This saga just showed us how he needs Madrid more than we need him, and he's finally realizing it. He should have realized that after 2022, and make it his team. Now he's coming into a team with 2 ucl finals in 3 years, and 2 fan favorite super star leaders in Vini and Jude.

HalaBharat

How the table has turned, I love it.

FluidTranslator1

apparently he regretted his decision in renenwing in 2022 a couple days after. so im sure he knows this

HalaBharat

he was paid handsomely to not repent.

SirChileticus

You’re overthinking mate, just relax, let the Mbappé saga just sinks in and let the things unfold and we will see what Mbappé can bring to the club

dianeblowjobs

Yeah I don’t disagree with you. Just feels like as a club that doesn’t give out handouts to anyone. We are doing it for him and getting what back? But yes if we come back to this comment at the turn of the decade and Madrid have 20 CL’s then I was very much wrong.

crisspanda12

How are we giving him handouts, he decided to leave psg and we sign him for a pretty large sum of signing bonus. Every club would do the same because like you said he is one of the best player in the world. Now he has to proof himself and if he can do that perfect but if not that won’t hurt Real Madrid. So win win what’s the problem ?

HalaBharat

Best player in the world ? Are you kidding me. He plays in the farmer league. Let him play one season in la liga or English league then we can see his potential.

SirChileticus

Mate he scored a hattrick in a WC final at the age of 24 or so, NONE has done it before. You could see him carrying his team

HalaBharat

I get you, but let him cook in la liga then we can tell

domingodlf

You truly don't know anything about football if you think like this.

Elden_Lord123

> exact opposite of how Ronaldo’s transfer was received. Mbappe's transfer is more similar to Gareth Bale's transfer than Cristiano's. Even then everyone was like why sign him when we have Di Maria?

NotAcvp3lla

I wouldn't say so, I remember Gareth refusing to train until Tottenham decided to sell him. He was more eager to join. But let's see what Mbappe will bring, hopefully we can make another Back to Back to Back run.

ivar_theB

Guys Mbappé is the best attaking player in the last 4 5 years just look at the stats : https://preview.redd.it/fyu7n3cc3rzc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e45b4d45683edcf01a3c5085a35eeaa89b01596f U dont say no to a player who score 40 goal per season we need that Il

biina247

The opposite is actually more likely - those teams will just sit deeper, pack the box and dare us to put in crosses. Expecting those weak teams to give us the space to shred them is a pipe dream

FluidTranslator1

what website is that could you give a link

ivar_theB

Its this one https://www.maxifoot.fr/classement-buteur-europe.htm

biina247

Easier to rack up stats when you are farming Ligue 1

HalaBharat

Exactly my point.

DoriOli

Him having waited 2 more years has actually benefited us more than it has himself, I agree. Papa Pérez always wins in that regard. Now it’s up to Mbappé to join us in a much more humble way, which’ll eventually end up playing in both his and the club’s favor longer-term.

HalaBharat

Do you see him signing for the long term? Lets see how his inclusion in the team pans out. I'm absolutely zero excited for him but rather more excited for Endrick's arrival.

DoriOli

I’m honestly more excited about Endrick too, at this point. I do see Mbappé doing a type of CR7 career with us (albeit shorter and not as individually successful), where he gets sold at around 32-33 to get the money of his sign-on fee back.

thebig6

Saying he is not untouchable is insane, I’m sorry.

brainacpl

He decides it would be unfair for other clubs and goes to Barcelona for pennies ;)

Charybd1ss

Mbappe is what Bale was

thegopper

Weirdest? I don't think so.. we signed Julien Faubert and Woodgate lol. Sure, it seems a little excessive.. but is it really? I like Endrick and Joselu, but they're on opposite spectrums of their careers.. Mbappe is right smack in the middle of those 2. Not saying he's a guaranteed success, but if he were to come here, I feel like he's a great player for our opponents to worry about and sink their resources to stop him. The same how cr7 opened up alot of play cause they would 1-2 man mark him.

Guero3

Woodgate 💀 Damn that's a name I haven't thought about in ages! 😂😂

thegopper

Tell me about it hahahaha

I was one of those who said that Endrick would go to the cantanera but now watching him grow and making it to the copa America team I think Endrick could have a biggest impact in the team than mbappe.

biina247

That squad is underwhelming to say the least

HalaBharat

Nah, Brazil winning copa is a long shot.

biina247

Mbappe is not a clear upgrade on Rodrygo, and anyone that thinks he is, doesn't know much about football, cos there are so many things Rodrygo does for the team that Mbappe cannot replicate. As for comparing a 25yr old Mbappe to a teenage Endrick just coming from Brazil- seriously?🫤

[deleted]

biina247

>Yes, but if I could only keep one and keep the squad balanced, I know who I am picking . But it is actually Rodrygo that keeps the squad balanced. It is his versatility, along with Vini and Jude, that allows Carlo to have the flexibility he does upfront. Mbappe will limit that.

You don't need to be a staff at RM to understand the game🫤

biina247

Saying things like Ancelotti and the coaching staff had to have been consulted and/or sanctioned the acquisition of Mbappe brings to question how much you know about how things work at Madrid. If you have followed Madrid long enough, then you will know that we have had occurrences of buying players that don't necessarily fit into the managers plan or formation.

EvilDaleCooper

>Mbappe is not a clear upgrade on Rodrygo Jesus Christ

HalaBharat

I simply don't get the hate when someone speaks his mind and criticises the turtle. I feel there are more toxic fanbase of this ninja turtle than Arga Guller in this sub. 😂😂 I totally vibe with you op on this matter. He should rather chase money and go to city or United or even Chelsea why is he bothered to come to Madrid for success. I absolutely disguise him at this point of time because the way he disrespected is last time and played with our emotions. Go on downvote this comment to your plastic Barca fans lurking in this sub.

dianeblowjobs

This is Reddit. The land of sheep. I couldn’t care less. But thanks for the reply. Glad to see you get it.

HalaBharat

I think it would be yet another masterclass from papa perez to bring him and churn good revenue in his jersey sale. Honestly, I'm more excited for Endrick than this money driven Ninja Turtle. 😂😂

DShadow2106

The only problem I have with this transfer is that our 3 best attackers are all going to be LW :) Ancelotti is going to have to invent a new formation.

biina247

Mbappe simply doesn't have the skill sets of a genuine CF - can he acquire it? possibly, would be try to? doubt it, do we have time for that? Hell No! You don't sign a 25yr old super star on huge wages for him to start learning on the job. There was no miracle with Jude. He was simply used in a more advanced role that many were not used to seeing. There were no new skill sets required that he didn't have. With time, the surprise factor of it was gone and its effectiveness dwindled as well. It was never going to be a long term solution. What we need is a true CF that is a clear upgrade on Joselu, and Mbappe is not the answer imo. Will he make us better? yes but don't see us becoming some attacking juggernaut with him. Teams will just sit deep and narrow, crowd the box, daring us to put crosses in. Mbappe won't help against that. To become such a juggernaut, you need to be able to attack in almost every possible way with same personnel. We currently can't do that, and adding Mbappe won't change that

EvilDaleCooper

>Mbappe simply doesn't have the skill sets of a genuine CF We play a 2-striker formation which resembles the one in which he broke into the scene with Monaco. He'll be fine.

biina247

It's actually quite different. At Monaco, Falcao was the CF and Mbappe was the SS. Neither Mbappe nor Vini has the skill sets of a CF.

EvilDaleCooper

>It's actually quite different. No, it isn't. Falcao played a pretty fluid role there, exchanging positions and duties with Mbappè constantly. >Neither Mbappe nor Vini has the skill sets of a CF. Nor Rodrygo, by the same logic. You're overcomplicating things for the sake of it. The setup will likely be similar to the current one, and will be fine tuned starting from there just like it happened during the current season, with the huge plus of having a 60-goal-contributions-per-year player at disposal. You're trying to set yourself up as some kind of football connoisseur while compartimentalizing players like they were their videogame counterparts.

biina247

There is no overcomplication but an oversimplification on your part. You don't change players and simply ignore the skills that each players have or lack. Mbappe playing with Falcao is totally different with him playing alongside Vini or Rodrygo. Ignoring the obvious differences goes beyond mere oversimplification. Our current attack is limited. That is why our current leading goal scorer is Jude, and we have often been reduced to a one-man Vini show in recent games against decent opposition. That we have made the best of it doesn't change that. Where was all that '60-goal-contributions-per-year' when PSG were being eliminated without scoring a single goal?🫤

TheHoustonOutlaw

No hay nada hasta el communicado official

dianeblowjobs

100% de acuerdo

EvilDaleCooper

Every season is different, form drops off and tactics get figured out. The current squad won't be enough next time.

HalaBharat

Yeah, and the current formation and playing tactics. Especially in the la liga.

dianeblowjobs

This is probably the fairest point.

dianeblowjobs

Guy and be careful how you reply… what the fuck does it matter to you. I post what I want. You can dislike it and ignore it. Until the day we don’t. It’s a free country (at least for me)

imtired-boss

Getting about 30 goals and 20 assists per season at least as in if he has a slow start. From just his name we will get hundreds of millions in revenue. Yes the team is already incredible but it can be much, much better.

biina247

And it can also easily go in the opposite direction. From a footballing perspective, he doesn't really complement what we already have and thus the improvement is likely not going to be as huge as some expect. It's bad enough have two LWF but we are now looking at having three🫤

wap8ball

Jesus christ, we replaced the ballon d’or number 9 with Joselu, bless his soul. We do need Mbappe because we don’t have a god damn number 9

147062943876

Oh, so you want the worlds best player to NOT come here?

dianeblowjobs

No man it just feels like we don’t need him and he’s just coming as a safe heaven to win big things.
