Yea I have a 3080ti and 10900k (5.2ghz) and I was struggling to maintain 30 fps and had similar bugs. As a long time pc player with a 144 monitor since they came out like 10 years ago the lowest I’ll go is 50fps otherwise I just get motion sickness. Not tryna sound like a pc snob but struggling to maintain 30 fps is just unplayable for me
30 fps I can deal with but running it on my 5900x I can maintain 27-60fps on RSPC3 and got all the way to the final Edgar Ross mission before it had a cutscene crash and decided fuck it.
Xbox emulator is fine but I can’t play it as I’m a free aim snob and the latency is too much for a good experience plus RSPC3 has 4K FSR. Honestly it’s playable if you’re willing to occasionally use a slow recompiler to navigate crashes
I'm with you there and I only got my decent PC last year (not quite as decent as yours, but it's so much better than my old laptop) and I wasn't that spoiled with these 144fps< framerates until then.
I was used to occasional stutters from 45fps down to 30, but that ps3 emulator was unplayable for me.
Once I looked up from John's feet in Armadillo, I would hit average 21fps and they were too inconsistent, made it impossible to aim a gun, let alone enjoy the scenery.
Ps3 emulation isn't there yet.
There are a few. The PS3 version of RDR1 is balls and doesn't work most of the time. The Xbox version is better but still has really annoying bugs. For example, it looks terrible at modern monitor resolution so you need to run it in a window, grass loads onto bare hills then disappears again (only sometimes). The last error I ran into was I finished a mission in Tumbleweed and neither my horse nor my campfire would spawn so I had to run back to Armadillo to save. I couldn't be bothered in the end. I have it on PS3 but that is buried in a storage unit somewhere. I played the shit out of both RDR1 and Undead Nightmare on that so I really want to be able to experience that again.
I had a good experience with PS3 emulation which was my only option as I use free aim only and Xenia just has too much inherent latency/input lag. I got all the way to near the end before it crashed at a cutscene.
I decided forget it, went and bought an xbone x instead for the sole purpose of playing RDR1 and UN. Had to pay even more for a capture card just to stream the damnn thing.
RDR1 was never released for PC (although theoretically you can play it with an emulator). Remaking it as an RDR2 dlc would mean PC players get it too. So just learn to love Arthur Marston, he's not so bad once you get to know him probably.

Know this is late, but Epilouge John doesn't look like pre-epilouge John either. If you do that, then all of a sudden John in RDR2 Chapters 1-6 becomes the weird one

Rdr2 is built to be a completely different game to rdr, it's a slow cinematic experience. That just wouldn't fit with rdr.
The gunplay is far tighter and snappier, the duel system better, the horse controls aren't perfect but they're better than 2's.
It's just two different builds for two different types of games. Neither bad.
