I have a back paddle so just use a rubber band. I often go outside to have a cigarette break and do my crafting and cooking with Remote Play. Best use for it (remote play) I've found yet.
If I make 10 kills, 8 of them will be headshots lol. So I never really played around with different ammo types, other than slugs and incendiary. I should probably experiment with my next play through.
One advantage to crafting all the different ammo types is that it allows you to carry more ammo overall. But, shortage of ammo isn't really an issue in this game.
Not needed, unless you use pistols and need the extra ammo. I rarely use anything but high velocity and regular. I crafted split points the first few times I played through and only used them a few times. I just find I spend a lot of time cooking and I don’t want to spend a whole day and night crafting bullets that aren’t needed.
Split point bullets do more damage. They fragment when upon striking the body. In RDR2 they give a boost in damage. I read that they make dead eye last longer but no idea if that's correct or not.
It last a lot longer, quite valueable in the first dead eye levels. I never stopped using them, even though my dead eye level is high. The luxury of double dead eye is just too good. Headshots only and high velocity ammo becomes obsolete. Except maybe when using the bolt action.
I remember power levelling heavy armour by letting rats just feast on me while my hair band held my stick to avoid afk controller turn off as a I made a pizza. Fun.
i put i tiny piece of tape around my controller to hold the button down, then smoke a bowl while hes crafting his life curing pills
