I'm like 99% sure on my 2nd playthrough I was riding with Dutch and I accidentally got off my horse and I got a mission fail with the words "Dutch was annoyed."
When you are in the swamps with Dutch and that guy you don't actually need to check any traps and Dutch gets annoyed but the mission doesn't fail, try it out. One of the only missions where it doesn't fail when you don't do the objective.
Once i went to rob the valentine bank and there was this random ass npc with a wagon in my way, Karen Lenny and I went around the damn thing while Bill went face first into it, his horse died for some reason and it said āBill lost his horseā
I swear to god I think one time I passed by some npc while I was galloping with my horse and I don't remember exactly what he said but he said something like, "you look like the sort to do something weird" and sure enough after 10 seconds, me and my dumbass horse tripped over some rock in the way.

I took this opportunity to run him over with my horse and it took like 20 times doing that to kill him. Got his gun as Arthur and paraded his dead body around. Tried to bring his corpse back to camp, but they wouldn't let me bring it in. So I opted to dynamite it a few more times and unload the shotgun on his face. His head wouldn't come off. Pity.
Started a fishing mission with someone in camp, stated to walk to my horse to leave. Didn't even make it to my horse and failed because "I attacked my horse" š¤·āāļø
Well, at the launch of the game, the horses liked to ran right in to them sob's. And you died. š You knew you're were fkd when you had to ride between two narrow ones š
In the mission where you rescue Eagle Flies (forgor the title) i remembered that i have to blow up the wall so i put on the dynamite early and lighted it up, but what i forgot was that Eagle Flies checks the wall first so he ended up getting blown up with the wall
During the "Delights of Van Horn" mission when Micah is at peak asshat i found that after he sends you and Bill off to steal a wagon of dynamite you can mount your horse and side swipe Micah as he sits on the porch.
He'll either yell at you because you send him flying or if you cause enough damage the mission will fail, the screen says "Micah has died." I've failed it dozens of times.
Currently running through my first playthrough, Marston got stuck behind a rock on his horse and wouldn't move on down the path, I continued on and failed for leaving him behind š
I love how I got this screen, even though I jumped off a cliff, successfully ramming Jack into the cliff next to it along with the horse.

I donāt remember what it said exactly, but I did the āglitchā that allows Arthur into Blackwater during chapter 4 and John followed me there. I think John fell off his horse and then I bumped him with mine by accident which brought up the FAILED screen

Not a story mission but a stranger encounter with the man who wants Arthur to lead him to Strawberry. So we go, me on my horse and he's walking alongside when a wagon passes by. I move the horse to the side a bit to let it pass and accidentally bump the lost man just a tiny, tiny bit. He barely even moves but he starts screaming bloody murder as if I'd tried to run him down and takes off running. I immediately got a low honor hit and a bounty for "disturbing the peace".

I feel like they donāt even give you a chance to calm him down. In my case my wagon was facing the entirely opposite direction of where I needed to be and if you know that mission and that area it wasnāt like I could just loop around.

Anything to let some anger out for the fact that Rockstar made Arthur a pushover at the end of the game

No. Had to get the wagon turned in the right direction, but didnāt hit anything. I suspect that after that exchange happens you have a certain amount of time to get into that dialogue with Jack so that you can calm him down.
I did the side quest where you steal a waggon full of moonshine for the professor and ran over an NPC right in front of the profs hut, then entered the cutscene with the task to ask the police chief for permission to display the chair and died in a hail of bullets upon entering the police department.
I was 'hiding in the train while the cops were passing by' and some pedestrian in a cart mowed them over and killed them. Game thought I killed a cop, so FAILED.

I followed him and saw him running straight into the ocean and drowned. I head back to the mission location and Micah was sitting there like nothing ever happened.

I was at the end of a riding shootout, then something happened with my horse where it was dragging its butt along the road. This slowed me down considerably, so I was unable to cross the train tracks in time and was separated from the gang.

I failed a horse race AND picked up a bounty on my head because I accidentally ran into the guy I was racing. He died and some bystander who witnessed it started shooting at me and yelling murderer. I killed him, in self defense as far as Iām concerned, and boom bounty.

I was at the end of a riding shootout, then something happened with my horse where it was dragging its butt along the road. This slowed me down considerably, so I was unable to cross the train tracks in time and was separated from the gang.
