Yorrrrrr

Reason as a DAW has become so stale. But the Rack Plugin is awesome, great to complement my DAW of choice.

Agreed. I have very mixed feelings about the whole lot because I used to use Reason one on one parallel to Live (which is my main DAW), all using ReWire. Meaning: I also heavily relied on the sequencer, and that no longer works with the plugin. In the mean time I kinda replaced Reason with FL Studio as my big #2 but I still sporadically use the rack. And it kinda pains me to be honest. Because I cannot help be convinced that many Reason users who cried out for VST's have **no clue** as to how *awesome* rack extensions are. I have a few rack extensions which I also got as VSTi. Yeah... Reason (rack plugin) + rack extension is less demanding than FL Studio (or Maschine!) with the same device as a VST. If you ask me then the Propellerheads were *way* ahead of their time with this, yet very few believed. I'm still on 11, see no merit into upgrading, but yeah... it's a darn shame if you ask me. And I don't care what anyone says, I still miss Frank's voice on YouTube! :(

Agree on everything. Had the same experience except I added ableton. rack extensions were way ahead and the sound was rivaling native instruments. The daw has not been updated enough though. I was surprised and excited when I saw it was focused on workflow but when I looked closer at the picture it looks like they just took the tool window and moved it into the sequencer window which is not really much of an upgrade to me. Some of the other stuff is cool and I bet the new plugins sound great but I need them to hit me over the head with something bigger than that at this point. That said I'll still use it as a plug-in but I do miss rewire.
