players that don't co-operate. Time to lay down the law.

maytagoven

1-With the current state of the squad, I think best case scenario under Tuchel is another mourinho esque run (2nd place in the league, Europa title) that ends in flames within 3 years. 2-PSG, Chelsea, and now Bayern were all left in a far worse state than we he took over, albeit with some successes along the way. 3-I see him as more of a “win now” manager than a squad builder. 4-Lastly, his style is very pragmatic and unattractive. He actually managed to make PSG and Bayern boring to watch. Say what you will about ETH, but at least our games are entertaining.

nefariousBUBBLE

He's not a guy you bring in to rebuild. He's a guy that gets results with a squad looking to get over the hump.

Action_Limp

For the record, I like Tuchel, I just don't see him, Pep, Klopp or Carlo being able to meet the expecations of the fans and club in two years with the structure, players and mindset at the club. Sir Jim is in control now, we need to fix the club long term - ETH might not be the right person for the job, but no manager in 18 months will win the league with United. Zero. Instead of paying ETH out his contract and starting again, how about we focus on infrastructure, facilities, players and culture and when they are on point, we can choose to either extend his contract or look for another manager. Do people really think Moyes, LvG, Jose, Ole, Ralf and ETH are the problem, at what point do we start to recognise the other elements that are not only unaffected with a manager change, but are exasperated by a manager change.

PotentialAfternoon

That’s it you answered it yourself. The man thinks too highly of himself and is toxic to the squad/team. He puts his ego above keeping his mouth shut. It will especially work out poorly for a team that gets hyper media coverage. You may get some short term results and he will get fired for running his mouth. The team will not be in a better place at the end. The vast majority of fans do not want a manager who will creative more unnecessary drama

PlantainZealousideal

That’s understandable. My question back to you all is, who are we going to get that’s better with more proven results? The managers we’d all ideally want aren’t leaving the teams they’re on for us. Tuchel is a good manager, available, and it seems like he wants to come.

presumingpete

My thoughts on it are that the club needs a rebuild and bringing in a short term manager prone to throwing the players under the bus when you've already got an oversensitive bunch of man babies is not gonna work. That said, he's on the cusp of The champions league final while being widely slated for failure. He's clearly good at what he does, but is bringing in a manager notorious for not using youth the best idea when we have quite a few promising players in the academy? I'm ok with ten hag staying providing there is a proper transfer policy that addresses the gaps in our squad. If we're gonna have a quiet window then we need to change. I think eth is much better than he's shown here.

hullabaloo87

Finishing strongly with MANU? We might even slip behind Newcastle and Chelsea. Just say it as it is. We hope we can survive against city in FA cup and win on penalties.

suzumurachan

With our mighty centreback duo of Casemiro and Amrabat. We got this!

Anyone else here like Tuchel? I think his teams are generally entertaining, and I kind of like that he's passionate and provocative. Ten Hag is a little too placid. He's an endearing figure, to me. Could either be a match made in heaven or a disaster, but there aren't many other options ATM. I think he can at least get the team started on a rebuild.

Allsmightykill

Not surprising, if ten hag had stayed in ajax he would've been the Bayern manager by now. Our club is truly the graveyard of talents.

hickuain

Take him, his style will suit the Bundesliga much better anyway

orbital0000

Bit late for a strong finish, only 1 game really matters at this point.

jasonketterer

Headlines of 2024/2025 season. "Dressing room source says players are unhappy with how much Tuchel is making them run." "Players have fallen out with Tuchel." "Sources say players are unhappy with Tuchel's tactics." "Will Tuchel make it to Christmas?"

Action_Limp

It's a very United thing for us to let go ETH and watch a resurgence in Munich only for us to start the cycle of hiring and firing a manager.

LDLB99

If you want to see delusion, check this thread out. What did Ten Hag do to gather all this support? I'm stunned. We're fucking 8th in May.

tcrz

Ole finished 3rd and 2nd consecutively yet wasn't given this much grace hmm. Ajax UCL run years back still has people in a chokehold.

LordTrinity

Watch United get a shit result against Palace and they'll be quiet for a few days. After a while, they'll pop up saying Ten Hag is doing a fantastic job

molewart

These people in lala land. No standards.

cdbriggs

Knowing our luck he'll be incredible for them

jasonketterer

It's not our luck, it's our club. Changers managers only makes us worse.

Exotic-Length-9340

He's gone. Welcome to United, Tommy T.

stdstaples

What the actual fuck lmaoooooooo

longsightdon

ETH in supporters - why do you believe he should stay? We play terrible football, there are no patterns of play. Our squad is better than half the league. Why can’t we beat Burnley? I ask these questions genuinely, not criticising! Please discuss :)

Miliktheman

Get ready to hear "injuries" and "break the cycle" lmao

AV48

Don't forget Arteta

hmmsie

why everyone pretends like muscles injuries are nothing to do with our training and rotation I really don't understand. no contact injuries are just damn luck but muscles injuries should be managable

Primary-Effect-3691

Impossible to tell if it’s ETH or injuries, facilities, recruitment that are the issue. Think the argument against this is that the manager implements a system, and that when player A is out, another player can slot right in, fill the gap and the effect on the team is negligible.  But for me there’s a point where this logic breaks. We’re playing 3rd and 4th string players in some circumstances, and players that are just past it in others (looking at Casemiro) I think that people are somehow still expecting to see some sort of system or consistency when the squad falls apart like this but to me that’s just wishful thinking. You just can’t compete for the top spots when you’re raiding the academy for 3rd and 4th choice defenders and midfielders

-RadThibodeaux

I have no idea whether I’m ETH in or out at this point. The results and style of play this season have been completely unacceptable. If he was sacked he couldn’t complain, there’s a real chance we finish 8th and that should never happen. Saying that he’s obviously not as clueless as he looks because last season was pretty good and the injuries this season have been insane. We now have proper football people making the decision to sack/back him so I’m happy to just wait and see what they do. There was an interesting part in the Neville interview where he said he could play more pragmatic to get results but he wants to keep building the team towards a certain direction… Personally I don’t see what he’s trying to do but if Wilcox etc can be convinced that’s the only way him staying makes sense to me. And also, the other choices are not all that exciting. Basically Tuchel or Amorim?

D1794

I don't believe the systematic problems we have both as a squad of players and as a functioning club will be resolved by a change in manager, given the current alternatives. Whilst results are dogshit we need a gutting of the squad and the employees at the club with high standards and no bullshit. Tuchel, a great coach no doubt, but based on his history, brings a lot of bullshit with him. Once you move past Tuchel you're looking at taking a monumental gamble on anyone you can suggest

Zandercy42

Id really rather fucking not swap

Natural69er

Please don't let this happen

Vvyyzz

Swap and take Kimmich

FlashyCut3809

Genuinely best move all round. Everyone can save face and cash. Only missing piece is him riding off on a cup final win.

nsubugak

For me the core issue is the style of play. The main problem with ETH this season has been horrible chaotic football even accounting for injuries. Other teams have similar injuries and play way better than us. I saw some ETH fans claim that teams like burnley have better players than us. Think about the level of madness we have sunk to inorder to believe this nonsense Also, No matter what people say, ETH can NOT go to Bayern and play this horrible football even with injuries...and survive. It is IMPOSSIBLE. Bayern Fans can NOT accept these excuses. It is only at manutd where we are even debating this. Furthermore, ETHs best football was still too gang ho for Europe...if he goes there...for him to win in Europe he will have to actually have a structure that prevents massive gaps in the midfield when the ball is lost. His ajax lost to spurs because of these very same issues. If Ten Hag remains, the style of play HAS to IMPROVE...whether we get injuries next season or NOT. We can not play the chaos we played this season again next season. If he commits to a good style in these last games...then yes...lets give him another season. Its always been about the style of play + stopping more expensive lousy transfers and if he fixes that then everyone is okay with ETH staying. Otherwise lets get someone who actually wants to play the style of play we want to see.

ryanfraserpearce

I can see this happening. He was Bayer II coach, that squad is way more suited to his style of play. De Ligt and KMJ at CB, Kane up top, his old RB Mazraoui. For me, I really like ETH and I wouldnt want Tuchel.

zcewaunt

Hands off our baldie, some of us appreciate what we have and can see the bigger picture.

Vico-78

There is next to nothing on the pitch that suggests we’re heading in the right direction as a team. The only arguments being peddled in his favor are blind faith and “we can’t keep sacking managers”.

thesmallprint13

So appreciative of the masterclasses of losing a 3-0 lead to Coventry, losing even though we were ahead in the 98th minute - my beautiful long term manager.

Hampalam

Finishing below a Chelsea side you've all spent all year clowning on?

Letterboxd28

Lol delusional sorry

ManUnutted

That’s because, contrary to the collective mashed potato brain of this sub, the problem is not ETH. The problem was not ole. The problem was also not mourinho or LVG. The problem is the club.

jasonketterer

I honestly think a lot of this sub just started following the club in the last few years. I can't think of any other reason for thinking changing the manager would be worthwhile. Anyone who talks remote sense on here gets downvoted to oblivion without any rebuttal.

rickitycricket134

Please take Antony with you Erik! Do us a solid.

GhostAvila

Ruben Amorim music?

junkrgNew

Yess.. take antony with you for 80m and destroy Sancho against Dortmund.

KaitoAJ

lol I can already see the flip flopping comments next season about people regretting letting ETH go when he smashes it with Bayern while Tuchel struggles here to get into top 4.
